Hmm.

It certainly had a been a while since Bakunja himself had last encountered a soul from the Mizimu'Tungika and the more he dwelt upon the incidents of late seemed as if to draw to a rather obvious conclusion; the tension was escalating. He could feel it- that sick, strange darkness was growing thick within the air as the air itself began to carry the metallic, acrid musk of blood as brawls became more numerous and the boundaries between the Dhati and the Mizimu seemed to thin. The more the cogs of the older male's mind continued to turn it would seem that a grin became more inclined to curl upon his maw ever so slightly. Webs which had been woven at the beginning still remained intact, entwined with methodical plans and procedures as the prize which he sought, as well as the rest of the Dhati, became less obscure. Surly within time that moment which Bakunja himself sought so dilligently would come and, at last, he would be able to finally complete that which he had begun.

Treading along the border, the males large in stature demeanor seemed to stalk within the darkness with a strage grace. It had become a routine of walking along the border but it would seem that this night his senses were pricked and alert by the foreign smell of something or, perhaps, someone. Flicking his tail behind him,

Bakunja narrowed his eyes slightly as they scanned across the horizon.

A chuckle emitted from the depths of his chiest. "I know you're out there," he coyly remarked, canting his head to the side ever so slightly as his claws retracted from out of his toes and tapped upon the ground almost impatiently. That unfamiliar scent that wafted upon the passing breeze was toxic, stirring up a rush of sensations as already his veins were administering a heavy dose of adrenaline and testosterone mix to pulsate through his body and such a mix was rejuvinating as it began to change the mindframe and state of the older male. It was time to fight and Bakunja welcomed it with open paws.

Jelani was well being himself, he really wasn't worried about the war his pride was now in, after all he was too laid back and while there were females in the pride he was happy. Females were his life, the reason he lived, they were.... his. At least thats what he would like to think. Of course he still did all his duties, he had to after all. He watched the borders daily checking to see if anyone was about or near by. He had caught the scent of lions a few times but hadn't seen one in a while.

He let out a soft sigh as he patrolled today, he didn't expect to see anyone especially as it was later then normal. Everything was so odd recently, nothing seemed to be how it should be. He continued his walk, his eyes darting here and there hoping beyond hope that someone would be out there.

Then he heard it. A voice. He smirked, at last something to do! It was a male voice to so it wasn't like he would have any issues with fighting him, after all any male was a threat to Jelani.

He flexed his claws and lowered his body to the ground as he creaped forwards ready to pounce the second the stranger came in to view.

Ah, so it seemed the individual wanted to come out and play? Bakunja's expression if only lengthened as a more aroused and oddly feral sound rumbled from out of his chest as his ears flicked, swiveling towards the sound that softly broke against nights drapped darkness and stil sounds. Turning in the direction of where the unfamiliar scent was pungent and strong, the male's posture tensed as muscles rippled underneath fur and conjured up resistence- tension building within his paws for that opportune moment to lunge forward and begin a match of claw and fangs. Drawing his eyes to where his nose had been lured to, the spiderwebbed male again sounded a deep chuckle as his body's weight was shifted to his back legs. Oh how he hated waiting and rather than waiting for some juvenile and drawn out stall-mate for someone to make the first move it would seem that Bakunja would simply dive right into the heart of what was to be a rather eventful night.

Suddenly the male propelled himself forward, claws outstretched as awaiting jaws gaped ajar. "Lets begin," he laughed, Bakunja's voice twisted with both amusement and an eagerness.

Patience was a virtue but this? No. Brawls were too engaging to be put on the backburner.

Jelani was on the attack now, he was more then happy to rip this male apart, to claw his eyes out, rip his ears. He wanted this male dead if possible, dead dead would be amazing. He smirked while snarling at the same time. He swiped his claws at the males head hoping to hit him hard. This was going to be a good fight, Jelani could feel it.

At last a fight! He had felt so left out hearing all the stories of fights from the other males and at last here he was happily attacking a male, not knowing who he was, whether he even was one of them. He didn't care anymore, even if the male was a rogue he was going to attack it, he was going to rip it to pieces. This male was going to die and Jelani was going to kill him. At least thats what he hoped.

