AIM LOG: [ Lady Kiya ] & _ p a o cx
Tarik had settled beneath a palm tree, content to just.....lie there and stare into the distance. Not that he had much to think about though, but he'd just been getting used to the quiet. Especially now since he'd been there for hours. He watched the herds pass, a few groups of travelers had taken shelter nearby for about an hour not too long ago, some lone wanderers had passed without a word too. Suffice it to say that during all of this the god hadn't spoken a word. With a gruff sigh he finally broke his gaze on the horizon and dropped his head onto his paws.
"Eyes hurt," he said, his own voice sounding a bit unfamiliar since he hadn't spoken in so long. "Thirsty, bored.. why did I come down this early again?" He was, of course, referring to his trip down from the haven in the middle of the afternoon. Normally he'd only come down at night, but for some reason he came down much earlier that day. Something he regretted, no doubt.
Manorama bounced threw some tall grass. A new land she hadn't been in. Making her stick out rather easily with her bright orange fur with bits of blue, black, and white. She hadn't noticed who was close by, for she wasn't paying attention. No, instead she saw the huge tree that she'd never seen before. Stopping her almost in mid bounce. "OH such a lovely tree!" She shrieked and she moved towards it. Unawear, still of the other who was under it. Even though he was bright blue, her eyes only saw the trees. She was quite dumb at times... Well, most the time. She let out a giggle as she came up next to it and started to feel it with her paws. Oh how odd it felt underneath her paws. Never did she seen something like this. Though, she tended to wonder a lot. Saw too many things that excited her such as this tree.
At the sound of another foreign voice Tarik rolled over, spotting a lioness making her way over to...the tree? As she sat admiring the tree Tarik slowly sat up, confusion written all over his face. She was amazed by a tree. A tree? Really? Even though he really didn't want to interrupt, he was just a little bit too curious not to make himself know. "Um, hello there?" he called over to her as he looked over the tree carefully. "Could I ask what exactly is so special about this tree?" he asked, eyes still staring at the tree. It looked pretty normal to him. Brown bark, deep green leaves, plenty of shade beneath it. What the hell was so interesting?
She turned as she heard a voice. Her face showed that she was totally unaware that someone else was there. Though a smile crept to her face seeing the now blue blob come into picture. She didn't see anything unusual with him, not yet anyways. "Well, every tree is special." She spoke looking back at the tree pawing it some more. "They are all unique, and I've never seen one like this before, if your so interested in knowing." She said with a mater of fact tone. "Perhaps you should be more respectful to them, and enjoy the beauty they give."
"I enjoy the shade they give," he replied, thinking it was all the same so long as the trees were appreciated. Not all shared the same interests, after all, and while this lioness happened to like trees they seemed somewhat insignificant save for the shade that they offer wanderers. "Strange though," the male went on. "These trees are scattered all over this place, how is it that you've never seen one like it before?" The answer came to him soon after he asked his question. It was simply because...well, she probably wasn't from around here. He couldn't really tell just by looking at her, but he didn't say anything about having come to an answer. "The name's Tarik, you are?"
She laughed. Wasn't it obvious? Of course this male didn't know her. She smirked at him, not realizing quite yet that he had wings and she didn't. "I don't really pay attention to where I'm going. But keep that to yourself, it's a secret" She giggled as if it might be some inside joke. Which to her it was. So at least he liked that they gave shade, that was one step closer then most with trees. Though she didn't really care about trees most the time, just today. Today was Tree day... Tomorrow, who knows what that'd bring. Perhaps grass? Or rocks? No one knew until she picked. "I'm Manorama" She said putting out a paw towards him rather strangely.
"Tarik," he replied to her introduction. "I'm good with secrets, so no need to worry about that." Almost expecting a conversation, Tarik shifted where he currently lay so he was looking at her without having to keep his head turned. "Besides, I've met a lot of others who're the same way. It's not that big a deal I don't think?" With that he glanced back at the tree, giving it a gentle pat on its trunk. "So really, what's so fascinating about tree? Have you always liked them this much?"
"Nope... Not always, just today." She said honestly. She was an odd duck. She looked towards him to study him a bit more. "What are those?" She asked pointing to her wings. She looked to her back... Nothing. Why didn't she have them? She wanted some too "Where can I get them? Can I touch them?" She asked him curiously.
Tarik looked at whatever it was she was pointing at, and when he realized that she was talking about his wings he smirked. "These are wings," he answered, furrowing his brows as he searched for an answer to her second question. "I don't think you can get them. You're usually born with or without them. Ah, and sure, you can touch them." The male stood up and got a bit closer to her, stretching out one his wings. "They're a little cold, just to warn you."
Her eyes glowed as she moved towards his wings with awe. Oh she couldn't wait to touch them. She sad down and put her paws up to touch them. "cold you say, Why's that?" she asked him curiously. She didn't know anything about gods at all.
She didn't wait for him to answer that before she put her paws on his wings. She didn't think it was too cold, At least not yet. A few seconds more and her paws started to feel as if she was in snow or ice. "WOW! Why are you so cold?"
"I deal with ice a lot," he replied easily. The question wasn't an unfamiliar one, so the answer was rather practiced. Still, he was happy that she seemed rather pleased with his wings. He pulled his wing back, spreading the other as well and giving both a bit of a stretch before folding them back over his back. "These are pretty heavy, so I think you ought to consider yourself lucky that you don't have any." Not that he didn't like his wings, but sometimes they proved to be a big hassle.
