It wasn’t Ista, that was for sure. But…the bathing pools were nice, and that counted for something. So what if she wasn’t a Telgar rider? Telgar was sexist, terrible, and homophobic. T’ka didn’t have the patience to deal with such things, which was why High Reaches was a much more suitable choice. And besides, being a green rider, she was fairly inconspicuous. She could spend some time here and not attract too much attention. Especially when she stayed away from the Weyr itself. The bathing pools were what she was after, and she had to admit, they were quite nice. Hot springs were incredible, made all the better due to the fact that one got awfully cold while riding, and that Telgar…well, it didn’t exactly have the nicest climate to start with.

T’ka sighed and relaxed in the shallows. With her chest bound, and a pair of shorts on, she wasn’t exactly naked, but she was showing far more skin than she usually did. Probably part of her hold born tendencies still sticking with her, four years later. She didn’t have problems undressing in communal baths with only girls around. But here, out in public, when people of the male persuasion were about…she would keep her clothes on, thank you very much.

She looked around, trying to see just where grumpy old Haath had gotten to. A cursory glance told her that Haath wasn’t around, but upon further inspection, a ripple in the water showed that Haath was lounging in the deeper part of the lake, under the water. Slowly, a green head emerged, eyes a mild green in contentment, as Haath rumbled her approval. Angry Haath was actually quite pleased right now. The water was warm, hers was happy, and she had eaten just yesterday. The world was good to Haath. At least for now.

<> T’ka informed mildly.

<> Haath informed.

<>

<> T’ka sighed and shook her head. This argument was going to go on for a while, she was sure.

Not far from the heated bathing pools was the feedings pens. Normally a few dragons would hanging around their meal, but today it had been empty of nary but spirits of past livestock and the living fodder. So it's only natural a young rider and a hungry dragon would take full advantage, yes?

A squawk rang out as a large Wherrie tried to free itself from the jaws of the dragon, wings beating at the snout in a fragile attempt to make itself break free. But the Blue would have none of that! Oh no! Starving after five days of patrols and Watching, Varoth had allowed his hunting instincts to take over as he had landed earlier; his rider, watching from his spot on the wall, could only feel mild pity for the birds as one after another went down the Blue's throat. This continued for several moments more, until the pack of Wherries was seven short. The only memory of them was the feathers and blood clinging to the dragons' snout as he let out a content rumble.

(Just how long do you plan on tormenting those creatures, Varoth?) Blue eyes stared into the black ones eyeing him from the wall, a smile flickering on the Rider's lips as the dragon in question gave a small snort.

(Mine, you know full well I have not eaten in a short sevenday.)

(I do know that. But that doesn't mean you can gorge yourself.) With a grunt, G'ind jumped off the wall and grabbed a scrubbrush he had stolen from the shed as well as some oil and rags stuffed into his belt. (We should head over to the springs, I doubt the WeyrlingMaster would like it if we scared the Candidates back to the Holds and Halls.)

(Chosen, you speak as if I am a bloodthirsty monster?) Nevertheless, we followed the human, his "tone" light with jest as he eyed the brush and oil in the hands of his Rider.

"You are if you insist on keeping that blood on you." G'ind pondered for a moment but then shook off the idea as he laughed. No no...he couldn't do that...

"Come, let's go get washed up. I wouldn't mind a soak for myself. Not after that brutal ride this morning."

Haath looked like a floating head, for from the jaw down, her body was submerged. This was very nice, because it allowed her to see what was going on, but allowed her body to stay warm and toasty, and keep her ichor warm. Thus, it was Haath who first saw the approaching blue and rider. Covered in blood, the strange blue looked like something from a candidate's nightmare, but Haath was unphased. Really, her sneezes were scarier than that. Seeing as she'd spied him first, Haath only felt it fair to set off the alarm, and warn Hers as well.

T'ka had her eyes closed, when Haath's shriek split the air. T'ka was far too used to this sort of thing by now, and was a far cry from suprised. She opened one eye, and saw the cause of Haath's irritation. A Telgar pair, coming for a bath. <> T'ka informed, though knew it mattered little. They could have this exchange a thousand times and nothing would change. Haath would keep screaming, and T'ka would keep telling her to use words. T'ka chose not to push the topic further. Some battles weren't worth fighting, and when it came to Haath, that was the majority of them.

<leave, Mine. I do not want them here!>> Haath complained, already a trace of red invading her eyes.

<>

Haath was not so easily calmed though. She did not approve of this, not one bit. That stinky old blue was going to come over here and taint her good water! <> she yelled at the blue, not making any sort of effort to be polite or to tone down her frustration. <> Not that Haath cared at all about cleanliness. She was as messy as they came. But for the moment, she was relatively clean, and if she could use it as a complaint and attempt to keep the blue away with it, why, she would certainly do that.

