"I'm telling you! It was the size of an infant's finger!" Meeka bellowed into her Pokegear. Esteev, her father's deep chuckling resounding out into the clouded and crowded air around her. "Seriously, poppa, I've never see a snow globe that small! I would have bought it if I had the funds but...Rin decided to take it and run away again."
Pausing from his chuckling, Meeka's father cleared his throat. "Who is this Rin you speak of, Meeks? A friend of yours? You've talked on and on about the new people you met in Zatao, but I do not think you have ever told me of this person."
Choking up, Meeka hesitated from taking another step. Quickly, her brain buzzed trying to think of a suitable excuse to tell the man. Her father patiently waited on the other end of the line, awaiting her answer. Of course, it was taking quite a while for the breeder's brain to think of something. Finally, she ushered out the best idea she could fizz up.
"Uh, she's an intern at the shop, pa." she replied, laughing nervously like a Mareep among Mightyena. "Yea...she comes around the shop every so often to help out. She wants a job but since we are low on funds...we can't hire her just yet. She doesn't mind it actually and we need the extra help and all. She's a good girl...though slightly crazy in the head."
Esteev chuckled again before roaring with laughter. "Ah ha ha, sounds like a certain daughter I know! Heh, you two must get along, surely. Do ya pay her well?"
"We don't pay her pa. We let her live in the extra room of the store as payment. She really seems to like it-"
Before Meeka could continue, a second voice broke her concentration.
"Me....bor...."
It began, a slow and steady repetition of the same half-phrase. As Meeka grew closer to the source, the message came into focus.
"Mee...borin..."
"Meeka...boring...wat...!"
"Meeka...it boring watchin...."
"Meeka, it is boring watching..."
"Meeka, it is boring watching this stupid berry plant! Can't I come down from these rooftops and come play with you? You and your human parent are laughing up a storm, I want to have fun too!"
"No, you cannot come down! Stay in hiding until I say it is alright. Got that? Good."
Rin huffed on the 'other line', rolling her stomach as she poked the potted berry plant with her tail.
"I can't talk to you." she said stubbornly as a sweet breeze ruffled the sprout's tiny leaves. "You are too young...You probably can't even talk yet..."
Not realizing she had opened her mouth to talk instead of her inner thoughts, Meeka froze up when her father copied her nervous laugh from before.
"You are certainly going crazy on me Meeka...Are ya sure you do not want to come home and...you know...stay away from Zatao for a while? The place reeeeeaaallly seems to be messing with your hea-"
Before her father could finish, Meeka blurted out a "Sorry pa, bye pa. Talk to you later pa. Tell ma I said hi pa. Remember to send the shipment of Moo Moo Milk, pa." before disconnecting him and rubbing her temples.
"Darn Mewtwo..." she muttered under her breathe as she continued walking. "If it wasn't for her, my dad won't be thinking I was a total nutcase."
Huffing again, Catherine folded her arms. "I can hear that you know!" she said stubbornly, swinging tail about.

Opal walked along the street, her Gastly by her right shoulder, as always. The pair tended to turn some heads, due to their arguing, as always. "Nezz, don't play around, I'm telling you that Kebia berries weaken Poison attacks!" The Gastly glared at her trainer. "Gast-gast! Gastly!" Somehow, by her expression and her gestures, the young woman knew exactly what her friend was saying. "Noooo, you're thinking of Kelpsy berries!" "Gaaassssstttt, Gastly gast gast! Gastly!" Opal looked at Nerezza with surprise. "What?... Now you're talking about Qualots! Y'know what, never mind. This battle shall recommence later." Opal turned her head to their walk, showing that the argument was now over. The Gastly at her side scowled, then floated up to the girl's shoulder and nudged her slightly. Opal smiled.
As they continued their walk, out of the corner of her eye, the trainer spotted a familiar face, but she couldn't quite place a name... What was it?... Mina? Myla? No... Opal's face then lit up. "Meeka," she realized. "That's her name!" Nerezza floated up to her human's face level with a look of confusion on her dark colored face. Opal's moment of delight vanished as she realized that she proclaimed her excitement out loud. The girl blushed as she looked around for anyone that might have heard her. Breathing a sigh of relief at the absence of perplexed passers-by, Opal turned her attention to the person she remembered in the first place.
Remembering to stay polite and calm, Opal approached the girl. She put on her most polite and friendly face. "Excuse me," she started. "You would be Meeka, right? From the general store?" As her trainer talked, Nerezza, bored by the goings-on of late, floated up to see what she could. But as she ascended, she could feel in her figurative gut that there was someone else here... Someone of power. In a flash and with a widening of her eyes, the Pokemon recognized the feeling. That Mewtwo! She's here somewhere! But where?... The Gastly looked around wildly for the powerful Pokemon, remembering good and well what happened the last time they met. Oh, man, I hope she doesn't get herself, me, and my Opal in any trouble...