The collision of bodies came fast but along with it it seemed that his newfound opponents claws latched onto his shoulders just behind its blade. Bakunja gritted his jowls as both momentum and proplusion caused him to twist slightly, body attempting to find stability as his claws fervently latched onto the ground or whatever steady foundation could bear to steady him. For a moment the spiderwebbed male flared his nostrils as he intook a deep breath, his eyes narrowing a bit more dangerously as the cogs of his mind were beginning to turn and conjure a plan. For what was the thrill of battle without having a plan or strategy? It was senseless to simply run into something with the intention of mauling and rendering ones opponent apart if only to rely on ones claws and fangs. Wit was importanta nd a vital necessity when it came to all things confrentation and by the looks of it, it would seem that this male was all brawn and little brains.

Oh how wonderful.

Bakunja, likewise, could feel that he was going to enjoy this rendevouz.

Quickly, Bakunja whipped his body around as he could feel the claws tear down his shoulder but loosen. That searing pain stung with a vengeance yet the older lion brushed it aside. He'd worry about that later. Struggling free, Bakunja pivoted around and suddenly barrled towards the other male as he lowered his head. With all of his force, Bakunja thrusted his weight, as well as his head leading the way, into the others side.

There was no doubt that Jelani didn't use brains, he didn't have any, everything to do with him was really rather spontaneous and always for his own enjoyment. His life was for pleasure and just pleasure. He saw no reason in living if you weren't going to enjoy it, which is why he was more then happy to fight. He knew he was going to enjoy it.

As he lost his grip on the other lion he moved away only to then be pushed in the side and it took all of Jelani's skill to keep himself on his paws. How he didn't loose his balance he wasn't sure but at least he was still standing otherwise this fight would have taken a turn for the worse.

Instead as he was being pushed he swung his head round hoping to bite something, anything. He needed to stop the pushing because he wasn't sure how long he could keep himself up.

To say the least this was becoming somewhat interesting yet boring at the same time. Amidst the jaws that seemed to latch onto his mane Bakunja chuckled. Ah, so it seemed that this one was rooting itself so fervently onto the ground, hmm? Perhaps now was the time for the older male to become more assertive. His opponents maw was still dangerously near his shoulder and who knew how long it would continue to find itself latced within his thick mane certianly wouldn't last for too much longer. Snarling, Bakunja suddenly twisted his body as his right forepaw, along with its unsheathed claws, lashed out against the other. Even still Bakunja was forcing his weight upon the other, attempting to find a faultering point, something to break away from this stall-mate that was if only aggitating the older male. On the one paw, it was simply perfect as a rather devious plan was all but formulating with something to, hopefully, throw the other for a loop but all the while this petty engagement was dragging on with a lackluster appearance.

From out of the corner of his eye, Bakunja glanced back behind him. it seemed that the plan that he was piecing together just got better. A hearty tree whose trunk was thick and rugged, full around with a great girth, seemed to be a missing link to what could be more than just a perfect turn of events. A small smirk curled upon the older males maw as he chuckled deeply from his chest.

With another swipe directed towards the others face, Bakunja then scuffled back a bit as the distance between himself and the tree. Perhaps it was foolish to hit and run back just a bit but there was so much more- besides, baiting the other seemed almost rather fun.

Just a bit closer...

Jelani snarled as he dodged the attack and then was slightly surprised when the male moved back. He wasn't one for thinking during fights but he also didn't follow the male, he needed the small rest break to get him self back in shape. He had tired a little holding his ground and so he took the opportunity to get himself back in to focusing on the fight.

Then he went for the male.

He really was predictable but then that was just what he was like. He loved to do things and he didn't think about them. Thinking could come later when he had been cornered and attacked and near dead, the he could think back to where he went wrong and maybe think that he should have done some thinking earlier. It wasn't Jelani though and so he pounced at the male, doing what the other male probably wanted him to do.