Normally, the duo would not have any sort of problem sharing the bathing pools with other rider pairs. It was already co-ed, wasn't it? But when a harsh scream of rage rang out from that generally peaceful area of the Weyr, Varoth and G'ind both were extremely startled.

G'inds' hand clutched at the thin leather of his tunic, a frail attempt to calm his pounding heart as Varoth snorted and glared in the direction of the Springs, eyes a mixture of red (anger at the one who had frightened His) and yellow (worry about his Chosens' state at the moment); worry got the best of him and he started nudging at the human.

(Mine! Mine! Are you alright?!) In response, G'ind smiled, gently petting the smooth snout with the hand that was once gripping his top. "I'm...I'm okay now, Varoth..." He sighed and grinned as the yellow faded from his lifemates' eyes. "I guess we're not alone ar- VAROTH! WAIT! " The red nor the anger had not faded from the dragons' eyes and he had stomped off to have a few choice "words" with the now identified Green in the water. Poor G'ind had to run at top speed to keep up with the angered dragon as he approached the edge of the lake.

(YOU! DRAGON!) Varoth growled at the submerged Green as his tail flicked against the packed ground. To see the normally-calm Blue angered like so was indeed an odd sight. Infact, the once-wanted bathing he had wanted was pushed away for now, not until he got his message across. (What gives you the right to harm Mine?!)

Haath was, well, angry. That wasn't unusual. However, this time her anger was directed at someone in particular, and this someone happened to be one bloody, and possibly unfortunate blue. For Haath was stubborn as a sun crazed wherry, and wouldn't back down without a very good reason. Like some spotted lake monster, she surged forth, beating at the water crazily with her wings, throwing water everywhere as she charged Varoth. She screamed again for good measure, eyes a vicious combination of red and orange. As she reached shallower water, she was able to make more of a show, and stomped and thrashed, as if she wasn't noticeable enough already.

<> Haath challenged, lip pulled up in a snarrl. Okay, it wasn't the most well thought out reply in the world. But that was because Haath didn't understand how she'd harmed Varoth's. She hadn't...done anything? Well, she'd screamed, but she'd hardly made a move until now. Being a dragon, she couldn't very well envision harming a human, so this whole idea was a little bit too much for her. So, when she wasn't sure how to feel, she defaulted to anger. Classic Haath.

T'ka sat up, facial features quickly rearranging into a scowl. Oh dear. Did that other dragon really have to do that? It was going to take her forever to calm Haath down now. There went any plans she had for the evening. She waved an arm energetically, to hopefully attract G'vind's attention, beforee cupping her hands and yelling to him. "You should probably try and calm your dragon down. Haath's not above a scuffle if she gets worked up enough," she informed. It really was a good bit of advice. Hopefully this could be solved without too much hassle. Really, it was Haath's fault, but...shards, T'ka knew Haath did have some good qualities about her. It was unfortunate that no one else seemed to recognize them.

She watched the dragons with mildly concerned eyes, like a parent watching a child. Haath was such a stubborn one sometimes. It often seemed to T'ka that she forgot she was a green, and assumed she had the size and rank to boss just about anybody around. Even after these years they'd grown together, Haath had yet to encounter anything to put her in her place permanently. Oh well. In some ways, T'ka hoped Haath would never change.

Vaorth did not let the angry display from the female dragon intimidate him; instead he glared at her with his lip curled back, letting sharp fangs show as his wings were spread to make himself appear larger. Growling low in his throat, the Blue stood his ground....

At least, until, his only weakness touched his leg. Red eyes faded to their natural blue as G'ind smiled up at His. "Varoth, you know better than to pick fights, especially with a fine female such as her." Waving an "It's Okay now!" signal at the Green's rider, he went back to petting and scratching his lifepartner, whom had settled down enough to lay beside his chosen on the ground.

Mine, are you fine now?

I am. She certainly was a surprise. I wasn't aware that there was a Green with...um...a fine set of lungs like her in Telgar.

At this, the Blue let out a gruff snort. Well, for now, let us not worry about those small details. I itch very much so.

G'ind chuckled and turned back towards the pool, plus back towards the Green's rider. Walking towards them, he held out his hand in greeting to the Rider. "I apologize for my dragon's behavior just now. We just weren't expecting to...um..." He tried to find the right word to describe Haath. "Find someone as....loud? as your dragon in the pools. Most don't hollar as such unless there is a problem that needs attention at once."
