Ausha was downhearted again as he trudged back into the graveyard. He hadn't found a god to hunt, and had grown waery of wandering the open wastes. His home was the graveyard and that was that. Perhaps he would try again someday when he was larger. For now though, it was back to the daily grind.
He actually hadn't eaten much at all out there, and his bones were subtly visible on his already pretty skinny frame. He didn't want to go straight back to Chomo just yet, admitting defeat could wait.
So, for now, he turned his attention to patrolling the graveyard as he had so often done before, limping a little still, but holding himself pretty proudly despite all his dissapointment.

Peeking out of the skull-den where he lived with his brother and sisters, Toshiro lifted his ears. A new day, new sights and smells! Hopefully... Scurrying out, he half-acknowledged the words of caution from his mother as he went over a pile of bones and rib cage.
Peeking over a skull, the black and white cub became aware of someone moving amid the bones. Who was THIS lion? It wasn't Safiya, that was for sure, she didn't have a mane like that! He'd have turned to go ask his mother, but his claws slipped, sending him tumbling down the bone pile near the skull, right into the other lion's path.

Ausha was walking on automatic, his paws knew the graveyard paths so well after multiple explorations that he didn't even have to think about where he was going. It was for this reason that he didn't notice the movement nearby at first.
However, even his distraction wasn't great enough to allow him to miss the cub that fell out of the skull in front of him, all black and white fur. He was dazzled. He had never before seen such a gorgeous pelt on any lion regardless of age. It actually took the snide comment right out of his head. First time that had happened.
What was a cub doing in "his" graveyard anyway?
"Uh...yes. Are you all right?" he asked, offering a paw to help the other up.

The cub blinked, then looked up at Ausha. "I'm okay! Who're you? Where you from? Why're you in our Graveyard?" He got up, gray ear and black ear both perked up. Utter curiosity glimmered in his green eyes, his nose twitching with the smell of the new lion.

Now this comment wasn't Ausha's idea of a wise one. His somewhat dazed expression gave way to something much more chilly, the mirth leaving his cold blue eyes. "Whose graveyarrrd?" he even found the hints of a snarl slipping into his comment.
But he swiftly checked himself. It could be a misunderstanding, it was a cub he was talking to, he had to remember that. In a sleek movement, he sat down, running a paw through what he had of a mane and letting out a sigh.
"It's /my/ graveyard darling. I'm Kikausha."
((XD He's so damn possessive. *gets Chomo to slap him*))

The cub perked up quite a bit more - if that was even possible - when the lion told him who he was. "You're the lion Mama told us about!" He bounced around the older male. "I'm Toshiro! And you're the lion whos idea it was to live here!" He finally stopped, sitting down in front of Ausha. Yeaup, whatever snideness was in anything the lion said went RIGHT over the cub's head, for he utterly IGNORED it.

Ausha was chuffed to see that it HAD been a misunderstanding after all, the kid had heard of him. Anything even slightly flattering made Ausha somewhat more easy to work with, he didn't bother with the usual sarcasm any longer.
"Indeed. I must have been mad, of all places, to choose here. Still, it grows on you."
He grinned, and quietly realised something he had overlooked
"So, who is your mama? Do I know her?"

Sitting up and puffing up quite a bit proudly the cub grinned. "My mamma's Ishara!" Why this was something to be proud of, he had no idea. Maybe the fact she was the only female adult in the whole miss-matched pride of lions in the Graveyard... Whatever the reason, he was quite proud!

Ausha did a double-take.
"Ishara?!" she hadn't looked pregnant when he had last seen her, but that was a long time ago, wasn't it.
Wow.
"So you were born here then?" he had to ask, if so, it meant that the first litter had been born on these dead soils, true graveyarders.

The cub nodded, ears flopping. "Yup! I was born here, and my two older sisters, Masika and Nkechi, my younger sister, Jwahir Jaha, and my younger brother, Runai! I'm in the middle, but I don't mind." Yup, absolute delight at where he was from!
