Anybody reading any good books that they would like to share or recommend?
I just finished Angels and Deamons. Which is a very good book has a ton of stuff about Illiminati lore and it was incredibly interesting.
And at the moment I'm reading a book about a more holistic approach to Vetrinary medicine. A very interesting book but I can't say that I agree with everything that he is saying but it is a very interesting look at what might be the cause for pets getting cancer and kidney problems at much greater rates than they did years ago.

I'm currently reading Henry Kissinger's Diplomacy, which is very good. Probably one of the best books I have read in awhile and an excellent examination of the history of international relations. I also recently started reading Jared Diamond's Guns, Germs, and Steel which is an increadibly facinating look at the history and development of human civilizations. I highly recommend both of them.

Well, if you're into Si-Fi, Fantasy, and slight romance, I'd suggest the Dragon Riders of Pern Series. I'm just finishing the first book, Dragonflight, and let me tell you, it's probably one of the best books I've ever read. Ann McCaffery is an awesome writer and her description is so real, it's almost life-like. Plus, it's all about dragons. And who doesn't love dragons? XD

Other than that? I love sappy, crappy romance novels by Avon Publishing. They're trashy and borderline pornographic. *shrugs*

And I read a LOT of Manga.

But yeah, check out the Dragon Rider series. AWESOME books.

Zell Miller's "A National Party No More"
Neal Stephenson's "Cryptonomicon"
Alexandre Dumas' "The Count of Monte Cristo"
C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity"
The Federalist Papers

There's lots of good books, but listing every one would take forever.

When my hubby gets done with them, he's got two I want to read...one on George Washington, and the other is on the daVinci Code. But they have to wait until he gets done, and I have to finish 'Sense and Sensability' and find time around the artwork...*dies*

Lixnia, Anne McCaffrey is an astounding author and very prolific...the Dragonrider series gets better with time! Make sure you read the Harperhall trilogy as well before starting into any of the prequel books, though.

Fitzpatricks War (forget the Author), Anything by Frank Herbert, especialy anything by Robert Heinlein...

College kinda keeps me from reading what I want though...

"No Room for Error" by Col. Tim Carney is about the career field I hope to comission into if anybody is curious.

Why the Harperhall trilogy first? Are they written before the other Dragonrider books?

Also, I'm looking forward to reading Ann Coulter's book: How To Talk To Liberals. (If you must)

^.^

Zell Miller's "A National Party No More"

How was this book? I was considering buying it, but I never got to it.

german_bar_wench

C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity"

I'm reading this as soon as I'm done with my current book.

I finished reading "Arrogance: Saving America from the Elite Media" by Bernard Goldberg. It was a really good book. He made some very interesting points and witty remarks. It was also interesting seeing the point of view of an "Old time liberal."

I'm currently reading "The Fabulist" by Stephen Glass. It's somewhat a fictitious account of the Stephen Glass scandel in Washington's "The New Republic" when Stephen Glass was found to have fabricated whole stories and parts of stories. It's interesting seeing it in a different light, but I wouldn't really reccomend it. Everything's either too predictable or too outlandish.

Harperhall chronologically occurs about halfway through Dragonriders, and the author is very good at layering things into her stories. Much goes on that comes back later in the series. Just don't read Dragonsdawn before you read the Dragonriders trilogy and Harperhall...but all excellent books!

Oh yeah I've been meaning to check those books out for awhile now. Ever since my friend brought out his Dreamcast that had a dragon rider game. The game blew but I really liked all the lore that was sprinkled around.

I suggest that everyone here read Alexis de Tocquville's Democracy in America, yeah it's kinda hard and written by a French guy, but I suggest that it is one of the best books you will ever read when trying to learn more about America.
