Hokay, I shall now provide reasons why you're wrong about nobody considering them to be mecha, where I am able. (Can't do number 5, as I've never heard of it)
1) flcl
The only way my friend got me interested in this series was by pointing out the mecha to me.
2) neon genesis evangelion
Sure, those freaking huge giant evas would NEVER be considered mecha! Seriously though dude, this one is considered mecha by a lot of people, and some of the anime-illiterate have referred to the mecha genre as the evangelion genre. (Yes, I have heard them do this >.<)
3) power rangers (might i add their mech looks like voltron)
Considering that the big memorable fights are done with giant robots (I watched the original series, none of this Neo or Ninja Force or whatever else they've done with it), I would say that it's mecha.
4) transformers
Dude. They are robots that transform into vehicles and stuff. MECHA!
5) super robot monkey team hyper force go! (yes its a show)
Never seen it, but considering the second word in the title, I would probably be safe in assuming there is at least some focus on mecha.

Evas are more like Gaint Cyborg in my opinion...
Power Rangers..... some are mechas, some of aren't.
Transformers~ hm.... one of them, I might not consider mechas, it doesn't really make sense. (Transformers Master Force. Human turns into robot by wearing bracelet, now how does that work?)

Well technically they're more giant controlled humans with a load of armour slapped on'em, but I was trying to avoid spoilers. Note that in my original reply I never actually called them robots. As for things like Power Rangers and Transformers, I gotta admit, I am a purist. Original series only for me, I dislike the newer versions. In the originals, I would say both are definitely mecha series. (As for humans turning into robots by wearing bracelets, well, I have no idea.)

GaoGaiGar Original PR... Season 1~3? Seeing as it's been years since I saw it and I have a shot memory, just think of the original set of characters/robots.

I consider all five of those shows to be mecha.
Everyone considered Evas to be mecha until they found out what it looked like under the hood. Most people still label them as mecha but some people get hung up on the technicality.
Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force is definitely mecha. They even have a giant robot to go kick in the faces of particularly large baddies. As it has already been mentioned it has "Super Robot" in the title and its hard to get more obvious than that. ^^
Every Super Sentai series that I know of includes mecha of some kind.

1) flcl
One robot does not make something mecha. Look at Star Wars. Nobody ever considered it mecha and it has droids left and right.
2) neon genesis evangelion
WHERE did you get the idea anybody DIDN'T think this was mecha? Any mecha fan worth his beans would tell you it is.
3) power rangers (might i add their mech looks like voltron)
People may not talk about it much, but the only battles worth recalling are the ones fought in robots. I saw the first season when I was a kid. I dare say a number of people would consider this partial mecha.
4) transformers
......you'd better be kidding. Transformers was a subject of inclusion into SRW before anybody thought about GaoGaiGar, and it doesn't have half the sentient robots of Transformers.........depending on season. Nobody into the mecha genre would rule this out of the mecha catagory.
5) super robot monkey team hyper force go! (yes its a show)
..........I won't go into this without sufficent knowledge of the subject at hand.

Go go power rangers!!! first ones.. scrap it after the first one. I say it is mechas and the reason they are never mentioned is because they have fallen into the category of dorkness.
Transformers (don't get me started here lol). Anyway they aren't considered mechas because "mechas" are piloted by humans. Transformers are like a race of their own thought NO ONE pilots them and I'm sure Megatron will have a word with you if you say otherwise. The new crap of human piloted robots (masterforce), that I don't consider Transformers xp it's just a cheap rip off for the toyline.

A lot of you say that Transformers isn't really considered Mecha.
Well what about the Brave Saga?(GaoGaiGar, Fighbird, Exkaiser) After all, there done by the same company after all.

I guess nobody else relates them to the Rescue and Ninja teams.
"Mecha".....lessee.....that would be a plural reference to many machines derived from the singular form of "mech". I don't see how they aren't mecha just because they lack a human somewhere inside.
Look at Volfogg! He's a mech but there's nobody inside of him.

All of the Yushas, and not just the ones in GGG are AI Driven Robots...so technichally speaking, they still have pilots... They pilot themsleves 3nodding I Still think as long as a mecha show has robots in it, it'll still be counted as Mecha... Minus Megas XLR of course...
