"Hmm hmmm...." She mumbled- clearly deciding to take today after school to get her shopping over with. Though she might not look it she did enjoy buying herself a fashionable piece now and then. Lyre wasnt the girliest of them all- but she was far the dorkiest of them all too. She bathed regularly, and while she did enjoy the occasional good game of chess she was just a normal teenager.
Besides being a pushover.
"Oooh..." She said- eyeing a pair of shoes in the window of a store. They where a pretty black color, with a bright orange tag saying they where half off with the regular shoppers card.
Pausing to dig into her purse- she pulled out a card. Her family was not the richest people in the world- but they where not that bad in the financial department. Lyre would shop here once in a while.. at least enough to earn herself a card. She liked the deals she got with its powers.
Skipping within the store she noticed she was not the only one whom was taking part in the regular shoppers sale. It was not packed, but it was enough to come off as busy. There was even someone at the counter arguing about why they cant get the orange tag sales. Awwh... she'd give it to them if she was the clerk....
Humming she went to the back of the room and was lucky enough to snag a sales associate who just finished helping someone else. They greeted her and asked if she needed help.
"Yes please- i was wondering about that pair of shoes in the window?" She pointed at the pair and was told that that was the last pair in the whole store- but luckily that pair was her size! The associate said it wasnt normal policy to give out show models, but today being a special sale it was fine. Nodding, Lyre made her way towards the front to grab the pair of shoes.

"What do you mean I can't get a discount?"
Ursula Johnson continued her glare contest with the woman behind the counter, the object in question still lying between them. She'd rushed to the store after work when she'd heard one of the Hillworth teachers discussing the sale, but unlike most sales she attended, this one wasn't going too well.
"This shirt clearly has a smudge on it," she continued to argue. And it did have a make up smudge (after all, Ursula had been the one to put it on there!), "So it needs to be discounted. I can't believe you'd expect me to purchase a shirt that's practically vandalized at full price."
She and the sales associate continued to go at it, and despite what she thought was a strong argument, Ursula knew she was getting nowhere. Grumbling to herself, she left the shirt on the counter and returned to surveying the store. The shirt was a no-go, but perhaps there was something else worth actually purchasing. And that's when she saw them.
Shoes.
Those glorious black pumps. They practically screamed her name. They went with about twenty different outfits, and were sexy as hell.
They would be hers.
All at once, a redheaded child stepped in between Ursula and the shoes, breaking the older woman's trance. Her eyes narrowed as she saw the girl reaching out for the shoes, and she felt a growl rising from her throat.
"WHAT do you think you are doing?"

Reaching out for the shoes she was so happy about finally catching her prize- that she did not even notice the other woman approach.
Pulling the shoes towards herself she made a slight yelp- jumping and dropping the two shoes in the process. Thankfully, the shoes where left undamaged.
Turning around, Lyre gave her best deer in headlights look at the older woman... the same one who was arguing at the counter earlier.
"I..uhm... Im just grabbing my shoes?"
This woman is scary. SUPER scarey.

"Your shoes?" She bellowed, her glare moving from the face of the offending student down to the grubby little mitts that were no doubt leaving nasty oily fingerprints all over the delicate fabric of the beautiful shoes. "Your shoes?"
The shoes had fallen to the ground, and Ursula's orange eyes widened in horror at the abuse the poor innocent shoes were already taking at the hands of the hooligan desiring them.
"No, dearie, these would happen to be my shoes you're trying to take," she snapped, leaning over to swipe the shoe that had fallen nearest to her. The other, unfortunately, was still closer to the student, so Ursula was forced to rise up with only one shoe in her possession. Outstretching her hand, she shot yet another look towards the girl. "So if you would please hurry and return back to me the other shoe you've so carelessly thrown on the ground?"

Blinking a few times Lyre found herself staring at the woman- clearly she had an aura of authority. Looking down she quickly re composed herself.
Smiling- yes... Lyre was smiling. "Oh goodness im so sorry!" Bending down she picked up the shoe- and dusted off the sides returning it back to its pristine sheen.
"I... honestly did not realize these where yours..." Giving a sincere look- she handed the shoes over to her.
Blinking again- getting an idea..
"Did you want to use my discount? There is a sale going on today and you could use my card if i went up to the counter with you... Or i could pay for them!"

Ursula paused, slightly taken aback at the woman who failed to show any resistance on handing the shoe back. Was Ursula finally becoming more intimidating, at long last?
Smirking, she nodded her head triumphantly as an idea sprung into mind. If this girl was just so... willing, Ursula wondered what else she could manage off of this girl.
"That would be very helpful indeed!" she exclaimed, quickly looping her arm forcibly with the other girl's, taking both shoes into her possession, "But don't you want to look at some jeans too? I hear they just stocked up! Or maybe some makeup? You could do with a bit more blush to accent that red hair of yours, dearie."
Putting on the best smile she could, the older woman nodded her head as she steered the younger girl towards the makeup counter, "My name's Ursula, by the way. And you would be..?"

Grinning she was happy to finally see that the other was becoming friendlier. She doesnt like seeing people upset so she will go out of her way to make them happy!
"I'm Lyre! Pleasure to meet you!"
Being dragged around didnt bother her much- people tended to do this to her quite often.
"Umm... Im not really one to wear pants and makeup." She admitted- she much preferred wearing skirts and just putting her hair back.

