Because Runescape is a programming abomination. Pretty much ever part of it doesn't make sense.
Gameplay:
Sit there waiting to do 99999 instead of 0.
Graphics:
I can't see anything, it's too dark.
Sound:
I thought we dropped the MIDIs.
Community:
"lol noob u noob not level xx" *kills you*
That's my experience playing it for two days, anyways.

Well, runescape has come a long way after it first came out as runescape classic in 1998. Its graphics are ok now they have added new ones and members is pretty cool if you ever are one. I played it and quit 2 months ago. Got to lvl 84 but i quit cuz it was the same thing over and over again. runescape isnt fun unless ur a mem so thats all i can say

unknown hidden leaf ninja Its graphics are ok now they have added new ones I didn't even notice. I tried it a few years ago and it sucked as much as it did before I tried it then. (Gonna go ahead and move this to off-topic)

The only reason why I played it for as long as I did was because my friend played it, and he made pretty much anything fun. Then he stopped and I was just like, "Wow. Everything about this sucks. I can see why he quit."
The gameplay just seemed so slow and boring to me, the graphics were hideous, and the community was just so annoying.
What astounds me, though, is that I know people that can play Runescape for, like, eighteen hours in a row. How can anyone do that?! eek
