AIM LOG RP between Amaranta (nessiaing) and Tarik ( _ p a o cx)
It was early in the morning and Amaranta was out and about in the pride lands. SHe was still working on her skills of speaking to others, to speaking to her elders, it was an interesting skill to work on. She figured the better she was at speaking to others the further she could get in life. She was very close to the pirdes edges when she heard something from the other side of the borders. It was like a lion but not quite. Her intruige peaked.
She looked around herself trying to figure out if she was going to get in trouble for crossing the border without her moms permission, but she felt a need to not let the knowledge of what this creature was get away. She ran towards the creature letting all inhibitions that usually ruled her life behind.

Tarik had been sitting quietly by himself in the shade of a rather large boulder. It wasn't as hot as it could have been since it was still pretty early in the morning, but simply the presence of the sun made the diety want to laze in an area where the sun was blocked out. He was rather lax, head tilted to one side as he looked in the distance. His mind was clearly elsewhere as he didn't notice there was a little leopard coming his way. In fairness, he wasn't aware that these lands were inhabited by a pride.
When at last the sound of approached paws reached his ears he straightened himself out, turning his head this way and that to see who was coming. What he saw was a baby leopard making her way over rather bravely. He knew most would've rather gone in the other direction, yet this little one seemed to run with purpose. So he waited until she was in hearing distance before greeting her. "Hello there," he said, a small smile on his maw. "Is there something you need from me?"

Amaranta stopped when the creature spoke to her, she wasn't sure what to say to him at first. "Hello" she said confidently, "No there is nothing I need from you. I just uh" she wasn't sure how to word this without seeming rude. "I was just interested by you. You are very bright and you stood out so I thought I would come see you" she smiled at him.
"I hope you don't mind. It just I come from a colony that is just over that way, and well we have lions, leopards a cross of the two, but no one looks quite like you. Do you mind telling me what you are?" she looked at the larger creature unsure if she ahd come across as rude or just inquisitive.

Interested? Well there was no surprise there. He once again neglected to pull on a disguise so any mortal passing by with a big enough curiosity could come by and ask him a few questions. He had a handy list in the back of his mind of answers to commonly asked questions though, so he didn't mind so much anymore. "I see. Well I don't really mind so come on closer." Tarik gave her question a bit of thought, but before responding he decided he ought to introduce himself. If she decided to share her story with someone they'd probably want a name, after all.
"Before I answer," he started. "My name is Tarik. Might I ask for yours?"

Amaranta scoffed at her own little mistake, how rude of her not to introduce herself like that. Her mother had taught her better and she would be ashamed of her daughter for being like this. "I am sorry how rude of me, my name is Amaranta." she smiled and moved closer to him at his invite.
She circled very interested in him, he had been holding himself in such a way that she hadn't noticed before hand that he had wings tucked in behind his shoulders. It she sat down suddenly quite uneasy all of a sudden, she was sure she was being a little rude by walking around studying him.

Amaranta, a nice name no doubt. Tarik didn't lose the pleasant expression on his face as she studied him a bit more closely, not quite admitting that he had indeed been a bit bothered by it. He didn't want her to feel down about dong something so minor, even if it was a little weird to him. "Right, well it's nice to meet you Amaranta." With that he went into thought about her question. How exactly does one explain what oneself is?
"Ah.. I'm a god," he started, rather unsure about his reply. "I'm not someone you'd usually run into, since most of my kind disguise themselves as one of you because they don't want to be found out." That was probably the best he'd be able to do.

Amaranta paused and thought about it and wondered about what Tarik had told her. What was a god, what did gods do, why did they hide themselves. It was a very confusing thing to her, she paused while she collected all her thoughts, she didn't want to throw all the questions at Tarik at once, it would be rude, and overwhelming for everyone. She didn't want to be a burden to him.
"Wait, I am confused." she started simply, "Why would you want to hide yourself?" the idea of hiding oneself confused the little one greatly.

