Rider Name: A'ras Rider Age: 25 Rider Gender: Male Rider Sexuality: Hetrosexual
Rider History: Auras was born in the Keroon Hold and brought up by his father, Kellas, as a single dad after his wife had died during Auras' birth. Kellas was a baker and worked long hours in the Hold's kitchen but endeavored to be a good father and had the help of many holder women during the hours he worked. Auras became a busy, average-looking child with many playmates in the hold. Over the course of childhood, he developed into a well-rounded little brat that had to have his energies pushed in positive directions or he was sure to cause trouble. So his father took the boy under wing quickly as soon as he could and taught him how to bake; explaining that in order to have some sweets one must learn how to make them. Of course, this gained Auras' attention and as time passed his relationship with is father grew stronger.
Over the years, his relationship with his father was better than most; communication being the key thing. Each night, they would settle around a dinner table quite late and talk about everything, anything that came to mind while eating leftover sweets from the kitchen. His father was very instrumental in making sure that Auras got a good education from the local Harper although the boy had a terrible habit of procrastination followed by bursts of all-nighters so as not to disappoint his parent's expectations. Kellas tried many methods to improve this issue by poking the boy with reminders and at times it did help given a bit more steady pace to the matters at hand.
When Auras approached his teenage years, he started to feel a bit awkward and rather nervous about how he looked, that first pimple...everything that changes when you start to realize there is more to life than playmates and pies, his father was right there and took the boy aside to give him the "talk" then started to work on building his confidence in hope of saving him from the harsher issues. These methods helped give Auras a surer footing but even as it goes, teenagers have ups and downs. he still felt like an "ugly duckling" on occasions. It was during this time, he was searched by a Dragonrider and his father reluctantly let him go. Auras wasn't sure what was a head but the surprise of being search surely had a positive effect on the boy because it just wasn't anything he had ever really thought of before.
Upon arrival, the freer style life of the Weyr was enlightening to the boy; he couldn't help but be thrilled with the opportunities in the Weyr even though he was just a candidate and otherwise overwhelmed with chores. And while confidence in the boy grew in his new life, Auras was starting to blossom in other ways and getting more notice...good and bad. He might have gotten himself into quite a bit of trouble had it not been for the hatching that changed his life forever.
As he stepped out onto the sands for the 5th time, Auras wasn't sure what to expect but knew that if nothing happened at all; he'd have fun at the afters! One very large egg on the sands was definitely hard to miss and upon cracking it revealed the most splendid of creatures; a reflection of his future...yes. It wasn't long before his eyes were captured by the most amazing dragon on Pern! With this pairing, the washed the rest of the "ugly duckling" away until his rider became an elegant swan worthy of his own unique perspective. To say dragons affect there riders greatly has much truth in this case, the dragon drew out A'ras' potential but it took many turns later for A'ras to figure out how to deal with dragon.
Rider Personality: While his beauty compliments his dragon, his personality isn't nearly that "prideful". Of course, he might be the most handsome man in the Weyr, he's usually not to keen on letting everyone hear that from his lips...Unless of course they say it first! However, while his outward demeanor might be quite charismatic and could catch the eye of many women; none have manage to score him easily - At least, those with any expectations beyond sex.
He prefers the freedom of flirtation to the bonds of a relationship and is rarely mindful of broken hearts. It's not his fault that the woman fell too hard...He surely didn't. At least, that is what he'd say on the surface. However, in a deeper sense, the man fears the ties that bind and would rather run like mad than face them head on. Relationships have way too many expectations and so he's not easy to pin down for some flights and has been notably absent from the Weyr...on patrol, left for a hold...at the beach. Anywhere but the Weyr.
Relationships aside...or maybe not. A'ras is a man that loves to visit the holds, markets, and gathers and tends to make the rounds as much as he can. It's one of his favorite pastimes - Networking across the world. His handsome appearance gives him much more favorable first impressions and he's not afraid to use his looks and charming personality to gain better things for himself and his dragon.
