I'm from Orlando. It's not too bad here if you ignore the fact there are almost no jobs to be had right now.
It also has a lot of Brazilian & British tourists (depending on the time of the year) and people that move here from Latin America and the Caribbean countries...
Shopping and gas located in tourist areas usually cost more.
My opinion about Orlando: Even with all the theme parks it has been dying a slow death for locals. Employers don't pay enough when you have a job, everything costs too much so you really can't do or buy anything. Working to survive with no quality of life isn't my idea of living. I like the fact that there is no state income tax, but I am planning to eventually move out of state... maybe somewhere on the west coast of the country. I don't feel like there is anything here for me.
I haven't been in Palm Beach since the early 1990's. I don't know if it is still the same, but when I was there it was basically broken down into two categories: those with and those without or the rich and the poor.
