General Rules of the Role-Playing Subforum

  1. Gaia ToS rules applies here as it applies EVERYWHERE
    - What that means is that the mods of this guild will not tolerate any form of the following:

    • Sexually explicit content or encouragement of sexually explicit content
    • Harassment, flaming, trolling
    • Spam and page-stretching
    • Extremely graphic violence

  2. All other Guild Rules apply
  3. Do not "carbon-copy" role-plays (RPs).
    - Ie., If there's going to be twenty Final Fantasy 7 RPs, there better be twenty unique storylines. If you want to borrow someone's idea and tweak it, ask permission from the original writer first.
  4. Violators will be warned via PM.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask a guild moderator.

Rules & Guidelines For RP Leads

A Role-Play Leader (RP Lead, for short) is the person or person(s) in charge of a role-play (RP).

  • A RP can have as many RP Leads as wanted, but it is generally recommended to have no more than 3 RP Leads in one RP.
  • RPs should have at least the following on the first page:
    - One well-written paragraph describing the time, setting, and nature of the RP. The more descriptive, the better.
    - Rules of the RP (ie, No/Limited god-modding, no death without permission, etc.)
    - Character/Profile skeletons of some kind
    - List of Participants
  • Tip #1: Keep a few extra posts on Reserve in case you need them in the future.
  • Tip #2: Creating an OOC (Out-Of-Character) thread isn't required, but HIGHLY recommended. Chatter in a RP is unsightly and distracting, but use your best judgment either way.
  • Tip #3: Mention your RP's status in your thread subject line (eg, Accepting, Not-Accepting, Open, Closed, etc.)

It is your responsibility as RP Lead to oversee and manage the flow of your RP.
If you wish to have your RP thread locked for whatever reason, feel free to let a Mod know. Also, make sure to have all RP-related questions directed to you.

Rules & Guidelines For Participants

A role-play Participant (RPer, for short) is a person participating in a role-play.

As a RPer, you must do the following

  • Fill out any forms (if any) required for the RP in order to participate
  • If there are no forms, notify the appropriate RP Lead via PM of your intent to participate.
  • Read the RP thread's first page and make sure you understand everything before posting.
  • Follow all Guild and RP Rules
  • Reminder: RP Leads have the right to decline you or your character(s). Don't harass them if this happens.

It is your responsibility to stay active!
RP Leads can and will ban inactive participants, so if you think you'll drop out within a week, don't apply. Likewise, if you are going to be away for a period of time (vacation, bad internet, personal issues, etc.) please notify a RP Lead so they can decide whether to save a spot for you or not. We want to encourage long-lasting, serious RPs that won't fizzle out after only 10-50 pages.

Please direct any RP-related question to the appropriate RP Lead

Please note that RPs are not limited to anime/video games/manga If you want to do movies, tv series or a completely original roleplay, you're more than welcomed to do it.
