The savanahaa's tall grass ruffled as a slender yellow body slowly made its way through. The sound of the engine had finally been lost, for now. The yellow hyeetah's eyes light up as it spotted its familiar friend. Like a bolt of lightning, the hyeetah appeareed next to a large Angelic male. "Joch! There you are! You're okay! You're okay!" The little hyeetah bounced repeatidly around him.

The angelic male, Joch, had been basking in the sun's warm glow. He barely moved as he spotted something coming quickly towards him. "Breath Sparky. Of course I'm okay. Why wouldn't I be?" Joch asked, followed by flicking his tongue against his paw. Sparky was what he had learned to call the girl. To be honest, he never knew what the girl's name was. Nor did she show signs of knowing what her name was.

Sparky took a deep breath in, before explaining her concern. "Well, I woke up this morning. Caught a small little bird, then walked..." She looked up to see Joch giving her the look to hurry up. "Okay. Okay. So, then all of a sudden, there was a rumble sound and everyone scattered!" At this point she quickly disappeared and popped up on the otherside of Joch. "And I was all like, 'Ah!'." Her voice grew louder at each word. She dropped to the ground and rolled, only to spring up to her feet when she was ready to finish her tale. "And then this large truck thingy came out. But I wouldn't let them catch me. 'Cause you know me, I'm lightning fast." She smiled proudly and sat like a solider. Waiting for her mentor to give her sometype of praise.

He didn't know what it was, but it definitely had his attention. The shiny green animal glistened in the sunlight, perched on top of four round black legs. Naito had never seen such a creature before. The monkey-like creatures circling around the animal captivated him more. They walked strangely, using only their hind legs. They wielded strange silver sticks that shined just like the green creature they crowded around. It didn't make any sense to him. Why wasn't the green creature fleeing? Was it trapped by the two-leggers? Was it their pet? Was it dead? He just had to know.
Naito crept forward in the grass, tail lashing behind him. He was going to figure out these creatures. As he stepped closer and closer, Naito began listening to their strange noises. It wasn't like anything he had heard before. Curiosity growing higher and higher, he took a few more steps, hiding in the shade of a small tree. His paw landed on something round, and he jerked away from the thin brown snake.
Only the snake didn't move. It simply sat there, coiled in a loop. Where was its head? "Strange..." He muttered. Naito took a swipe at the snake. It remained frozen. With a growl, he bit the body and pulled. Nothing. The Hyeetah frowned. No snake was going to make a fool of him! He set his paw in the loop and dragged it out of the grass, intendting to grab it and tear it to shreds.
But the snake grabbed him instead. The loop tightened, and Naito found that he couldn't pull away. He snarled and twisted his leg, trying to shake the snak off. The tree began to shake in time with his twists, and he heard a soft tinkling noise. The two-leggers were loud now, pointing at his tree. They grabbed their stick and began running towards him.
Fear gripped him. He pulled harder, but the snake would not let go. "Release me!" He roared. Finally, he grabbed a hold of the snake with his mouth and shook it. Its body broke, and Naito was free. But the two-legged animals were coming closer, holding up their silver sticks. Naito growled at them. "So you wanna fight, huh?" A two-legger raised his stick, and with a flash from the end of the stick, the earth exploded at Naito's feet with a thunderous clap.
He yelped, jumping back. Another clap, and he felt he leg tear. Realizing he was outnumbered, Naito fled, running faster than he had ever run before. His leg burned, and he could feel the blood running from his wound. Now he knew what prey felt like. He lunged into a stream and galloped through the water. The cries of the creatures were barely audible now. Naito dashed off into the grass again, feet flying over the ground. Oh, what he wouldn't give to have wings right now.
His lungs were bursting. He had to stop. He had lost them, and he needed a break. Naito skidded to a stop and slid through the grass...running right into a small yellow hyeetah that was sitting in front of him.

OOC: OMG that was long. XD

Altaria was resting in a tree when she felt the tree shaking. She peered down and saw another hyeetah trapped by a odd looking snake. "Do you need some help" she asked but the other hyeetah took off and ran through the grass. She decided to fly after him. She followed him for about a mile and he crashed into another group of hyeetah. "What were you running from" she asked?

