History:
Weyrbrat through and through, he was born of his mother Cenla after a mating flight roughly 15 turns ago…though she never mentioned which dragonrider is his father, she’s always implied it was a rider. Whether it’s true or not is anyone’s guess for Mishal always did favour Cenla for looks. He is not really worried either way and considers himself a child of High Reaches Weyr as a whole as much as Cenla. He’s spent all his life at High Reaches and can’t imagine not spending his life there - or in a weyr at least - one way or another and feels he was a duty to be as useful to the weyr as much as possible.

Apprenticed to the beasthealers since he was old enough to do some work about the weyr, he wants to go on to become a dragonhealer if he doesn’t Impress.

Appearance: Like Cenla before him, he has a mane of golden hair and pale skin. His hair just reaches his shoulders and is a shaggy affair. But where his mother has undecided-blue eyes Mishal has rich brown. Mishal is well built, just a tad broad, and perhaps a little short for his age. His features are not course but aren’t as fine as they could be, simply pleasant and he favours simple rough and ready clothing, preferably green or brown. All in all, he’s homely but a friendly looking lad.

Personality: While he’s as active as any other boy his age, there’s a touch of gentleness to Mishal. He's nearly always smiling and is very careful about his movements, and takes time before talking to consider just what he's say and how he'll say it. To an observer, Mishal could appear to be a dimglow, too slow or perhaps too stupid to really be a candidate. Fortunately most people don’t go by first impressions, because while his movements may appear sluggish they are simply unhurried – the movements are always smooth anyway, just slower than you'd expect from a youngster - which can save time in the long run as it saves Mishal from making any rash mistakes and allowing him to really think things through. Likewise he can hang back at times, seemingly shy or perhaps to simple to make a move, but once he gets to know you there’s a potential for a firm friendship. Loyal to a fault as sure as eggs have shells, Mishal will stand by his friends.

He has a sense of honour and pride, of fairness and duty and a very calm temperment. If he’s ever gotten angry it’s because he feels he needs to because something is wrong and he /needs/ to fix it - he has a drive to fix things you see, hence the attraction of becoming a dragon healer if he doesn't Impress. If you hurt someone or something without reason he gets mad because he has that protective streak and because he thinks it the most foolish thing...after all, they have enough to worry about without people causing any more strife!

Other:
- Once, Mishal was watching one of the many hatchings of the huge population of firelizards. A sickly little green that barely hatched and barely even scrambled for food...she was going to be allowed to go between but the young Mishal begged to be allowed to try to save her. He named her Cyl, tried to soothe and tempt her with meat, tried to impress her. When she eventually went between anyway he was heartbroken. His mother Cenla always said one day maybe he'd get a firelizard but he's not sure he'd want one even if he got the chance, not after Cyl (though she not actually his) and it was the incident with Cyl that sparked his wish to be a beasthealer, then dragonhealer.
