For its 50th Anniversary, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu up against a big tank of a car, a 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air. The video and results are intriguing. http://www.iihs.org/50th/default.html

That is a huge difference. It is really night and day like they said in the article. The Bel Air with its A pillar bent way back is a scary sight, while the Malibu's cabin seems to be totally unaffected.

Augh.
Stop smashing these cars up! They don't make them anymore. This is like doing a test of what's more durable, a new silicate-compund vase, or a Ming Vase.
Like all those damn chargers they smashed up for the goddamn dukes of hazzard movie.

And the worst part, the movie wasn't even all that good, so they went to waste.

Millefune And the worst part, the movie wasn't even all that good, so they went to waste. Seriously. I'm all for Daisy dukes and a pair of nicelegs in em', but... they only make up for so much. sad