"I'm sure if I'd be use to them If I had a pair." She giggled. "can you fly? Or are they just for looks?" She asked him curiously. She really wondered if anyone other then birds could fly, and here was her chance. "What are you anyways? I mean I know your a lion, but not every day do you see someone with wings." She looked at him with a raised brow. "I mean.... Should I be freaked out? Or is this normal. Or am I dreaming?" he was in her wrath of questions, with only one way to escape... Running. Though she was hoping hed at least answer some of her odd questions.
True, he'd been given a lifetime to accustom himself to his wings. They were probably a little on the heavier side since they had a thin sheet of ice covering them, but aside from that they were pretty generic wings. Still, that little bit of added weight was enough to occasionally push him to the point of not using his wings for days at a time. "Ah, I can fly, I just tend not to 'cause these things are kind of heavy," he answered. He kept all her questions in mind, then, in order, answered each of them one by one. "I'm a god, specifically my domain is ice, which explains why these are so cold. No, you shouldn't be freaked out, but no, they're not normal. And lastly...no, you're not dreaming. I'm as real as this tree right here." He gave the trunk of the nearby tree another pat with his paw.
"God?" She looked at him curious and laughed. "I'm not sure if I can believe that or not." Still she wasn't truly sure what a god was, other then the small rumors other's had passed down as she travelled. "Your saying, that your all what everyone fuses about... worships? OR whatever they do?" She wasn't sure. She shook her head. "No... I just can't really believe in that. Though, you do have wings, and they are cold and would see heavy. "Well, maybe you are who you say you are." She was more debating with herself.
It was pretty amusing to listen to the lioness ramble a bit to herself, questioning whether he really was a god or not. It didn't really matter to him whether she did. In fact, it may actually be better if she didn't take his word for it. He could take being mocked better than he could take a barrage of questions from a curious mortal. Still, once she seemed to have decided what exactly it was that she believed, he gave a nod. "Right," Tarik answered, a smirk on his maw. "Well I don't know about anyone worshipping me, but I'm still a diety regardless. I guess I can understand if it seems a little hard to believe though, and that's fine with me," he finished with a shrug.
"Well I suppose some ice creature would. I heard stories of those in the high mountain." She pondered some more. What other questions could she ask someone like him? Would he even know them? Even with being a god? "Can... Do you know if people worship you... I mean can you hear them?" She asked finally thiking that was what she was going to say. It'd be neat to hear others saying their payers to her.... At least she though so.
The male shook his head in reply. "No, I don't know any of my worshippers. If anything, I highly doubt any of them hang around these parts. The only ice around here is on the mountaintops." Another shrug, though this time while he waited for the next question he started to fiddle with a stick he caught sight of a few moments ago. He always needed a good distraction, even if it was in the middle of a conversation. "Anyway," he started once more. "I think it'd be interesting to meet with any followers I may have. I wouldn't exist without them, so I'm sure they're around. Somewhere."
"Can you turn things into ice?" She asked him She looked upon the ground around him. It didn't look frozen. Wasn't it too hot here for him? Shouldn't he be in some ice land area? She wasn't sure how gods worked, but she figured they'd at least be in their own element? She wasn't about to ask him, but then again, maybe he could read her mind? She eyed his eyes again after looking at the ground around him.
"Sure," he replied, "Among other things, but that's one of the things I can do, yeah." The god lifted one of his paws, revealing a thing sheet of ice in its place, though it disappeared almost istantly. He repeated, just to give her an idea. "That's another thing I do, though it's kind of like breathing for me. I don't really notice it, but it just happens without me having to think about it." It almost sounded as if he was bored talking about himself - which he was. When she looked him in the eyes he raised a brow. "What?"
"Nothing" She spoke. She thought it was fasinating... Him talking about himself. Then agian... Who wouldn't who didn't know what the heck he was. "That'd be annoying." she said about the thin ice thing. She didn't think she could get use to something like that. She was almost bored now, thinking she asked too many or just enough questions to satisfy her need for them. "Sorry." She said finally. "about my questions... You must get them alot, so it probably is rather irritating."
"I'm used to it, but after a while it can be I guess?" These days he'd always tried to keep his irritation down, though he noticed that he was almost always pushed to the edge with each mortal he encountered. The male proceeded to lower his head once again, hoping to go back to sleep soon. "An example would be after getting my noon nap interrupted. Just an example, but like I said. I'm really used to it by now."
"OH... sorry! did I really?" She giggled. She knew that even if some other said as an example it was really what had happened. "Should I go? I mean, I can let you get back to your nap, really" She said with another giggle. She felt a little stupid for intrupting his nap. Even if he was saying it wasn't what she did... She saw it was though... She smiled at him. "Well it was nice meeting you."
He almost protested, wanting to let her know that she technically hadn't interrupted him napping. At least not just yet. When he heard her nearby he was just on the verge of actually falling asleep. Shoot, not even that. Still, this gave him a sort of 'out' of the conversation, and with a grateful smile he offered her a nod. "Thanks," he said with a grin. The male then lowered his head and closed his eyes, not minding in the least that she was still right in front of him. Whether she left or not didn't really matter. All that mattered now was sleep, and sleep he did.
Eventually.
