Basic Opinion/What You Answered in the Poll: I love Yami no Bakura.
Why You Hold That Opinion: [SPOILER WARNING] I always thought Yami no Bakura was one of the more interesting character, and one of the better-developed of the villains, without actually giving him much of a past. It goes to show with how confused so many fans still are on his origins, being some think he's the spirit of the Thief King Bakura, the past life of Bakura Ryou, just a spirit from the Sennen Ring, etc. And yet even with all of this confusion on his origins, we know a lot about him.
He's an evil character who has the goal of collecting the Sennen Items, at first for reasons unknown. Eventually we learn that, even though he is evil, and has worked against the main characters before, ultimately their goals were the same, which was a strange but really interesting twist. But just when you're starting to wonder if Yami no Bakura is really good, at least a little, your realize he wants to use the Pharaoh's memories to bring Zork back, and that's just... well, people get confused from there. XD
So I guess what I like about Yami no Bakura is that he's an enigma. He's one of those characters that deep down you know he's pure evil, yet at the same time are always questioning your own gut feeling. The entire series is spent trying to figure out his goals, and why he does what he does, and he remains crazy, fun, and hot the entire time. His voice is just also pure win. It's also interesting to have a villain who doesn't have some tortured past that brought him to what he is. He's just evil, the manifestation of an evil god itself. He knows his goals, doesn't question why he has them, and just continues doing as he wants, possessing enough emotion to make him seem human (enjoyment of the dark things he does to get what he wants, shock when the tables turn on him, etc.), but at the same time, doesn't possess enough to really develop any relationships with the other characters, regardless of if they're good or bad ones.
So in the end, he's a really, really interesting character to me, because he's so different, and he's difficult to pair up and all of that. Not to mention he's just fun to watch, eating his meat and licking his eyeballs and all that. XD Definitely worthy of being the main-ish villain of the series.
Favorite Characters to Pair With: Kaiba Seto, Jounouchi Katsuya, Malik Ishtar, Yami no Malik, Bakura Ryou.
Rating of Favoriteness: Twenty-first favorite.

Ooh, I like your point about how Yami no Bakura doesn't use his past or his 'goodness' to develop him and make him likable. XD That's so true. He just gives you who he is, and if you don't like it, tough.
...it made me slap my forehead when Yami no Malik begged. That just... he was pretty much my favorite villain ever until that moment... now Muraki Kazutaka beats him. <3
And Yami no Bakura is adorable when he's all, "What?! O_O H-how did you figure that out?! *spazzes*" He thinks he's unbeatable, like, I think he seriously does not understand that his deck isn't perfect. XD Even Kaiba can admit that he's not the best duelist after losing, but Yami no Bakura always just seems to think he'll win no matter what... even though he almost never does. XD

...that's an interesting way to put it. He is pale enough to be a cracker. XD
I loved Yami no Malik so much, and thought he was such a cool villain, that couldn't be beaten even if he was... well, beaten. XD Like he was totally the character that I expected to be smirking, grinning, and creeping people out right to his last moments of life, so he could at least make them worry if they really got rid of him or not. It was just so dissapointing to me, the way he went. D:
Wouldn't he have also won against Kaiba if the sun hadn't've come up? XD

Who would've ever thought the day would come where Yami no Bakura needed Honda? XD

Hello!! I notice the subforums - at least I've started to, there are many of them and I have much trolling to do - but then I'm pretty stalker like like that...^_~. Also whenever I come to the guild through the forum tab it tells me what's been updated most recently - hence my being here now (because sadly it wasn't the sticky that did it - I went to look for that after I read this thread and saw mention of a sticky - *shamed face for ignoring a sticky*), I saw something I didn't recognize and decided to check it out. Rather than go to bed like I should...however I really do have to bounce soon so my contributions (after this ramble) shall be brief:

Basic Opinion/What You Answered in the Poll: All you need is heart

Why You Hold That Opinion: In short: he's funny, twisted, a bit of a social outcast, yet very charming and witty (your classic sociopath - which yes, totally does it for me, in the fiction verse only of course *shifty eyes*). He's clever - I completely agree with Kits that he's one of the better crafted villains out there - and of course love this. I agree with Nightfure that he's cunning and manipulative (this is how I'm taking "ability to trick the main characters").

Most importantly? He's pretty...^_~

Favorite Characters to Pair With: Primarily Seto Kaiba (who don't I pair with him? Out of characters I like that is) and Malik Ishtar. To an extent Yami no Malik and Jounouchi Katsuya as well. It'd probably amuse me to see him with Pegasus, Otogi, and Mai as well - but those would be much further down on the list.

Rating of Favoriteness: That's a hard one, I mean Seto Kaiba is my win, so obviously he isn't number one. I guess he rotates at times with Pegasus for number two. There are instances when Yami no Yuugi, Jou and even Otogi might edge him out as well, but we'll just say he's at least in my top 3.

Hehe, well I think YB is probably the most gorgeous in the series. He's outwardly appealing, but he also has personal endearments that work well with his physique in ways no other characters can compare.

Sorry most of what I was said was the same, I'd like to add more but it's been quite awhile since I've read/watched...and I was way too tired to try and rack my brain last night, and even more tired tonight (celebrated a friend's birthday with Happy Hour tonight, ha ha ~_~...that went well I must say).

Haven't read that arc in the manga - not to halt the convo, I don't mind even to the point of spoilers actually so far as this goes, but of course I can't contribute to that addendum. I was borrowing the manga from a friend, who stopped reading (she plans to finish but hasn't thus far) and therefore buying it. So I guess I'm on pause until I have the time to try and track down and read scanalations, or until she gets off her pause, hehe. Always good to hear about character development though.

Mmm yea...wanna check out other threads so I'll try and ramble better later, hehe...^_^