But at times, even A'ras gets "tired" of being a attention grabbing magnet and wants to stay away from the limelight. These are the times when he can be the most productive and actually focus on matters around him. His exterior screams the possibilities of leadership but he's not made any advances in this direction as of yet. He might have flair, he might have style, brains, be well read, and he even can attract people to his side for a time but somehow he has not been able to combine it all to draw people behind him as long-term followers. It's his individualistic, willful and sometimes arrogant nature that keeps him from excelling in that matter. However, it doesn't mean that he couldn't do the job...he'd just need help to put it all together. And possibly at times a good kick in the pants.
A'ras has a few different work modes - Slow, Engaged, or Ludicrous. Sometimes he can procrastinate just a bit too long then suddenly he jumps to Ludicrous speed trying to catch up to all that he should have done days ago. Maybe it was from too many parties in between that he got...a little shortsighted but its nothing that 7 cups of Klah and an all-nighter can't fix! Needless to say, anyone that works closely with the man best be prepared for his insane scheduling or have the strength to push him to more productive management.
As far as friends go, A'ras has very few "real" friends. But those that he does count as friends, they can be certain that the man will be on their side in times of trouble. He tends to go the extra mile if a close buddy is in dire straights. If he has to, he'd pull a stunt or two to spare a friend and can sometimes over do it. This can sometimes make matters worse so the wise friend usually asks for his help sparingly because you never know what A'ras might do.
In a wing, he's bound to be charismatic, daring, courageous...he knows his duty well. However, he's not always sure what the others think of him. Shard forbid that any of his female co-workers might consider the wing more than working together! So in his own mind he's set one simple rule that is difficult for a man like him to follow although he's been pretty successful so far...Do not flirt with the Wing members! Although the man is bound to make mistake sooner or later and will definitely be paying for it later if he does.
Rider Appearance: In his youth, he was rather average but as the boy filled out and became a man, wow! Brutally handsome, he's the man that your mother told you to stay away from but you never listened. A masculine creature carved from the loins of whatever fantasy comes to mind; it's hard not to take a second glance...or a third. His deep green eyes are set upon chiseled features caressed by rich blond hair that is kept just longer than shoulder length. He tends to wear two thinner braids that are usually woven with beads, thread and charms; some rumor that those are gifts from secret admirers.
Other/Talents:
Baking - A'ras has a horrible sweet tooth.
If A'ras needs to learn something, he'll do all-nighters to figure it out. He hates to be caught with his pants down on a matter.
- Likes to sunbath, loves the water. - Smooth-talker -Charismatic - Outgoing - Charmer - Procrastination - Heart Breaker

Dragon Name: Havocath Dragon Color: Bronze
Dragon Appearance: Stunning! He's a very handsome specimen of bronze dragon. Havocath is not a small dragon by any stretch of the imagination although for his size he's got a lot of strength in flight because the dragon rather be flying than sitting around all day! His body is truly a work of art - well toned and muscularly fit from so much travel.
Dragon Personality:
Havocath was born to be wild!
This bronze has an almost unrivalled sense of adventure, with a deep love of the open air and wilderness. Just cruising around in the sky with His is comparable to the day that he met A'ras. He doesn't even need a destination when he goes out to fly; in fact, he's almost happier when he doesn't have one! Who needs flight paths and jumps Between when you can fly straight and feel the wind in your wings? His favourite flights by far are just that: Flights. You can count on Havocath to be first off the ground when a green or gold lets the Weyr know she's looking for a man. And who better to catch her? He knows he's stunning – and of course His is definitely no eye sore either – so why would anyone settle for second best? Havocath seems perfectly happy to play the role of home wrecker, and doesn't even seem remotely remorseful when he catches a weyrmated dragon. Hey, he can't help it that he's so amazing!
Because of his gung-ho nature, he has a hard time remembering that consequences do exist and they do apply to him. He does not take well to being chastised, especially if his pride takes a hit, and will sulk for as long as he remembers the incident. Often times he needs His to remind him of the seriousness of their work, as he would rather be off doing his own thing than spending time with his Wingmates. Definitely a free-spirited bronze, he can sometimes find the repetition of drills to be too monotonous for his liking. No doubt A'ras has to listen to him gripe the moment he gets bored, and a bored Havocath is a dangerous creature indeed. While his rider may have what it takes to be a smooth-talker, his dragon tends to think of himself as above that kind of nonsense. Let A'ras handle the social relations. Havocath will leave them all in the dust anyways. It's only a matter of time before the Weyr acknowledges him as the best bronze, and by that point small talk will no longer matter.
