Anyone here a musician? A singer? Talk about what instrument you play. How long have you been playing that instrument? What do you love about it? Just talk about anything with you being a musician.
For example, I play the piano and the cello. I've been playing the piano for 5 or 6 years, and I just started to play the cello. For some reason that even I can't explain, I've always loved the cello. But I was never able to play it. My mom was the one who forced me to learn how to play the piano (I guess that's why I couldn't play the cello), but somehow, I ended up falling for the piano. The instrument was just something that made me feel better when I was angry or sad, and it was always sitting in my living room with its ivory keys and gorgeous wood. Finally now, did I get to play the cello. It's a very beautiful instrument too. It's spruce and maple wood give it a dark red and brown tone that stands out, and its ebony pegs are carved with the most skilled craftman's hands.

I've been playing piano for about 8 years. I went to state solo competition the last 2 years and I'm hoping for 3 this year! I've been in band since 6th grade (percussion FTW). I'm a senior now.
I still take piano lessons, but it's mostly to play on my teacher's kick-a** piano. Mine sucks gonk

I play Tenor and Alto Saxophone most of the time. I have my own Alto sax and it purple! I love it and her name is Thelma and I play two different Tenor sax's and one is named Georgia and the other doesn't have a name yet but Georgia is very temperamental and the only person that she will work with is me. So it's pretty cool that I have definite instrument that I love. I've been playing the Sax's for about four years now and love it! Though my band teacher is evil and now our band has only ten people out of 8-12 grade...it's lame! But It's kinda cool so we are a close knit group. biggrin I tried to play some percussion and I kinda well...suck at it. So I may start playing with the timpani again this year.

Band geek here. I play flute, and have since sixth grade (I'm a sophomore in highschool now.) While I don't march, I'm still in concert band. I'm not the greatest musician or anything, but I still love to play.

My main instruments I play are tenor sax and clarinet. I play other things such as bassoon, flute, trombone, bass clarinet, bari sax, alto sax, and I think thats it. I'm just not as proficient on all of them. I've been playing clarinet for 5 years, and tenor sax for 3. I prefer tenor to clarinet, in that I think it just has a prettier sound. I really want to learn cello and bass, but those are very expensive and I don't have the funds...yet >=D

I played the violin for five years, had a year of private piano lessons, and am attempting to teach myself guitar. But at heart I'm a choralist, and have sung in choirs forever. And got my undergrad degree in Vocal music.
When I was a kid though, I always wanted to play the harp. Then in fifth grade I discovered that was a not a instrument choice in most public music programs. But I still think it would be a fun instrument to learn.
