Ryhdderch going to a place like a Botanical Garden was like sending him to an all you could eat buffet but telling him he couldn't eat. It was... a huge tease really, espcially when he saw some of what was on the 'menu' of items he wasn't allowed to eat. One hand scratched at his belly as it grumbled, "We should have eaten before we came here." He told Rong who was on his normal perch on his Father's shoulder, looking out over the world as though he owned it.

Rong looked around at all of the plants wondering what his father saw in them that made him act as though he wished he had a fork with him. Some of them were nicely colored, others were sweet smelling, but he couldn't say that gazing upon them made him want to dig in... he gave a shrug as he set to glancing around. This place... it wasn't so bad, not as bright as the beach and it seemed quieter he thought to himself. Much to his disappointment he was suddenly plucked from his high perch and lowered down, down, down to stand on his own two feet next to his Father. He glanced up at the man before he turned his attention to seeing how different things seemed from this angle.

Not nearly as nice... though things did smell better down here since he wasn't surrounded by the scent that was naturally that of his Father which seemed to be a mix of sun, dirt, and fur. He stepped forward slowly, setting about inspecting nearby plant life in a curious fashion. There were a lot of things here that he liked, the plants that were of deep jewel tones caught his attention the most though and he found himself drifting forward toward a bush of large, sweet smelling, blood colored rose. How wonderful!

Rong was drifting along, looking at the different sorts of plants. Some of them got more attention them others though. Ones that were darker tones of color had him watching them longer then ones of soft colors and white ones weren't given to much attention. He paused to look at one that was a sort of blue grey in its color to stare at it for a long moment before he continued along. He seemed to sort of wander in an arbitrary manner as if where he wandered meant little to him.

The Minotaur watched him closely before his attention turned toward the other... sort of adult in the area when he came closer to him and he couldn't help but stare. What an odd sort of creature he thought to himself, finding the scent that came from the rather small creature to be a bit odd. Even odder then that was the small child that was with him. It was a weird little beast wasn't it? He couldn't help but to stare at Rei as well. A strange pair to be certain. He gave them a sort of nod of greeting to Liam before looking over to where Rong had gone.

The small, dark haired boy was starring at Rei at the moment. It was the fact that the other seemed to be talking to the plants that had caught his attention more then anything. This one was rather... odd, wasn't he? She? Hard to tell... he didn't like being unable to tell he thought to himself as he stepped in a little closer. He wondered what he was saying to the flowers... and if he thought they were going to respond.

Rong starred at Rei who was suddenly huddling in closer to the plant that he had been talking too. He blinked a couple of times and seemed to be unable to help but to stare. That was a reaction that was rather different then he was used to, not the normal reaction at all. That the kid was... scared of him? He blinked but didn't move a step closer or away. Then, finally he lifted a hand up and gave Rei a poke against one of his horns. As he did so the yellow, serpent like eye in his palm starred at Rei, unblinking as though just as interested in Rei as Rong was, perhaps more.

The horn felt a little bit different from his Father's horns, the texture of them mostly. Rong wasn't exactly a hands on sort but when it came to this one he felt the desire to reach out... it was a strange, new feeling that made him want to reach out.

Ryhdderch watched the pair, lifting an eyebrow. Well now, that was different he thought to himself. Perhaps it was a good sign that he was actually reaching out to people? He gave a bit of a smile before he turned his attention back to Liam. Since it would seem that the boys were getting along in their own sort of incredibly silent way he figured he should see about getting visiting with the other kid's strange looking Father.

"Hello there, friend." He greeted him, "I am glad to see that my son is attempting to make friends on his own finally." He said, striking up a conversation with Liam.

Ryhdderch continued to watch Rong and Rei as they... interacted and he found that he had never seen something as quiet and uneventful as this... neither had said a word and Rei wasn't so much looking at Rong as he was the ground. It was the most quiet meeting he'd ever seen and he really couldn't tell what the pair thought of each other if anything at all. He gave a little shake of his head, "And here I always thought children were loud and rambunctious." He said, glancing over at Liam once more.

Rong looked at the boy as he took a shrank away from him when he poke at him. He blinked before he took a step forward and reached out to next poke the red marking Rei had on his lip as though trying to figure out if he were wearing make up. If the kid was wearing that he must surely he was a girl and not a boy right? He wasn't exactly sure. All he knew was he felt the strangest urge to inspect this one more closely then he had the girl, no doubt because this kid wasn't as loud as that girl had been.

Rong just stared as the question was posed to him, he did pause though when a voice finally came from him. He blinked once, twice, then reached out to poke at the other kid again, this time a more careful touch to the closed lids of the eye that rested at Rei's forehead. It was closed, hadn't moved at all, opened at all, and he found himself wondering if it were perhaps broken. His extra eye was always open, was starring directly at the closed eye in an unblinking manner as thought willing it to open up.

"Rong, don't poke so much I don't think he likes that." Ryhdderch told his son, somewhat happy to see his son interacting and touching but not so much liking that he seemed to be abusing the other boy.

Rong glanced over at his Father for a long moment as the guy told him that he shouldn't be poking at the other kid. He looked back at Rei as he protested weakly against the poking as well and he dropped his hand and moved instead to walk around him, inspecting him that way. He wasn't sure why but this kid perked his interest in a way that Bharani didn't, something about him seemed to tease at the edge of his mind as though he were having a strange sense of déjà vu but he couldn't place why given they had never met before.

He paused a moment so he could reach down to touch Rei's tail next, seeming to enjoy the fact that it had both the smooth feeling of scales as well as the fluffy feeling of the fur... it was like petting a snake that had spontaneously grown hair. It was had to tell on the outside what he was thinking though, he didn't say anything and his features gave away little as he always seemed to wear the same set expression.

"I do apologize for him, he's never been so hands on before." Ryhdderch said, half tempted to snag Rong by the collar of his simple linen shirt to drag him back away from Rei who couldn't be at all comfortable with being poked, prodded, and petted like some sort of animal by his son.

Rong starred for a long moment as the tail was taken away from him and Rei hugged it safely to his chest. He blinked a couple times before he moved to return to circling Rei as a shark might do to prey. Did he like the tail? He thought on that for a long moment before he finally gave a nod of his head in the affirmative, he did like the tail he thought to himself. It felt interesting and it wasn't like a tail he'd seen before since everyone he knew back home had the same sort of cow tail only in different colors, sizes, and patterns.

He finally came to a stop in front of Rei, giving another nod as though he were done inspecting this person in front of him and found him to his liking. It was the first time when he felt something akin to that or had the thought that he would like to see this person again. Sure there were people back home like that but it was different, they were of his village. This was someone he didn't know, someone that didn't belong to those who lived near to him, a stranger... and yet he wanted to be around him. It was a different sort of feeling he thought then tried to brush it away as he didn't understand it there fore seemed to have some trouble with it.

Ryhdderch gave a little nod, "That is good at least." He wouldn't allow his son to go off hurting the other kid since he seemed a bit to on the meek side. Luckily it would seem that Rong was done with poking at Rei and had gone back to starring.
