Large paws crushed the earth that the trampled upon. She was finally getting a moment in between cubs. She has always thought it would be beautiful to be a mother, little had she realized it was more work and neverending.

Her tail brushed along the grasses of the open savannah area. She had decide to take a walk away from all of them. Her mate, cubs, everything. She was tired, and she was still such a young female at that.

She yawned, her red maw exposing the ever white teeth. She smiled when she saw a tree that produced quite a bit of shade as she strolled up and padded in the grasses that were untouched by the sun.

Yawning again, she lowered her body to curl up for a nap. A much needed nap, away from everyone.

Hitsuji'amatsu didn't really know where she was going. She supposed she should, as that was usually a good thing to know...but it couldn't be helped at this point. You didn't get unlost just by thinking you'd rather be otherwise, right? And what was so bad about being lost? She found it to be quite fine, just as normal as knowing your way.

It was very warm out, it nearly being afternoon, but she kept on going anyway. She supposed she was hot...but she didn't see it as a problem, really. After a bit of walking she saw a tree and, more importantly, someone laying under it. Finding it curious, she strolled forward. She stood there then, her large, rounded teal eyes watching the lioness curiously.

After a moment, even though it was very possible the lioness was napping, Hitsuji asked, "What are you doing under there?"

Valenera had almost dozed off in the warmth of the day, but the cool breeze the shade would sometimes offer her.
But when a voice came out of nowhere, she jerked up, her eyes wide as she began looking around. She hadnt been expecting anyone after all.. How long had she been lying there? Surely not that long..

"I was sleeping, but I guess Im not anymore."
Though she wasnt angry, as she was used to not being able to sleep.. Even though her cubs had grown, they were still just as incapable of sleeping in on certain days, or taking naps at all.

"That's odd," Hitsuji replied with a curious expression, "Why not sleep in the sun? It's so nice out...?" She turned her head a little, looking up at the blue sky. The sun was high and bright. She then looked at the shaded area and did not feel the same apeal.

She swisted her tail and tilted her head to the side and then had a sudden change of expession, one that suggested she'd had a surprising realization, "Ah! I'm sorry. I suppose those of poor strength really shouldn't be out in the sun. Forgive me." She dropped her ears in embaressment.

She perked an ear, looking at the other female oddly. She didnt enjoy the sun, as she had been raised in dens and she felt more comfortable in the cool lands.
But she shrugged it off, yawning and lifting herself off the earth with her large paws.

"Im not of poor strength."
She replied, her red eyes gleaming as she cocked her own head. This female sure was strange.. She couldnt seem to just tell why though.

"I have a little of six, I never get to sleep, do forgive me."
She smiled.

Hitsuji wasn't really paying much attention to what the lioness say, which was easy to misunderstand due to the wide unwavering gaze she had. Half of the words that went in one ear came tumbling back out the otherside and into the grass. The lioness wasn't of poor strength? She hard no such thing.

"Six? Ahhhhh, that'll be the death of you, poor thing! Kids are so cute, but I could never manage so many and certainly not all day...I just like to play games with them. Games are so fun," she continued, not noticing the inacuracies in many of her statements, "But games don't last very long...bored kids aren't really any fun either."

She noted that the other talked alot, and couldnt seem to catch all it was she tried to say. She did her best to keep her eyes from crossing and noted each statement one at a time.

"Yeah kids are cute."
She chuckled, shaking her head. She would have said so at one point, but she had such a variety of personalities in her last litter, she felt sure that it wasnt good for her to breed again.
That, and she just didnt really want to go through all that again.

"I dont have the energy to play their games. Their father doesnt hunt, and tends to be rather lazy. Leaving me to do the dirty work."

"Ahhh, that's a shame, you needing to be negelctful because he's being neglectful. But I feel so bad, he must be such a horrible mate if that's the case ahhhhhhhh," she trailed off, her eyes closing a little as she seemed to get lost thinking about it. Or about something else. It really wasn't clear which it was.

"Ahhhh, men are so lovely though, at least to look at..." She commented without warning, looking a little dazed and rosey cheeked. "I'd really like a man like that..." Her teal eyes had completely desserted the lioness at this point and drifted to look at...nothing in particular. An image in her imagination, perhaps.

She smiled, shaking her head.
"Ah, hes not a bad mate. Though it would be more helpful if he did more. He is a wonderful father, though hes completely full of himself. Im afraid his bad attitude towards life has rubbed off on his eldest son."
She shrugged a bit.

"But you dont care about that Im sure."
She smiled, flicking her tail side to side. She was growing kinder with each passing day, having kids tended to humble the ones who couldnt be humbled before.

"Oh they are -lovely- to look at."

"Ohhhhh so you'll have a good for nothing son too, what a shame! I'm so sorry," she said with some awe and sadness. Poor lioness, to be in poor health, with a bad mate and children soon to be the death of her...how very sad, very sad indeed.

"Yess, I really would like one someday," she admitted, "Or maybe a few...I do ever so like looking at different ones...unless they are ugly, then I'd rather not look because I feel so sad for them ohh! To be ugly must be very sad." There seemed to be no limit to how her brain might jump from one subject to another.

Val wasnt sure if what she was saying was really what Val had said..Or if she had merely just not been listening and making her own story to what Val had said.
Her son wasnt good for nothing, at least she didnt think so yet. He was still her son. But she shook her head, trying to blow it off. After all, it wasnt like the female meant anything by it.

She went from speaking of lions to speaking of ugly creatures. She smiled and blinked a bit, chuckling slightly.

"Well I imagine it must be. Though I feel that Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

"Ohhh, that's so sweet to say," Hitsuji replied very sweetly, though some pitty was in her tone. She gave Val a pit of a sympathetic look, but didn't say anything more on the subject. What she was thinking or implying by it all, however, seemed unfortunate.

"I suppose I should let you rest, mmm? Keep you away from that death bed and all, with all those kids running you ragged!" She commented, seemly in all seriousness. What she must think of those children, saying such things! But her intentions didn't seem to be poor, at least not in the way her sweet face looked.

Val gave a very focused look as she was somewhat confused at the female. She looked back at her resting spot and smiled.

"I should be heading home soon as theyre probably missing me by now. My belly is rumbling so I know they must know its dinner time." She smiled and gave a chuckle.

"They run ya ragged but theyre good to have"
She replied, happy this once to have cubs so that she could know they were not just a curse, but a blessing as well.

"Mmmm," for a moment it looked like she was going to reply, by the careful way she held her head and the thoughtful look in her eyes. But it passed and in an instant she had turne don light feet, away from the lioness and her shade...and her very sad troubles.

"Goodbye!" she called, jumping off into the tall grasses and in the light of the sun. Mmm, it was so nice and warm...yes, she liked this much better. The imagined plight of the other lioness was quickly forgotten as Hitsuji trotted off, letting the soft golden stalks brush against her fur. Back through a sea of gold...back to being happily lost.