Meeka flashed her acquaintance a gullible but content grin. "Aye, I'm am indeed Meeka!" she said with her thumb pointing inwards towards her bosom. "And you're..."
Meeka pondered about the other's name, always having an unreasonable problem with not remembering names but remembering faces. Sighing to her dismay, she was saved when the stubborn Mewtwo answered her justly.
"It's Opal." Rin answered to her in a simple thought, which was reflected out by Meeka's voice.
"It's Opal, right?" she asked, nodding her head to the name though she believed the Opal in front of her looked more like a Sally...or Maria.
"What brings you here? Out shopping for a boyfriend?" she added on, implying a question she always asked female members like her own age. "I know a greeeeeeat store where you can pick him up something nice! They sell snow globes as big as an infant's finger!"
Rin wiggled her toes as she watched from high above on a the roof of a haberdashery. She sensed a familiar springer and giggled to the ticklish sensation is created.
"Hello Nerezza!" she said through transmitted thoughts. "I promise I won't get any of you into trouble. I doubt I can even see you guys...considering the fact Meeka has me watching this darn berry plant..."

Opal breathed a silent sigh of relief. So it was her... Shaking away the thoughts, the girl smiled at the warm reception. "Yes, it's Opal. And me and Nezza..." At this, she looked around to the spot where the Gastly usually was, but it was vacant. Opal was not concerned. Her friend could wander to the ends of the earth at morning and be back in time for lunch. The girl knew that her Nezz wouldn't be gone long.
She turned back to her orange-haired acquaintance. "Well, it was me and Nerezza, but she's off somewhere, so it's just me looking for a good place to eat." Opal smiled. She felt at ease with Meeka around. Her friendly and... out-going personality eased Opal's polite side and allowed her true self to show its face. The trainer relished that feeling. But she was startled by the boyfriend comment. She blushed profusely and smiled awkwardly. "Well, no... N-not really... I-I don't really... No..." And now her bashful and awkward side reared its ugly head. Doing her best to avoid saying something stupid, Opal searched for her Pokemon, and found a ways away, floating up high, looking at Arceus knew what. What is she doing?...
Nerezza looked around cautiously, scanning the area for the Mewtwo. But she was really startled when she heard her voice inside her "head." Far distance telepathy? she thought. Her power is greater than I thought... The Gastly scrunched up her face and made a mental note to choke any Rockets she meets. Remembering her very small, but still present, telepathic abilities due to her being a ghost in some respect, Nerezza tried to pinpoint the Mewtwo's position. ...You. Your name is?... I don't believe I caught your name the last time we met.
The Pokemon's head started to throb from the sheer concentrated needed to communicate mentally, but she pressed onward. Honey, you better not et us into trouble. I don't think any of us would like a repeat of our last little conundrum. And for goodness's sake, don't make Opal worry. I hate it when she worries... At this thought, the Gastly looked down at the trainer that she had bonded to. Opal was the closest thing the Pokemon has ever had to a friend, and Nerezza couldn't imagine life without her. The Gastly grimaced at her own wistful thoughts and turned back to her communication with the Mewtwo. Wait... You're watching a plant? That's doesn't sound like the most exciting thing in the world.... Nerezza groaned at herself for the next thing she was going to say: Would you like some company?

