So I was going to just lay down and have me a good night's sleep when I got really pissed.

... See, what had happened waaaas... (inside joke)

Okay, now seriously, I admit, I've been way too busy in the past few months to do much of anything on here. It comes with the territory of being in the military. So this is partially my fault for not taking care of this sooner. However -comma- even a complete lack of administration here wouldn't be sufficient reasoning for what I just witnessed.

I thought we had issues with people assuming this guild is one giant RP, but holy crap, I was just scratching the surface. I saw service members insulting other service members. There's a lot of ignorance and stupidity that I tolerate, but that crap really chafes me. Whether we be soldiers, sailors, marines or airmen makes no difference. We all took the same oath, swearing to defend the Constitution from all enemies -- both foreign and domestic. And, speaking as a combat veteran, I don't discriminate. I'll be here a lot now. And if I ever see someone put another service member down like what I saw this evening, you're done. Pray another staff member can hide it from me. How dare anyone claim that their job is any more vital than anyone else's? The Army Infantry shoot, move and communicate, sure..... but they're not doing that all by themselves. (Note the voice of experience here.) Every other MOS in the Army supports them in one way or another. And, by turn, every MOS in the military was created to serve a purpose; the better portion of them were created to support another.

So I kind of began to ramble there (and yes, I did spit a little in my ranting), but the point is this: I can't speak for any of the other Staff members, but if I catch you putting anyone down, I'll drop a ban on you so quick you'll wonder what happened. And anyone who feeds the trolls, yeah, you're getting one warning before the same happens to you. If you see a troll, be an adult about it -- don't sink to their level. Let a staff member know. We may not be on to deal with it right that minute, but rest assured that it will be dealt with expeditiously.

I've been so busy lately with rl stuff that I haven't been paying at much attention as I should have been, I will try and remedy that.

i agree fully with you about that each person in the military is just as important as the next and previous.

Insults can be done in fun and I haven't seen the posts, being a new member here. I'm sure we all have gone through a bit of it (it's part of being in the military) and I hope that was the case.

People who come from life or death situations to back here ... well ... it's hard to put down. From a feeling of power, fear and superiority to selling medical gear at hospitals and only being noticed because you bring a free lunch with you (voice of experience as well- thank the Lord that's long been over). It may spring from there and I for one have always been of the two strikes theory (notice not three - Idon't play baseball). Those things may just stem from something else entirely and that machismo associated with inter and intra service rivalries were used on us all the tme to build teamwork and feed our need for competition (as a species).

Eh, it's late and I'm rambling, but I hope the point is in there.

I do hope it wasn't anything but what I stated here and a discussion with the parties involved will solve it pretty quick.

Oh by the way, Hiyas everyone! biggrin

I also agree with you and I've felt that way since the day I joined back in '03. No ONE person can do anything in the military without the other; speaking from combat experience as well.

Just rejoined the GAIA community a few days ago so I haven't read everything you're talking about but I'm by you're post it was needed and I don't even have to read what was posted prior.