Tarik was almost glad she'd asked that question. It was a question that he had the perfect answer for, but this particular encounter begged him to change his practiced response. "Well," he continued, not wanting to sound rude with his reply. "Most of the time we just want to be left alone. Others, much like you, sometimes want to know too much, so we hide our true selves so no one's too curious. Get what I mean?"
He frowned slightly, a bit upset that he couldn't quite change his answer as much as he would've liked. The little one could still interpret it the wrong way.

Amaranta paused, "Oh" was all that she could manage at the point in time. She frowed her brow and hoped that she hadn't hurt his feelings, was she the type that bothered himm. When he had told her that he was a god she automatically filled with questions, but she had managed to keep them all in side instead of throwing them all out there at once. She smiled proud that she had managed that, her sibligns would have simply just been throwing questions at Tarik, and although he was different he was still just a creature.
"Well I hope that I am not bothering you." She said politely giving Tarik a quick smile

Tarik lifted a paw and shook his head lightly, wanting to reassure the cub that he wasn't bothered by her. He'd been in much more of a tolerant mood as of late, which was probably a good thing. He'd been visited by cubs more often now, and he was more of a softie than he'd ever admit (even to himself). He was glad that he wasn't as callous as before. "No, you're not. I didn't really mean anything with what I said. It's just how most of us are." He smiled, again still a bit unsure. "I used to be that way too, but not so much anymore, so don't worry."
As if to reassure her even more, he exhaled deeply and continued. "Anyway, did you have any other questions in mind?"

Amaranta smiled glad she hadn't bothered Tarik. Then smiled again excited that he had offered her the chance to as more questions. It was exciting, she sat trying to formulate all the questions she wanted to ask into a good order, a natural order. She was beginning to see this as a once in a life time opportunity, if most gods didn't like being spotted and talkted to and questioned then she better take advantage of this situation.
"Well I suppose I should ask what a god is, I mean well I know what a god is, my colony has many, personally I was born because of Venus, it was during her festival that my parents met, and well here I am. But you don't look like the pictures of Venus I have seen drawn. And well Gods like that don't exist now days do they." the poor little cub was confused by this whole idea, and was looking forward to her chance at getting answers.

Ah. Thankfully, a much simpler question. With a more sure expression on his face Tarik shook his head in reply. "No, each god has his or her domain that no one else has. Some powers overlap, but no two gods share the same domain." He gave the cub a smile, glad that he could give her a more definite answer this time around.
"For example, my domain is ice. I have a friend who's domain is snow, I've met another god who's domain is the rhetoric, and I've heard there was a god of clouds and another of wanderlust. That's just to name four others, mind you. There are countless more, I'm sure. Some I've yet to meet, of course."

"Wow" she sighed it was unbeleivable so many gods and this was the first time she had ever met one, there was no gods in her colony just the ones that they learned about in the history. "Your domain is ice, what does that mean? And you have powers that is so cool." her interest was peaking and now she wanted to know more.
She was hoping that she wasn't pushing any limits, she wanted to see him do tricks, but she felt that possibly it was wrong to ask that of him, and possibly even wrong to refer to them as tricks... it might insault him.

"It means my powers all have something to do with ice," he answered, not really up to doing a demonstration this early in the morning. "I'd show you, but I'm kind of tired. Maybe another time?" he went on before she could ask. "Sometimes gods look a lot like their domain, kind of like how I'm mostly blue and white. Sometimes not, especially when their domain isn't quite as tangible as mine."
He yawned lightly, unable to hold back since he'd gotten little sleep the night before. "You said your colony lived nearby here?"

Amaranta smiled happy that she was beginning to understand more of this whole god thing. She enjoyed learning things and it was something she had above her siblings now. It was awesome she liked having something to hold over her siblings heads, particularly her brothers. Her brothers who thought that they were so good and so much better then her, but now she had a met a god, she was friends with a god.
As Tarik turned the topic towards her colony she smiled, her colony was something she was knowledgeable about and she liked being able to talk abotu stuff she knew. "Yes my colony lives just on the other side of that tree line. Down by the lake that is there, if you know it. We are all Roman, and take care of each other. My mother is the pride Elder, she is very well respected there." she smiled thinking of her mom, her mother might not be the caring type but like everyone else Amaranta respected her deeply.
