He does remember that his real name was not Heron, though he remembers people calling him that. Where he lived he's no longer certain, though the earth was hard and gray and buildings stretched up and up into the sky, and green was hard to come by, the weather cold, in his last memories. Heron's best guess was he'd lived in a city, and died in the winter. The only thing he does remember is he didn't have to die. If he'd kept his head down and kept walking, he might be alive to this day. But how could he have lived with himself knowing he abandoned someone to die? Even if she was a complete stranger. Someone... a doctor or a nurse or, heck, maybe the coroner. He'd heard them say she was going to be alright. So... it was worth it...wasn't it?
