I was reading the black history thread, and it reminded me of ignorance in my history class.... Here's the story.
The day before a test in history, we were having a review day. I was asking the 'history buff' of our class who some people were cause I had mixed them up. I asked him who someone was - who happened to be an African-American that pushed for civil rights, and I got the most ignorant response. He said to me, "Are you serious?! He was a black! You should know this!" I stared at him and I was like, "I want you to name every white power supremacist that ever was marked in history." After a few stutters I jusst got up and walked away...
By the way... the person - who I forgot his name... I got it right on the test though - was the one that got Medgar Evans admitted into the all white Mississippian? college...
