Destiny: To give life to three birds. Damon was destined to be born a human boy who, at the age of eight, wandered into a distant forest and noticed a nest of eggs unnattended in a tree. For several weeks, every day, he would climb the tree and sit on the eggs to keep them warm. On the forty third day, two weeks after three birds had hatched, he lost his footing and fell from the tree, hitting his temple against a protruding branch and dying instantaneously. The birds sat on his body for three days, one day of mourning for each of them, before taking flight.
