-Aurora soothed the wrinkles out of the blanket she'd spread across the grass, pulling her bag onto the brightly colored cloth after her. Digging containers out of the sachel, she set them out one by one.
Crystal Acedemy had a nice cafeteria, and her dorm room had the amenities to make simple foods, but every once in awhile Aurora craved a fully crafted meal. Luckily, good student that she was and as accomedating as the teachers of Crystal were, she'd been given permission to use the Home Economic room for cooking when no classes were scheduled. So she'd spent the morning whiping up some of her old favorites.
There was a small herb roasted rabbit buried in a nest of potatoes, butter, and herbs. A little container of a casserole made up of rice, cheese, and just a bit of brocolli sat alongside a few muffins, unmistakably cornbread in composition. And last, but certainly not least, a cheesecake, covered in gooey cherries and small shaved chunks of chocolate sat in the middle of it all.
It was so much... easily enough for two, probably three, but it was so hard to change serving sizes, she'd been so used to cooking for seven for so long. Oh well.. she'd just wrap it up and take home whatever she didn't eat, most of it wouldn't go bad.
Pulling out her art history book lightly, she placed it on the blanket, before she turned back to the food, beginning to fill a plate. Such a beautiful day for a picnic and some outdoor studying.-

Pierrette slung her backpack against a tree and stretched her arms to the sky, standing on her tippy-toes to get the best out of her gesture. Then, with a wide smile, she flung herself to the side and did a cartwheel.
"No school today!" she jumped up and ran back over to her backpack. She unzipped it and pulled out her volleyball, bouncing it from hand to hand.
"I'm going to play outside!" she threw the ball up in the air and caught it, "I'm going to buy shoes!" she repeated her motions, "And I'm going to forget about homework until tomorrow!"
She misjudged where her ball would land, and it started to bounce away from her. Without even thinking about it, she ran after it. She didn't care if she had to slide to get it, she was just wearing a pair of pink overalls that were easily washable.
"Come back, ball!" she laughed, "Don't be mean!!"
As the ball rolled to a stop, so Pierrette slowed down to a stroll to pick it up. Her eyes went over to a nearby picnic spread, and she let out a low whistle. Now THAT was some fancy cooking!
"Yiiikes..." she whispered as she bent down to pick up her volleyball, "I couldn't come up with a meal like that if I was serving it to the Sun King!"

-Popping a small chunk of potatoe into her mouth with one hand Aurora flipped through the pages of her book with the other, searching out the page she'd last been on. Greek archicture wasn't it? Eyes scanning the page, her attention lifted upwards as a whistle sounded in her ears.
Gazing up through ivory strands of hair, she spotted the young girl in pink overalls, smiling instinctively. Though obviously larger then a child, she looked adorably young and happy, ball grasped between her hands.
Aurora's clothing was all sooo serious and lady like, it'd been so long since she herself had worn something so cute and young. Lifting her hand lightly, she waved, voice popping up in friendly greeting.- "Good afternoon." -Even if the girl was busy and just walked back to play her game, it never hurt to be friendly and pleasant to those around you.-

Aurora's beautiful garments made her look like she came right out of the Victorian Era, and Pierrette couldn't help but stare a little too long. She shook her head before waving back, a huge smile on her face.
"Good afternoon to you, too!" she beamed. Pierrette, say hello and leave? Never. She tucked her volleyball under one arm and walked over to the edge of the blanket.
"How are you doing today?" she asked, in her very thick accent, "It's so pretty outside, I'm glad to see more people are out!" Pierrette looked up at the cloudless blue sky before looking back down at Aurora.
"Are you having a party today? It looks like you're going to have one. Ahh, I bet that will be so much fun!!"

-Aurora's eyes widened, lips forming a silent o as if she'd happened upon a tiny kitten. She wasn't sure exactly what the accent was, but it was adorable! Mixed with the sweet words, she was well on the way for a figurative toothache, but she hardly seemed to mind.- "I'm very good, always nice to have a day off."
-Giggling softly at the question, she shook her head, brushing back the braids that slunk over her shoulders.- "I'm afraid I haven't been here long enough to make many friends yet. But that's a good idea! Once I know some more of the girls at school I'll have to invite them to a picnic. A party definately would be fun!"
-Gazing down at her surplus of food, she grinned sheepishly.- "I'm used to cooking for seven though, so I'm slowly learning how to scale down my poritions."

"You're new here, too?" Pierrette clapped her hands, "I'm new as well. My name is Pierrette, and I'm an exchange student from France. I go to Meadowview. May I ask what your name is, too?" Pierrette bounced her volleyball once more before stuffing it into her backpack.
"I haven't been to a party since I've been here. My host family is very nice, but they are also very busy..." Pierrette shrugged, "But even if I did have a party, I couldn't cook such large portions. I'm not all that great at it yet, and I prefer making pastries, myself..."

"Ohhh, that's so far!" -She said with soft awe. She'd thought her trip was far, but France, wow! And an exchange student too, that had to be exciting, if not daunting.- "I'm Aurora and I'm from Alaska. I go to Crystal Academy myself."
"You like to cook too?" -She asked curiously, as she watched the younger girl put her ball away, motioning subconciously for her to sit if she wanted.- "Desserts are fun to make and even better to eat, but I bet you know alot of exciting ones. France tends to be known for it's fancy desserts, no?"
