AIM LOG: Das Tor & _ p a o cx
Ah....night. After a particularly hot day, the cool air of the night was refreshing. And Irit lay on her side on a nice, cold rock purring up a storm. She'd been hunting most of the day, so she'd been OUT in that dreadful heat. And she hoped it didn't hurt the ba-GAH. She stopped purring and shook her head. DAMMIT. No thinking like that! She needed to not start being so...MOTHERLY.
Not yet. She wanted to keep her pregnancy a secret for a little longer, and acting motherly would surely blow her cover! Right now, she just looked a little well-fed. That was it. She hoped. Oh how Irit hoped.
Down below a skyline blue male spotted the perfect rest area and slowly made his way over to it, getting much too tired to fly any further without fear of falling right out of the sky from exhaustion. When he landed he paid no mind to the lioness who was currently sunbathin atop one of the boulders, content to have just found a place to rest. He didn't even bother to ask if it was alright for him to share the same space with her. She didn't own the area, he was sure, so it didn't really matter. Without much more thinking Tarik lay down and rolled onto his side, mimicking the lioness as he waited for sleep to come.
Irit startled as she was joined, her 'snooze bubble' popped. Blinking, her red eyes looked down to the newcomer...and a wide smile crossed her maw. "Well now! I do believe I spy someone I thought I'd never run into again!" She chuckled. "Decided to pay me a visit since you're in the Pridelands, Tarik?" Oh the things life held for her nowadays.
The voice of the lioness was vaguely familiar, enough to actually catch Tarik's attention. He opened an eye and looked up to see who it was that was talking to him, and when he actually saw the lioness he sat up and offered her a smile. He remembered her, though faintly. "Hi there," he said, sounding about as exhausted as he felt. "I was just looking for a place to land, that's all." He gave the lioness a quick look over, just to see if she'd been doing well. From the size of her stomach it seemed like she'd been living the good life, so he gave another smile. "Sunbathing alone at this time of day? Why's that?"
Irit chuckled again. "Long flight? Well, you're certainly welcome to take a rest here. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more peaceful bit of savanna." Peace...the Pridelands was famous for it. And Irit loved it. "Mmm...just enjoying the cool air, and some time away from my family. I love them so, but every so often, I do need to escape for a little."
"Very," he replied, taking her up on her offer to share the space almost immediately. Despite his efforts to keep his eyes open their lids eventually drooped closed, though he remained awake behind them. "The savanna's peaceful enough at night though, you'd be surprised, but I'll take your word on that." He forced an eye open and smirked at the lioness. "Kind of why I'm glad to not really have an official family. No one I need to avoid after too much time with them. Lucky me, no?"
Poor guy...he looked so drained. Damn it! Irit reigned her burgeoning motherly instinct in. It was likely he was older than her, despite his looks...he was a GOD after all. "Perhaps. From that stand point, it certainly is lucky. But from others...well, I suppose one's own view is what matters, yes?" Her smile softened and took on a less mischievous tone. "Has life treated you well, since I last saw you?
"Fairly," he gave a quick reply. "Met women, had fun. I've even gotten better with keeping company." That last bit brought a small smile to his maw as he thought back to the number of rogues he'd met and managed to befriend. Most of the time, when he'd been polite, they were polite in turn and they shared a pleasant little conversation lasting between ten minutes to a few hours. "How about you? You look like you've been living pretty comfortably here."
"Had fun, eh?" She quirked a brow in a teasing manner. "Well then, I suppose you'll be harder to get new reactions out of, hm?" Not that she was looking for any right now. She was just content chatting with him. "It's good that you've gotten more practice in socializing. It'll keep you alive one day, most certainly. And...it makes life less empty." There was always a small amount of emptiness to life, no matter how happy one was. "Life has been...good, I suppose. Helped my brother find his girlfriend, left them in their new home, and now...Well, it's good to be home. I did miss these lands quite a bit."
Tarik chuckled a bit at the female's reaction, nodding in agreement when she said that being able to keep company would save his life at one point or another. Even if he wanted to though, the adolescent in his current state wasn't really able to hold up a conversation. After a few more bits of small talk he finally drifted off to sleep, and taking his snoring as a hint Irit eventually followed in suit.
