Ch.1 Arcadias first move

The large crystal floated motionless in the air. It spun faster and faster opening a portal. Out stepped a single man. His black robes swayed softly in the cool fall night. He looked up from under his conical hat. His eyes fell upon the lone man sitting on a large rock. He was looking out over the long terrain. Small patches of trees and forest doted the landscape. He turned his head slightly, His face concealed by the darkness of his hood.
"So you have returned. Just like you said once every week. I assume you are here to ask me again." The Man said calmly.
"I’ve come here once for every week, for a total of 55 days. What’s your answer?" Asked the man.
"What’s your name? How can I answer your question if you don’t tell me your name?" Asked the hooded man.
"Why should I tell you my name if you won’t answer my question?"
"Because I cant trust a man that doesn’t tell me his name." Answered the hooded man.
"Very well, my name is Kyle. Kyle of the Immortals." Kyle answered. "So what’s your answer?"
"My answer is no. I’ve told you no for the past 55 times. What makes you think that this time will be any different, Kyle?" The Hooded man answered.
"You are some piece of work there, aren’t you? There’s no getting to you, is there." Kyle said as he watched the man. He turned his head ignoring Kyle. "Uhh very well. Ill come back next week maybe your answer will change." Kyle walked towed the Portal turning his head once more. He smiled and shook his head, a smile spread across his face. It doesn’t matter what you want, I and the others will get your help weather you want to or not. He stepped through the portal disappearing with him.

The Arbiter Moved swiftly through the halls. Passing the armored guards as they saluted him. He had no time to salute back; this was to important then saluting. He turned the corner, approaching the large steel doors. The two armored guards stepped to the side, pulling open the doors, just enough for him to walk through. As he walked in the doors closed. The room was dark; the only light was being projected by the Holo-generator. The armored face plates of the other arbiters shown brightly. They looked up at the last arbiter to arrive.
"I received the message. What is happening, what’s this I hear of Arcadia?" The Arbiter asked as he stopped in front of the generator.
"Arcadia has deployed her 51st, 12th, 41st, and 10th Armada From her Western expeditionary force." Answered Arbiter Shira.
"Leading the force is the Dragoon of the Eastern flame, Chrais. What are your thoughts Truth?"
"I though this war ended 8 years ago at the battle of Galtan." Answered Truth.
"Where are Arcadias forced now?" Asked Truth.
"Arcadias, forces are massing just off the Western shore. Near the Town of Botha." Shira answered as she manipulated the holo. She spun the globe stopping just off the shore of the Dalmascain Sea. She zoomed in on a point just off the shore.
"These are the forces Arcadia has amassed. They already have, their 122nd, 32nd, 19th, and 3rd advanced forces waiting off the shore. Including the 4 other armada's, this makes a grand total of almost 4,000 ships." Shira said as she stood up right.
"Are you kidding 4,000 war ships? That’s the largest force Arcadia has massed since the War with the Precursor's. What ship is Chrais leading the attack with?" Truth asked as he looked up from the screen.
"I believe he is leading with the Massive capital ship, Bismark. It has Latest in Arcadian weapons and technology. Its size matches the size of the Bahamot." Shira answered. "What should we do Truth?"
"Send out or birds, call in every soldier and person who is on the Draft. Also pull back all forces from the outer cities. Arcadia has caught us with off guard. We cannot afford to defend our outer cities. We must hold our line at the Pillars of Autumn. We can hold Dalmascas inner and industrial cities. We must also defend our factories. Dagobah Ill be sending you out on the Charadin. Take the 14th defensive Armada to reinforce the 15th Armada already stationed at the Pillars." Truth said as he looked towed Dagobah.
"Yes My lord." Dagobah answered. He stepped back and bowed, He turned on his heel heading out the steel doors.
"We must not lose this war. If we lose what’s to stop Arcadia from concurring the other kingdoms, If Arcadia takes Dalmascain steel Her Armies would become near unstoppable." Truth said as he turned to leave.
"The rest of you will receive your orders later, once I’ve come up with a plan of action." Truth said as he walked out.
I hope they know what I am about to do. I’m about to send Dalmasca and her people into a war that I see no end to. The Battles ahead are going to be brutal. Truth thought to him self, as he walked down the halls.

Continuation….
The Dalmascain Phalanx men moved about the empty city streets. Running in formation, all around them the city was being prepared for its defense. The engineers were setting up the heavy repeating cannons on the roof tops of the tallest and shortest buildings. Using demolition equipment they destroyed several buildings to funnel the Arcadian ground forces from out flanking the Dalmascain defenders. The Cities massive capital was also being prepped, it turrets were being reinforced with steel and the light 22.cal guns were being replaced with heavier 50.cal guns. Soldiers from the city militia were out in the outlying tree canopies placing even heavier guns. Ship Killers, is what they were called. Able to easily tear through the light armor plating of the Arcadian cruisers and battleships. The outlying desert wasn’t the only place these guns were placed. On the cities walls the volunteer soldiers were uncovering the cities anti-siege guns. These guns were extremely long range, and powerful. In side the cities command center the General, Sir Hamen was directing his lieutenant’s.
“I want the marksmen and bow men on the roof tops, and in tall buildings tell them to open fire on the Arcadian high command. Aim for their generals and captains, Arcadia cant function with out her leaders.” General Hamen said as he looked over the map.
“Tell me how long till the paling is up and operational?” Asked Hamen.
“Sir it will but up by night fall.” answered the chief engineer.
“But sir you do know Arcadia’s ships will be able to pass through the shield and open fire.” said the engineer
“I know but the risk coming to close and being destroyed. What we need to focus on is their gliders. I want the fast repeating guns set up to destroy any fighters’ that come to close to the paling’s power source. If we can hold Arcadia back long enough our people should be able to get as far away as possible. Not only that but we might give Dalmasca time to secure the Pillar’s of Autumn. They might be able to halt or even stop Arcadia.” Hamen said as he turned around. “Tell me when we are ready.”
“Yes sir!” announced the Lieutenant’s.

Night fell on the city the sky was all but quiet. The Arcadian warship’s, hovered over the desert. Awaiting their capital ship, the ships waited and waited but eventually received the order to move on. The ships moved quickly although steamed powered their engines made full use of them. In the near distance the city’s lights shown brightly.
The Ships came to life as the admiral and captains alerted their crews.
“Attention all pilots and military personal the city of Botha in the near distance. Prepare to launch.“ The captains said over the com’s.
As the Arcadian warships neared the cities outer defense’s went off. The Arcadian warships turned bright red as their shields kicked in. But the heavy guns went off, one of the rounds found its mark piercing the Arcadian shield and tearing its way into the bridge of the cruiser. Then anther one of the Arcadian ships went down then anther. Their carriers were protected till a single volley tore its way through the battleships. Their cruiser’s were now completely exposed and were being torn down. All before the even reached the city limits. The Arcadian guns were meant for close range ship to ship combat. Not ship to shield, the Arcadian plan was to position it self over the city and allow its heavier siege guns to bombard the paling.
“Sir those city defense are to strong for our ships to handle. What are your orders?” asked the ship captain.
“Pull up out of range of the guns and deploy our glider squadrons. Have them tear down that paling tower.” Announced the Admiral.
“We must wait for Chrais to arrive to further our battle, and command.” the admiral continued.