Catherine wiggled her toes again. "My name is Catherine, but call me Rin if you wish! I already know your name, considering the fact I am having a little too much fun reading your mind and all. Truth be told, I am not all that powerful. Rather weak compared to others like myself, but thank you kindly for the compliment!"
Staring back at the sprout with slight grimace, Rin nodded her head to herself and continued. "Yes, I am watching this berry producing plant until Meeka returns from shopping. I have to keep an eye out on her after all, considering her other Pokemon are not very trustworthy. And it is okay, you do not have to come to me. I will come to you!"
At that moment, Meeka sprocketed around and pointed into the air. "You better not move from your spot, missy! I swear by the name of your creator, you will be sorry if you come any where near us!"
Even though Meeka obtained the attention of several people making awkward glances, she got her point across as the Mewtwo refrained from budging.
"Goodness!" sighed Rin, shaking her head. "You do not have to be so rash, Meeka. And you have been in my company for far too long. You are even picking up messages not even directed towards you..."
"Oh shush..." Meeka said with a small sigh before redirecting her attention towards Opal. She chuckled lightly before smiling once again. "Hmm? Something wrong?" she asked, smile diminishing.

It was then that Nerezza did a very strange thing: she smiled. Okay then, Rin it is! But as quickly as it came, the grin vanished, and the Gastly's eyes lowered immediately. Wait, wait, wait: You've been reading my thoughts all this time? Even before now? Nerezza scowled. That's pretty suspicious if you ask me... The Pokemon floated around the area until she found the Mewtwo a good hundred or so yards away. She seemed very bored to be babysitting a plant for so long. Nerezza rolled her eyes, Look, it's fine, all right? I can keep you company for a while, but not for too long or Opal will start to worry. The Gastly started towards Rin, all the while thinking, What am I getting myself into?
Opal was baffled. Why had her friend suddenly shouted to the sky? Was someone there? Or.... Oh no... The trainer unconsciously straightened her hairband with her name carefully written onto it. "Uh, Meeka?" she whispered. "Was that...?" She dared not go further. Opal knew firsthand how dangerous a Mewtwo could be, especially the one that the store owner and her sister had befriended. The young woman shook her thoughts aside momentarily and regarded Meeka once more. "Uh..." she started, embarrassed beyond reckoning. "Y-yeah, well... I don't really... Well... I-it's difficult to explain..." Opal was ever so hesitant. She had never, never, never told anyone about her difficult past. It was one thing she hated to talk about, even to Nerezza, who Opal regarded as a blood sister. She groaned and unknowingly said, "You'd think that life would be easy for a girl born to a posh family..." Very much too late, the trainer realized just what she had uttered out loud and clamped her hand over her mouth in alarm. Oh crap... What did I just do?!

Rin huffed. "It's boring when one has to stay hidden. Some Pokemon might find it exciting, but it is indeed boring in my opinion!"
Looking down from her rooftop lookout, Rin located an area and teleported from atop the haberdashery to a grocery mart estimated about twenty feet away from the trio. However, she had forgotten to take her speechless partner with her. Teleporting back to the men's clothes store, Rin grabbed the potted plant and returned to atop the store.
"Heh, I can tell that you are most certainly still looking as purple as ever." spoke Rin as she waved at the Gastly to let her know where her new location was. "I wish I could come over there and say hi to you guys. It is hard when I do not have the benefits of my original counterpart...because I cannot transform into Pokemon and take a random identity. Sucks being a Mewtwo. I don't care much about power..."
Tilting her head to the left, Meeka itched her chin slightly.
"Hmm?" she said, tugging her friend's hand with her. "Before you go on, as it is quite obvious you have a tale to tell, lemme show you this ah-ma-zing bakery. They sell really good brownies! You can spin your tale as we sit down for lunch, I'll be treating!"

Nerezza floated over to where the Mewtwo was right as she teleported away. Dumbstruck, the Gastly looked around for her friend when she teleported back. Okay, please don't do that. Where will I know where you are?!
She huffed and settled herself down on the rooftop beside the potted plant, being careful not to let her poisonous gases touch it. The Pokemon then turned to Rin, confused. Your original counterpart? What do you mean? The Gastly then thought for a second. Mewtwo... Mewtwo... Mew? Surprise filled the ghost Pokemon's eyes. Do you mean... Mew?
Opal's eyes filled with surprise as well when Meeka tugged on her hand. She was already embarrassed from her little slip-up, but this took the cake. The girl was not used to people holding her like that. She looked at her orange haired acquaintance. "A... bakery? Um, okay..." Opal looked away, trying to think of what to say. "Well..." she started. "It's kind of difficult for me to explain, and I haven't told anyone else, so you have to promise to keep it top secret, agreed?" Tears filled the trainer's odd colored eyes, and she wiped them away with the back of a hand. "And it's a bit emotional for me too... so please don't be alarmed if I start..." With that, Opal could not stop herself and she burst into tears.
