So, on thursday, most of our band left for Disneyland (California) About 26 of us where left one of which was me. Friday was an incredibly lax day (we watched The Sound of Music and most of us hid in the Greenroom).
But Saturday was the best!
We where slightly squished on the bus because a bunch of people wouldn't move to let our five colourguard members who didn't go have a seat so they where put in the back with us (Sousaphones and Trombones). I doubled up with the other Sousaphone who didn't go and all I can say was it was a long two hour drive to Prescott.
We where there first but about five minutes after we got there, the rest of the band showed up (in charter busses with TV screens I might add). I have to admit, seeing the band reunited after three days had to be one of the most beautiful sights I had ever seen. Everyone started hugging their buddies and sectioning up. It was amazing.
Anyway, we competed and got an Excellent (A high achievement since we had a good last week). We where watching the other bands and my section leader was describing his time in disneyland to me and the other sousa who didn't go. (Side story: it was national gay day and he had like five guys hit on him biggrin )
We got back to the busses and had pizza and snacks. I grabbed like eight rice crispy treats and decided I was gonna annoy everyone on the bus ride back and get super hyper. So, I eat four really quick and started to feel the sugar rush but it wasn't until we where back on the bus that it really started.
I'm not gonna get into detail, but let me just say it was a bad ride for anyone who wasn't me. We got into a "That's What She Said" battle (I won) and kept everyone else up. When we got back to the bandroom I did a bunch of cartwheels (cuz it was still empty).
Then the rest of the band kids came in and the Sousas where last to leave, like always. Then i started to feel bad cuz I was getting to be totally out of character and I started back talking my Section Leader. Luckily, I was able to explain to him (with backup from my seatmate) that I couldn't really help it.
All in all, it was a fun competition biggrin
OH, by the way, technically this was our second competition but I didn't get to march last week's because I didn't know the music. I had to stand on the sidelines *cries*

Competitions are fu. I personally enjoy long bus rides, such as state bus rides. Especially because the longer the bus ride, the more chance of no silent bus ride. Yeah, I said silent bus rides. Our BD makes us be completely quiet the whole ride anywhere.
