Why this topic? Just because.
The one thing that pisses me off is that you can't use certian cards in tournements. That, and how people can word what they're doing so you can't react to it, or it takes you far to long to fidgure out what they're doing.
"In response to you playing , but before it's ability is activated, I tap , play , and "
And yes, this does really work. And yes, it is legal. Just FYI.

What makes Albern mad is the incorrect use of the term "broken" by every person who is new to the game.
He gets even more mad when people beg for good cards to be banned.

That's part of the game. Magic isn't only about getting good cards and making good decks. It's about mind games. For instance, I'm attacking with a 4/4. If you block, you still take 2 damage. But I'm playing a blue black deck with signs of ninjas. Do you block and take the 2 while losing a valueble creature? Or do you not block and face the posibility of taking 5 instead and having a creature in your graveyard stollen? (Ink eyes)
If someone is making a complicated combo, it's your own fault for not understanding it. Learn the cards better.

And yes, this does really work. And yes, it is legal. Just FYI.from your description, i take it you don't like the Stack. it is perfectly legal and make complete sense that people can respond to things on the Stack. that is simply a basic rule of the game. i prefer the Stack + priority rule over the old rule when whoever announces their spell fastest gets it. as for the B&R list, it's there because without them, the games would be unhealthy and you won't even get to play as whoever goes first has the most likelihood to win. if you're talking about the different formats, then just find one that your deck is legal in. if you can't, then i suggest getting enough people with the same interest and request a sanctioned event at your local card place (as long as you have at least 8 people willing to play, there is no reason not to sanction it). my pet peeve about the game is the amount of luck involved. you can have the most balanced deck and skill as you want but when fate deals you crap, you get crap. it's slightly aggravating when your opponent can rip like none other and you can't even draw any threats/answers you KNOW you have.

what pisses me off is players who act extremely arrogant and condescending towards everyone who doesnt have as many cards as them / as good of decks .
These people can be easily spotted by their screechy whiney voices and constant lame attempts to convince everyone else in room of their superior intellect while not making it obvious that they are doing so ( If this sounds like you I would just like you to know that you fail . Its obvious . And pathetic . )

THe smelly old men... But seriously as a type one player wth no powercards and a college student's budget the BnR list is my friend.
I dislike the fact that some of the great mechnics rotate out. How much cooler would the environment be if we still had phasing and banding xd

How much cooler would the environment be if we still had phasing and banding xd i can bet you money 70-80% of magic players can't cite phasing and banding rules correctly. i can tell you i can't cite banding rules correctly right now without looking it up. phasing i had down pat because i made a combo deck around it once (which doesn't work anymore because of rules change btw).
