I just wanna see if its actually possible. Lol. But what i had in mind is a couple of us make a song. Doesn't matter what kind rock, metal, or even techno. But the thing about is you have to have you own way of recording yourself. I can do the drums unless someone else has a way to record them. I have dfh, and it sounds really good. If anyone's interested then we can set this thing up. It'll be something fun with no time restraints.

I'm probably not nearly as good at guitar as some people here, but I can write lyrics/sing pretty well, in my humble opinion.
And if you're really into writing/jamming online, check out indabamusic.com.

Yeah, I can record a couple solos or something if you want. I've got Sonar and will have no problems recording. You can listen to some of my older recordings at www.myspace.com/dustinbehm Let me know what kind of stuff you have in mind.

That's also really cool that you got to train with Kevin Ferguson! I'm from Seattle, and most people up here who know guitars know Kevin Ferguson. Incredible guitarist.

I love progressive rock/metal, (Whatever that means) but I'm open to just about anything. I suck at rapping, though, so consider yourself warned.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you guys like my stuff, Kevin Ferguson is a great guitarist! I trained with him before learning from TJ Helmerich (8 finger guitarist) and Greg Harrison (student of Paul Gilbert's), they were great experiences! I am open to whatever you guys want to come up with; I'll record whatever you want, my chops have improved since those recordings. Something fairly progressive would be cool, but really anything that has groove and melody is OK by me. We could even use it to promote the guild.

I'm pretty sure our best bet with how you play would be progressive. Something kinda meshuggah like. And i love how your groove's are in your recordings. We need to figure a recording process. I figure it would be better to start with guitars first, then drums, then we can do pretty much what ever else we need. I'd think i'd be a great way to promote the guild.

If you dont have one i can get one and do that, unless someone else wants to help. But so far its looking like its just going to be us three.

Atlus117 That would work. And would be alot easier on the vocals. sweatdrop You're good at reading between the lines. We could pm a moderator and see if they could put out an announcement of this idea, especially if it's going to be used to advertise the guild. We could probably find a bassist and maybe a few guitarists to trade off solos. Though that could get messy...Just an idea. Maybe we should write the song first.

Yeah, we could start on the song and maybe post an announcement in the main forum once we have a simple plan of what we're going to do. I might even purchase a subforum dedicated to collaborations in the future. In the spirit of the guild, I might suggest that we just do an instrumental just to really focus on the guitar (at least for now). We could do some vocal stuff if you guys really want to, but I'm not exactly sure what kind of lyrics would go if it is going to be a potential theme song for the guild. I'm thinking something in the vein of Dream Theater with just a little Meshuggah around the edges (or maybe on just the B section or something) and maybe a clean Allan Holdsworth esque chord part. Maybe a dash of King Crimson, even. How does that sound? Anyways, let's keep brainstorming and soon we can bring this to the rest of the guild and see who's interested in participating. Maybe if enough people are interested, we could do different genres, all highlighting the varied guitarists in the guild.

Yeah. We really need to see how its going to work first. Lol. But i like the genres idea. We need a way to start. Like who would wright first and how would we send the files to each other?
