It was a pretty slow day for Roy. He was stuck egg-sitting while Kaoru went off someplace. He yawned widely and took his eyes off of the egg for a few minutes to work on some paperwork when all of a sudden he heard a loud crack. He nearly jumped out of his chair when he heard the sound. He looked around for a few moments, trying to look for the sound and where it came from. Another crack filled the air followed by another and then another. Roy turned his gaze to the egg to see cracks along its length.

He panicked slightly as he ran to the egg and pressed his paws against it. He muttered to himself as parts of the shell began to fall away. "Darn it. Kaoru is going to kill me!" he said to himself. After a few moments the last of the egg shell fell away revealing a small kit. Roy tilted his head to one side and gazed at the kit. The small kit uncurled his body, opened his eyes and stared up at Roy. "Pa..pa?" the small kit said, his voice a little shaking and uncertain of who he was staring at.

Roy shook his head slightly and looked up to see if Kaoru was nearby. After a few seconds he gazed back down at the kit...only to see that the kit wasn't there. He sighed and turned around to see the kit on top of his desk. "Damn it," he muttered under his breath. It seemed that having a kit was more work for him than it seemed.

Roy, by the time that Kaoru had gotten home, had tried to get the kit off of his desk but failed miserably. He turned his head around, revealing several bite marks on his ears and the young kit slung over his back. "When is not the issue for when the little kit hatches, dear," he said to her as he walked over to her. "It seems like he wanted to hatch while you were out and about so he did." He sighed as he shrugged the young kit off of his shoulders and onto the ground. The kit ran away from Roy and between Kaoru's forelegs. "Meanie!" the young kit yelled at his father.

Tempest looked up at Kaoru and tilted his head to one side. "Ma...ma?" he asked curiously, not really sure if that was the right answer. He looked down at Roy in front of him and tilted his head the other way. "Papa, is this mama?" he asked Roy. Roy nodded his head slightly at his son. "Yes, Tempest. This is your mother." Tempest looked down at his tails, then at Roy's, and then at Kaoru's. "Why am I different?" Roy shrugged slightly. "My father...had brown hair." Roy knew that was a lie but he couldn't tell the poor kit that he was adopted. 'Maybe when he is older I will tell him,' Roy silently told himself.

"So, what am I getting?" Tempest asked his mother, his tails wagging slightly as he tried to look inside of the bag that Kaoru brought inside.

Tempest looked at the clothing curiously then down at his 'bare' flesh. "Clothes...for me?" He tilted his head to one side and looked at the pendant. It looked much too big for him now, but soon he would grow into it. "Don't worry. If the clothes get too big I am sure your mother will let them out a bit," Roy said to his adopted son. Tempest nodded his head and took the clothes and pendant from his mother. "Thank you," he said quickly before scampering under his father's desk to get into his new clothes.

"I don't know if I do have any. I came here as an adult. Though I might know...nah, he probably doesn't have any that will suit Tempest," Roy said, pondering out loud.

"Yeah, it's Maes. Though I am not sure if he has anything for boys. Maybe girls but not boys." Roy tilted his head to one side and sighed. "Yeah, maybe. We can make Maes Godfather of little Tempest in case anything happens to us."

"Yeah, no kidding," Roy muttered under his breath. "Either that or he might suffocate the poor kid with his constant attention and love."

"And I don't want to talk to FullMetal mainly because we aren't on speaking terms right now," Roy said gruffly. "Hopefully Maes remembers how to raise a child or else Temptest might grow up to be a rebel...or worse"
