OOC: Are you ready to rip off Lion King? XD There it was. It crawled with danger and death, making Shugo's skin crawl, even at this distance. Parents warned their pups not to go there, telling them bedtime tales of horror. Of monsters and terrible beasts that lurked in shadow, ready to gobble up any pup that dared disturb their slumber. Shugo was not going in there. Not alone, at least. His friend Nitish was supposed to meet him here, and together they were going to explore the graveyard. Well, that was the theory. Every pup wanted to run amoung the stockpiles of bones and uncover its secrets. But now that he was here, he was trembling, scared out of his wits. He promised himself to not be like this when Nitish showed up. No, he was going to be brave for her. This little excursion was a part of his elaborate master plan to cure Nitish of her timid nature and make her bold and courageous like...well...like himself of course! Why, no one was brave than he, Shugo! A gust of wind whistled through the grass, making Shugo shiver. "Come on, Shugo," He mumbled. "Pull yourself together!"

Nitish walked very slowly towards the graveyard. She was supposed to meet her friend Shugo there. She wasn't sure if she really wanted to go through with this plan. But Shugo seemed so intent on exploring the graveyard. She didin't want to make him sad by turning back. She gathered up all her courage (which isn't that much) and walked towards the gate. She looked around for Shugo. She was trembling but she decided to try to be brave for once and go exploring! She looked around for her friend.

Shugo sighed. What was taking her so long. He swiveled around, looking for that familiar neon green color. Eyes squinted, he scanned the horizon, searching, searching, searching, there! Shugo's tail began to wag back and forth, and he took off in her direction. "Nitish! He called. "Nitish, over here!" Shugo skidded to a stop right in front of her, a grin on his face. "Aren't you totally excited? I am! Maybe we'll see those monsters our parents told us about." He laughed. "But don't worry, I'll protect you." Shugo said, giving her shoulder a small nudge with his nose. "Ready to go?"

She was looking for Shugo when something bumped into her. She was so scared she scurried off into the bushed until she realized that it was just Shugo. He asked her if she was ready to go. "um...y-yea I think I'm ready to go" She smiles slightly and turns toward the gate. Her eyes widened when she saw the graveyard. It was a desolate wasteland full of bones and dust. Very quietly she said, "o-ok lets go in"

Shugo grinned. 'Excellent! Let's go!" He turned and marched bodly into the graveyard, looking back every few seconds to make sure the Nitish was still with him. With every step, his courage grew smaller and smaller, and his fear grew larger and larger. The fog wasn't helping either. The graveyard was situated in a low part of the savannah that gathered the early morning fog and trapped it until late afternoon. Judging by how high the sun had been last time Shugo had seen, they had a good four or five hours of fog left. The bones were tall towers looming over him. Every shadow seemed to move, every breeze seemed to tug at his fur. He was definitely freaked out, but he wouldn't let Nitish know that. But if he was scared, then Nitish must be terrified. He slowed down so that he was walking next to her. How could he make this less terrifying? What had his father said? To find something funny or interesting. That could work. But they were in a graveyard. What could possibly be funny in a..."Woah." Shugo stopped dead in his tracks. They had come to a ledge, overlooking a field of the largest bone Shugo had ever seen. And there, standing out like a beacon, was a fully intact elephant skeleton. "Look at that Nitish." He whispered, tall wagging excitedly. "Let's go look at it up close, shall we?" Shugo grinned, giving Nitish a playful nudge again.

Nitish and Shugo stepped into the graveyard. As soon as Nitish entered it she wanted to leave. The bones were bigger than anything she had ever seen before. Her eyes widened with every step and her fear grew and grew. But she knew that in order to be brave she had to be strong. So she kept going. Eventually they saw a giant elephant skeleton. Nitish wanted to check it out. She whispered in a shaky voice, "o-ok l-lets check it out" She followed Shugo towards the skeleton. Then she heard something following them...

Shugo barked happily and scampered down the slope, dust flying up around his paws, turned the fog a murky brown. "Oh man, this is sooo cool." Shugo whispered, putting his paw on one of the giant tusks. The ribcage was partly in the ground, making a sort of chamber that was begging for Shugo to go inside. But the skull was what captivated him the most. It was intact and hollow, big enough for a pup or two to climb inside. And was just what Shugo was going to do. Excitement making his heart race, he gestured towards the skull. "Hey Nitish, let's climb up to the skull." He suggested. Hopping up on the tusk, he peered down at her. "Need any help getting up?" He asked, failing to notice the sound of soft footsteps penetrating the silence of the graveyard.

Nitish was on edge now. She could sense whatever was following them getting closer and closer. She had a feeling that it wasn't friendly either. What she didn't know was how close the creature really was... Shugo called to her from the skeleton's head. "I think I can get up there...d-do you hear that" She climbed up to the skull and looked around. She couldn't see anything through the mist. She was very very scared and was starting to tremble again. "D-do you think it is one of those monsters" She wanted to hide somewhere and feel safe. She looked at the fog wondering what was out there...