This was almost too easy.
"That's okay, jeans are overrated anyhow," She concurred quickly, waving her free hand in the air as she spoke, "But makeup is a must darling, especially if you want to catch a boy's eye."
Ursula paused, her finger gently pressing against her chin before she turned to look at Lyre, "Though I suppose you've already found a wonderful boyfriend, right? Never hurts to pretty up for him then; heaven knows men appreciate when you get all dolled up for their benefit."
Most men, at least, the voice in the back of her mind shot at her, thoughts of Charonite arising. At least Drew had sense enough to take delight in her primping, despite her boss's indifference to anything but cats and star seeds.
Returning to the current moment, she let out a shrill little laugh as she forced the redhead down into one of the chairs next to the makeup counter. The assistant was quick to reach the two of them, but Ursula was quicker, and had already whipped out the eyeliner and begun going to town on the poor student's eyes.
"Now hold still, and keep those eyes closed!"

Whaaaaaat? Lyre finding herself a guy? Uh... no- not really yet. She was interested in guys sure- but she really wasn't looking to date just yet. She hangs out around guys all the time- afterall they always ask her to fetch things for them. She isnt sure if they ever truly SEE her though.
"No i haven't found a guy yet." Lyre replied while getting her eyes brutalized by the others weird instruments. She closed her eyes tight.
"Im not really... interested in covering up my face in products- shouldn't people like me for who i am and what i actually look like?"

"Aww, of course they like you for who you are," Ursula purred, drawing the line on her eyelid with one hand while her other hand snuck down to where Lyre's purse was resting on the counter.
It didn't take but a few seconds before she was successful in snagging the obnoxiously happy colored wallet, and she quickly dumped it in her own purse before moving the pencil to the next eyelid and concentrating on her lining. "They'll just like you better when you're pretty.....er!"
A few puffs, swipes, and lipstick applications and Lyre was dolled up. At least, adequate enough for Ursula's opinion.
Holding out the complimentary mirror the store provided for makeup testing, Ursula moved it in front of the younger girl's face.
"Well," she stated, her voice proud and confident, "What do you think?"

"I duno.." She said replying to the boys comment. Sure she'd like boys to look at her but she didnt want to stand out like a sore thumb either! This makeup might make her stand out a little too much in fact......
Coughing at all the makeup that seemed to be flying around her- she sneezed once as well- she slowly opened her eyes to view the mirror. Man does Ursula put it on thick or what? Lyre did not even notice her wallet going missing into Ursulas clutches.
"...W-wow i.... dont even look like the same person." Lyre chuckled slightly nervously. Indeed she was good with putting on the makeup- though she wasnt sure if the color behind her eyes was good on her. "It looks amazing!" Lyre beamed- happy to have made Ursula happy by playing...dress up i guess? Make- up?
"We should go pay for your shoes." She bounced up and grabbed her purse.

"Of course you do, darling; I'm the best when it comes to these sort of things."
Her smile slightly faltered as the student practically bounced out of her chair and towards the register, and Ursula quickly snatched the girl's wrist and shook her head frantically.
"Oh hahaha, no silly Lyre, it's okay! It was...it was my fault to begin with; you totally spotted those shoes before me, so it's only right for you to have them."
She nodded her head to emphasize her words, all the while shoving the shoe box into the other girl's arms. Grabbing her own purse, she lifted her wrist up and examined her watch. "And I can't believe I've spent so much time in here, my goodness! My poor kitty cat must be starving by now!"
Quickly pivoting her body in the direction of the door, Ursula pulled the redhead in for a quick brief hug and tossed a wave in her direction. "It was soooo nice to meet you, Lyre. Maybe we'll run into one another during the next sale?"
Ursula didn't wait for a response before she rushed her way out the door and into the parking lot. While those shoes were a beautiful sacrifice to have to make, having a nifty credit card would provide plenty of beautiful shoes to replace those pumps.
Humming to herself, she managed to catch the bus just as it was pulling up, and quickly shuffled her way into an empty pair of seats and sprawled out across them. Letting out a small triumphant laugh, she dug through her purse and pulled out the multicolored wallet and tore it open, eager to count the bills and cards lying within.
Instead, she stared at the contents for a few moments before finally cursing and digging her way though the different zips and pockets within it. No cards, no money just... stickers upon stickers and doodles and - holy s**t was that glitter getting into her purse - and where was the credit card!?
Leaning against the uncomfortable headrest, Ursula drew out an sigh. What horrible horrible luck. Ugh.

Blinking in surprise as the pumps were shoved into her arms- she tried to get a word in but soon found herself being hugged (rather tightly too- ow), and then Ursula fleeing from the shop.
Well that was rather...odd.... Oh well! She seemed to be nice- maybe her kitty had been waiting a long time and was truly hungry. She hoped it wasnt her fault! Poor kitty...
Shuffling towards the counter she put the beautiful pumps onto it. Normally one would think to reach for some sort of wallet- but no. Lyre reached for her shoe and pulled out a shiny card. She 'lost' her wallet once too often... so she tended to keep her money and cards elsewhere than her purse.
"Thank you!" She grinned as the clerk handed her a bag. She walked out of the store- prize in hand- and headed for home.
~~ A few hours later the complimentary 'wheres my wallet...' drifted through the air...~~
