In ancient Greece a king was cornered by the Romans. Rather than face the humiliation of being captured, he decided to commit suicide by swallowing poison. The dose he ingested was strong enough to kill a man instantly, yet it had no effect on the king. Why?

Nope it was indeed poison... no doubt about that... enough to kill a grown man.

Naw... he was all grown up... I think... was just making a statement... that was a strong poison... should have killed him but it didn't... I need to know why... history buffs may get this....

There is a natural antidote(such as a certain food) that he enjoys taking everyday, but he doesn't know its the antidote?

actually... no, it happened... all depends on the poison... no legend involved... just real historical fact.... just the names and identities have been changed to protect the idiots who did this... blaugh blaugh

Was it snake venom? I know ingesting it is harmless but if it get in your bloodstream directly it kills you.
