" Poor confused human. Don't let them trap you in their land. Your fate is your own... When your life is not your own and you beg to be free... keep in mind... ' Ta cray nee. ' "

Vega glared at Julian as he appeared.

" Ill explain nothing. You and your kind can have the girl, she will understand soon enough. " With that the Dark Elf was gone, as were the art items.

Quote:
"Have? What good would having her do?" Julian wondered aloud as Vega disappeared. He turned to Mira. "I apologize, though I hate apologizing, for all the confusion that seems to have erupted here. I simply offered you a chance to fulfill the desire I saw in your mind to use me as a model. The choice is yours. You can stay here, you can come with me, or you can choose your own destination." While being incredibly vain and proud, the Seelie King still had a few ounces of gentleness and caring inside.

Mira groaned and pinched the bridge of her nose as yet another Fae appeared. Now she was now surrounded. Calm down he says. Oh sure, that's easy. Four Fae wanting my power and not even knowing what it is. She sighed. She blinked when Vega disappeared. Just as I said... Mira had had enough, she turned to Julian and crossed her arms. "First, remove the mark. And second, what are your terms for the painting?" She sighed again, "As for the other thing, not sure why but they all keep appearing and wanting something."

Though hidden from mortal sight, Nithlim stood tall atop a building not far from they group on the beach. Vega smiled as he watched his king observe.

Nithlim looked at the girl intently as his shadow spirit hissed and flexed. It felt a strange power from the girl. It had missed it before because some thing was hiding it. Some thing still was, but Nithlim now was fixed on the girl.

" We will do nothing. We can't afford to wage war on the Bright Court. Keep an eye on her. If she is what you say she is then we will find out soon enough. " Nithilm snorted as he watched.

Vega smiled on the out side and scowled on the inside.

Julian sighed, brushing a hand through his hair wearily. "Terms? I want a painting, done by you. I can see you have skill and this idea of it pleases me. In return, you may ask for a boon from me. Or for a few of them, if I really like it. Earlier I was simply in a mischievous mood the idea of slavery is ridiculous. As for the mark, if you really can't stand it..." He touched his finger to the glowing spot, seeming to absorb it's heat back into himself.
Her mention of the other fae hounding her caused Julian to grow more serious. "Well it is obvious that you possess something...but I wonder that they are simply over enthusiastic because of certain current events. But they may be correct, you might be more special than we know." Now I will have to be watching this one also...what an eventful day... He mused.

Quote:
Nithlim turned to hear the sounds of police sirens howling off in the distance. A squad car was speeding toward them heading to the Night Gate. Nithlim's shadow spirit flared as night started to fall. Nithlim lifted up into the air as his shadow spirit floated him to the gate. His arms folded and eyes blazing red, Nithlim was out for blood.

Mira rubbed her hand. "Thank you..." She smiled at Julian. "You shouldn't tease me. I am human, sadly." She bowed head, "I will paint you in just one moment, please. And if not with you now then I will have to begin it without you. But first I must do something..." Mira turned and went to the little Nymph Queen of Summer. She took her hands in hers and smiled brightly. "It's obvious that soon for some reason I'm going to have to choose someone. So far your the best candidate. It's just...hard to choose...so please put up with it a little longer?" Mira turned back to Julian and smiled again.

Quote:
"You want to begin right now?" He asked as she returned. "I suppose there is nothing wrong with that, but I didn't think the beach was exactly an ideal place to paint. No matter, you are free to choose whatever setting and pose you like." Once again, the flattery of the circumstance was playing on his vanity.

Meantime, Ellette had reverted to her Sprite form, and was busily flitting about the beach making delicate, stunning little sandcastles and watching with amusement as the humans tried to figure out where they had come from.

Quote:
Mira shook her head, "Not here. While the beach does add to your good looks, the lighting changes all the time and too many people around to do a good paint job. So we'll have to head to my studio, also known as my apartment. Thankfully it's not too far away, within walking distance." She pointed off towards the town. "Then once we get there we'll work on wardrobe, then the pose, and finally I'll get to begin!" The eager greediness she felt in her want to draw him could be heard in her voice. And she fairly bounced with her happiness. And then when I finish his I can work on bigger version of the other two. ...course I'll have to find them again in order to give them their artwork. Oh well. Now, what should I have.... Mira paused in her thoughts and looked to Julian. "Well you overheard them use my name, but they never called you by name. Just by title. What is your name?"

Quote:
"I am, as you heard, the King of the Bright Courts, Julian Raemil A'Faylinn by name. But that is much too long to say frequently, so Julian simply will do." The King dipped into a slight bow, according to the custom of his court. "I suppose we should be off to your, apartment, then. I can see how eager you are to begin; believe me I am just as eager." He grinned, then turned and called to Ellette.
"You need not accompany me, Ellette, unless you want to. Otherwise you may return to your former engagement. Keep a sharp ear for news, though, my sprite."
The sprite nodded once, and with a bow, was off.
{Exit: Ellette to Grandville Markets}

"Now, if you would lead the way, my dear..." Julian spoke, smiling brightly at Mira.

Eschel had fallen back into the raving party, the Summer Queen living up the trailing day as blue turned to pink and the sun dipped below the horizon. As she span and danced wood and sticks were brought to a sandy pit in the middle of their dance. The Fire Nymph swirled and danced closer to the pile of sticks, leaned over and blew a kiss of flame into the heart of the wood. It immediately caught, fire licking to the logs and growing, higher and higher.
The dance changed, Fae dancing in circles around the flame, a ring that seemed almost tribal in their patterns. Laughter echoed out from Eschel's lips between orders to Fae to fan out through the Humans, take a few more changelings and keep an eye on the general populace.

Mira grinned, "Nice to meet you, Julian." I wonder if I should use the tiny crown, give it a card look? Maybe? She was practically purring as she led him back across the beach and into the city.