Shugo peeked out of the skull. The fog was like a blanket, enveloping them in silence and moisture. He strained his ears, trying to hear whatever it was that Nitish was hearing. But he could pick up nothing. No movement, no sounds, no nothing. Nitish was probably just imagining things. After all, the monsters were just stories, made to keep adventurous pups like himself out of the graveyard. With a smile he turned to Nitish. "I don't hear nothin." Shugo shrugged. "Your mind is just playing tricks on you." The pup looked around the inside of the skull, eyes landing on a hole near the base where it met the spine. He poked his head through the hole and noticed the spine curved down to the ground. It was a perfect slide. "Hey Nitish, check it out! It's a slide!" He exclaimed happily. "Let's try it out. Wanna go first?" Shugo asked.OOC: Oh Shugo, you're so oblivious. Shugo: Oblivi-who? OOC: *sigh* Nothin, nothin at all.

She was listening when she heard Shugo talking about a slide. She turned around and saw what he was talking about. The elephants spine sloped towards the ground. It was really ominous and she was still wary about those sounds... "I don't think we should do that" "I think we'll be safe up here"...Her ears perked up there were more sounds now. They were coming all around! "S-Shugo...I'm r-really s-scared"

Shugo sighed. Nitish was just not cooperating with him. Might as well try to play along. Wait, no, bad idea. Playing along would only make her even more scared. Better to try and dismiss her imagination, as, well, imagination. Shugo's head popped out of one of the eye holes and he frowned. "Honestly Nitish, did you get enough sleep last night?" He could hear nothing, just like before. Now it was just sad. Did Nitish not want to have fun or something? Jeez. Talk about a majore stickler. "There are no footsteps, no growls, no snapping, no creepy eyes, no nothing." He insisted. "There is nothing out there." Glaring out at the fog so that Nitish wouldn't see how annoyed he really was, Shugo continued. "I'm going to go down that slide and you're going to come with me. So if you..." He trailed off. A shadow has flickered into his periff, but it was gone now. His eyes rescanned the fog, and he found that there were shapes and swirls dancing across his vision, managing to stay just out of sight. The noises were coming to him now. Whatever they were, they were stalking himself and Nitish. His friend had been right. There were monsters surrounding them! U..u..uh...Nitish, d-don't be scared or anything..." He retracted his head and stared at Nitish, trying his hardest to stay calm. "But I th-think we have company."

Nitish's eyes widened when Shugo said we had company. She started to tremble and shake. She looked around and tried to look around but all she could do was shake. She thought she might start to cry, she was so scared... She heard a sound behind her, and she tried to turn around but she was to scared. "S-shugo h-help..."

Shugo looked at Nitish with an encouraging smile. "Don't worry, Nitish, I'll get us out of here. I'll get us out..." Shugo quickly surveyed the situation. They were surrounded by creepy things hiding in the fog. They were stuck inside an elephant's skull. The creepy monsters had only appeared in the graveyard. So, get out of the graveyard, and the creepy fog monsters would be gone. Sounded simple. Until they tried it. The pup shook his head. Climbing down would be too slow, and whatever was hiding in the fog would surely knab them. If only there were another way..."The slide!" Shugo said aloud with glee. He peered down the hole and looked at the elephant's spine again. It curved down and to the side, pointing straight towards the entrance of the graveyard. It curled up at the end, which would launch them towards the middle of the hill, giving them a good headstart. It was worth a shot. It was their only shot. "Nitish, we can go down the slide! It'll give us a headstart and we can make a break for the entrance."

She followed Shugo to the slide. "Are you sure we will m-make it?" She heard more noises in the mist...and started to whimper. "D-do you want me to go first?" she asked with a whimper. She started to walk slowly towards the slide... and peered down the ledge. It didn't look safe... but she needed to make sure it was safe. But she was so scared...

Shugo snorted. "Of course we'll make it! Don't even think that we won't!" He barked confidently. Because if they did, Shugo wasn't sure if the would make it after all. He took another look at the slide. The angle looked right, and he and Nitish were fast, so it should work. It had to work! It was now or never. "Yes, Nitish, you're going first." He said. Shugo positioned himself next to his friend and looked her in the eye. "But I'll be right behind you. As soon as you land off the slide, start running." He backed up and stood behind her. "No matter what, keep running, okay? You've got to brave." He leaned forward and gently grabbed Nitish's puppy scruff on the back of her neck so that they wouldn't be separated on the slide. "On your count, Nitish." Shugo's heart was pounding. If this didn't work, it would all end here. They'd both die, and it would be his fault. Shugo would never be able to forgive himself. Well, he'd be dead, so it wouldn't matter, but that was besides the point. The point was that it was go time.OOC: OMG! Epic pups are about to be epic!