For a few moments Bakunja simply watched while he flicked a single ear rather curious of what was going to happen. He had to admit that his opponent certainly was interesting in being so bull headed and driven perhaps to maim and render him into nothing but a pulp of fur and flesh. Ah, it seemed that he embodied that Mizimu mentality- the one of which often blinded ones pertinant intuition with that need, desire even, to kill. It seemed almost mindless but even mindless was rather dangerous, wasn't it? Between the period of rest that each competitor took the older male slipped onto his haunches while eerie orbs continued to stay a-fixed upon the one before him. Truly he had doubted that the other would come if only for a split second before he noticed a change in posture, muscles rippling under fur and then the initial charge which only caused Bakunja himself to grin broadly, laughing to himself deeply. Could the other not contain himself or stay stagnant for too long? Perhaps yet it was that eagerness which had certainly hook, lined and sinkered the other into the perfect position which the older male had simply been waiting for.

As the other chraged and lumbered forward in full speed, Bakunka waited before the other came within distance. Suddenly the older male threw his paws around the other male head, claws latching into whatever they could seem to grasp be ith mane or flesh, and fell down upon his back. As momentum and gravity seemed to pull Bakunja down to the earth the lion kicked up his back paws upwards and jammed them, hopefully, into his oppenents underside although not as a dealing blow but if only to distribute the weight between his latched paws around his attackers body and the weight that was accumulated towards his back legs. The motion was quick and with momentum pulling the older lion back onto the ground and the tension taunt within his back legs it was time.

With assistance from the other males momentum and Bakunja's own, the spiderwebbed male Kicked his back legs upwards and thrusted his body backwards in a backwards summersault of sorts if only to send his assaliant forward with a newfound propulsion and a hopeful face to face meeting between attacker and tree.

Jelani wasn't sure what it was that was happening before it happened, he could feel the blood from where he was attacked and it was luck that meant he didn't hit the tree as he tripped as he was running thanks to the males attack. He was able to get up quick enough and cursed himself for being so stupid.

He turned around quickly hoping that he would be able to see what the other lion was doing before he attacked again, Jelani wasn't doing well here at all. He needed to get the male and hold on tight. He was bleeding from quite a few cuts now and something had to happen or he would be the dead one.

Damn! Although Bakunja's plan was quite meticulous and crafted with a methodical purprose it seemed that somehow this one was being dealt a fortunate side of luck- the older male smirked a bit wryly with a highly amused rumble sounded from his chest, tail flicking while he ambled back to his paws. Certainly it had been a hell of a match, an interesting one to say the least but this was only a simple squirmish for now at least and there was no sense in attempting to kill or even further render the other asunder as Bakunja himself was certain that the younger male had learned a valuable lesson or, well- so he hoped. If anything it was a decent taste of what the Mizimu would be facing. An invigorated sense seemed to fill the spiderwebbed male with a bit of redemption concerning the last encounter he had with one from the Mizimu'Tungika. But for the moment that mishap was all but forgotten and replaced with that taste of victory; a very taste which was savored above all else.

Snorting slightly as the other turned back around, Bakunja bounded forward and gave a hefty swipe of his paw towards the other, the blow directed at his opponents face if only a final warning, albeit a silent one, if the other wanted to continue. A decision to persist in the head of battle would certain be mindless- even Bakunja himself though that the one before him couldn't possibly be so oblivious to such a matter of fact.

As his paw fell back towards the ground, a warning growl thrummed from the back of his throat.

"This is the part where you run away," he smirked, an estranged, misplaced grin curling upon his maw.

Jelani wasn't sure what to do, his pride told him to stay and fight till the death if need be but it wouldn't be a clever thing to do.

"You go back to your good for nothing leaders, tell them they will all die. No point killing you if you have a message to take. You aren't worth my time anyway." At least that made him feel as if he had the respect even if he really didn't in the slightest. Well sometimes some things just had to happen the way they did.

So he turned and fled, he was in pain and he was still bleeding but for now he was away and alive and his pride was wounded. At least there was no girl about so he could make up some heroic story when he got back to the pride.
