Claire is a high spirited, but emotional young woman. She is bouncy, and determined. She is also very easy to get along with and developes a friendship with most of the people she meets. She is especially a family oriented person, with a strong bond to her brother, Chris.
*Claire Redfield; A History*
At a young age, Claire lost her parents in a terrible car crash. As a result, she lived the rest of her adolescent life with her brother, Chris, whom she leaned on for support and guidance. They developed a strong bond that was tested when Claire graduated from high school and headed off to college. Before she left she found out that Chris was going to volunteer to join an elite branch of the R.P.D known as S.T.A.R.S. While she didn't exactly like the idea, she knew there was no way to stop him. During college, Claire explored all avenues and developed a love for motorcycles. So much so that she even saved up the money to purchase her first bike. Just when things were starting to blossom for Claire, worry and devastation hit once again when there had been news of a disaster in the Arklay Mountains which were on the outskirts of Raccoon city. When she was unable to contact her brother, Claire jumped on her motorcycle leaving school behind and set her sights on finding Chris.
However, upon entering the city Claire found not Chris, but instead havoc and chaos. As she searched for signs of life she was attacked by the undead. Shocked, she was defenseless as one tried to bite her. Luckily, she was saved by a young RPD officer named Leon S. Kennedy. Together they decided to look for a way out of the city. During their escape Leon and Claire got separated and Claire found herself in sticky situations, one of which included being stalked by William Birkin, an umbrella scientist who was infected with the G-virus. However, Leon and Claire managed to escape while also saving Sherry Birkin, the daughter of William. Not long after their escape, Leon urged Claire to leave them and go search for her brother.
Three months after her escape from Raccoon City, Claire headed over to Europe to hopefully find her lost brother Chris. Having no luck, she even got imprisoned at a small island far off in the sea, which had been hit with a viral outbreak. During her attempt to escape, she ran into Steve Burnside, another prisoner on the island, and they eventually joined forces. Claire also had a run-in with her brother's old rival, Albert Wesker, who decided to leave her as "bait" to get Chris to arrive at the island. Steve and Claire eventually found a cargo plane and escaped from the island. However Alfred Ashford, an enemy, rerouted the plan to send them instead to Antarctica which had also been infected with the virus. They ended up finding an Australian research base nearby, but got caught by Alfred's sister Alexia. Yet Chris arrives and ends up rescuing both of them, but unfortunately Steve ended up getting infected and never made it out. Chris and Claire vowed then that Umbrella had to fall once and for all!
Recently, Claire had joined a non-government organization called Terra Save, which campaigned against Bio-terrorism. When she had arrived in Harvardville Airport to meet a friend who was also part of Terra Save, she found herself caught up in a Bio-terrorism event after an outbreak of the t-virus had occurred within the airport. As she was stuck in the airport, Claire tried to find a way to escape with the others that were with her and ended up running into an old friend, Leon Kennedy. When Leon and the rest of the evac team escorted them out of the airport, she was asked to accompany Frederick Downing, the director of WilPharma, to the pharmaceutical compound. Once there she learned that the G-Virus was being kept there. When she had called Leon, a time bomb set off, causing a shard of glass to embed itself within her leg severely affecting her mobility. While escaping WilPharma, Claire tried to help Leon and Angela Miller, a member of the evac team, from Curtis Miller, who had been infected with the G-virus. Once the three escaped the compound they cornered Frederick who had been involved with the attacks in India and Harvardville and ended up arresting him. Claire and Leon opted to try and meet again under more normal circumstances and then parted ways.