He shares his rider's love of sun and water, though A'ras will find that he seems to enjoy making a spectacle of himself whenever more riders and their dragons arrive on the scene. It's only when the pair of them are alone can he be trusted to sit still and behave. Havocath can appreciate these quieter moments with his rider, it just takes a little bit of focus.
Why did this dragon choose this rider?: Well, Isn't it obvious? They are perfect for each other...Stunning even! Havocath knew exactly who he wanted when he burst from the large shell. He never needed to gaze at any other boy. His had many things in common and enough different to make it fun. Oh...and flying...Yes...between the two of them, nothing is impossible. He found the best boy, for the best dragon.

Wing Assignments
This message is an announcement to alert people of the wings their new High Reaches custom dragons are in as of now. Remember, there are NPC riders all over the place, so it should be understood by characters IC they are not the only wing/wingriders. However, for the sake of allowing people to RP with each other instead of a bunch of invisible people, we are stuffing all the "existing" riders together.
Veteran HR riders will be assumed to have been in a different wing and are now being moved. New transfer riders have had no other High Reaches wing prior to this.
IC, this is decide by D'astel, the Weyrleader, based on his personal opinions and views IC (this will also be announced to this group of riders IC, so assume it has happened off screen). Riders who don't like their wing assignment are free to set up an appointment to try and get transferred. OOC, however, will hold no influence on transfers.
Wingriders may be transferred again or promoted (or perhaps demoted) at any time based on their IC actions. (NPCs, too!)
If you have any further questions, just ask.
Riders not placed in a wing A'ram of Brown Rath
Tokoth's Wing Wingleader: K'ban of Bronze Tokoth (NPC) Wingsecond: P'ren of Brown Gharth (NPC) Wingriders: A'ras of Bronze Havocath M'harth of Blue Nalheidruth L'thor of Green Raith K'lan (female) of Green Condorth T'ka (female) of Green Haath
Narjith's Wing Wingleader: H'pez of Bronze Narjith (NPC) Wingsecond: Kessa Blue Jadarath (NPC) Wingriders: Onyal of Brown Eshuth A'jel of Brown Vogieth Kallista of Green Astarteth G'ail of Green Senoth
Things to Assume OOC:
Because it's not practical to expect everyone can find time to RP every single IC wing practice, things need to be assumed OOC to have happened. These things are as follows:
For both wings:
- Practice is at least once a day (relatively short) and it will be taken very seriously. It includes drills, verbal lessons and mental preparation.
- All dragons are expected to behave, pay attention and do their best.
For Tokoth's wing:
- K'lan and T'ka can expect to face a lot of bias from the wingleader/wingsecond. They will not EVER intentionally harm either, nor intentionally put either in harms way, but they will be "picked on" in terms of perfectionist standards. A male member of the wing will get away with messing up in a drill with an easier time than either of them. Do your best, ladies. (But don't overblow it IC, players.)
- Any rider or dragon that mouths off to the Wingleader (or his dragon) will be given very degrading chores. No exceptions. This includes shoveling herdbeast dung, cleaning and other duties normally assigned to candidates. The length of time depends on the severity of the crime. These assignments may only be revoked by the Weyrleader or the Wingleader himself. Riders who fail to submit to their punishments will be brought to the Weyrleader unwillingly and possibly face worse consequences.
- K'ban is one of the most popular Wingleaders (if not the most popular) in the Weyr for more traditionalist people and those manly workaholics.
For Narjith's wing:
- Any extra attention, good or bad, paid to Onyal for being a female brownrider will be stopped immediately by either the Wingleader or Wingsecond. Wingriders are to see her as a brownrider and nothing more, nothing less.
- After wing practice, the wing assembles in the dinning hall to socialize, drink and eat.
- H'pez is one of the most popular Wingleaders in the Weyr for people who want a "fun" or more laid back wing.