Joch's head lifted, his eyes watched as Sparky was crashed into. He didn't get much of a chance to warn her. He looked down at the poor suffering Hyeetah. It was a toxic. Oh how Joch really disliked toxics. He would never be able to live with the guilt though. He let a sigh escape.

Sparky had yelped and tumbled a few good feet. She got sad very quickly. "Hey, hey mister. You okay?" For once she had slowed down a bit. Another Hyeetah joined them. Asking the same question she was. Though Sparky was able to guess the problem. "Poachers?" She asked Joch, her lower lip sticking out.

Joch just nodded to her answer. "Why don't you go find some food. I'll watch over him for now." Joch turned and looked at the other hyeetah. "And who are you?"

"Hello I am Altaria or Ria for short" " I followed this guy as he was running away" "He got trapped in one of the tree snares" "They shot him in the leg I think" She turned and said, "I'll go scout for the poachers while you stay with him" With that she took off.

Naito growled, eyes following the blue hyeetah as she flew from the clearing. He turned and twisted, trying to hide his leg wound. What makes you think I have to tell you anything, bird brains?"He spat. Risens. They were all the same. They thought they were so high and mighty, as powerful as Sahara herself. He would kill them all if he could. Rip off their feathery wings muscle by muscle. "I don't need help from anyone." He sneered, lips curling up.
But something was tugging at his stomach. Guilt, maybe? No, he was above such emotions as guilt. Even so, something was irking him. Must have been that pest he ran into earlier. Stupid yellow furball. What had she done to...poachers. That word. She had said the word poacher. What was a poacher? The bird brain seemed to know. "What is a poacher?" He demanded, tail lashing out behind him. Could it be that these "poachers" were the two-leggers from before? "And what do you know about them?"

Sariya lifted her head from it's sleeping position on the ground. She licked her violet paw and swiped it over her ear. The red jewel on her forehead glimmered slightly.

Sparky stumbled over a violet hyeetah. She never watched where she was running, nor was she able to stop too quickly. "Oh! I'm sorry! Are you okay? I sure hope so. Got to go now!" Sparky apologized quickly. Not wanting to make much small talk. She was given a misson by Joch, which meant she had to complete it quickly. Sparky must have left the poor woman confused, oh well. Sparky bounced up and down as she spotted a rabbit. "Hey get back here!" She shouted as she tried to chase it down.

Before Joch could respond to Ria, she was gone. 'Great, another over energetic, restless hyeetah.' Joch raised his eye as he looked at the angry toxic. "Oh really? Are you saying you don't need the gods and goddesses then?" Yes, Joch really did think he was one of the smartest hyeetahs out there. That everyone else around him was young and incompetant. (sp) "Poachers are what those two legged beasts are called. I don't suggest you mess with them. They have great powers." Joch stated simply. To be honest, he didn't know much about them.

Naito's eyes blazed and he took a step towards Joch, tail pointed up straight. His fur bristled, a deep growl rumbling in his throat."If the gods and goddesses care so much about us," He snarled viciously, "Then why don't they just strike these poachers down themselves?" Naito snorted and turned away, fur falling down flat. His eyes searched the ground, hoping that if he stared at it long enough, it would somehow give him answers. Finally, he looked back up at Joch. "These poachers," Naito began, "They somehow got a snake to grab my foot with it's body. They can control thunder." He said quietly. He turned, giving the Risen a full view of his leg wound. "They used that thunder and lighting to give me this wound." Naito looked back in the direction he had come from. Eyes locked in the distance, he continued. "What if these beasts aren't beasts at all? What creature do you know of can control the elements?' He turned back to Joch. "What if these poachers are gods?"

OOC: Oh snap! Naito just added a twist! But we can all agree that they're just humans, right?

Altaria soared far above the savanna looking for the poachers and saw them heading towards the area where the 2 other Hyeetah were resting. She turned and flew as fast as she could towards their hiding space. She glanced inside their contraption and her eyes widened. She spotted their sticks gleaming in the sunlight. She willed herself to fly faster to warn them. Finally she spotted them sitting in a clearing. She landed and panted saying, "We must leave...now!!!"

Sariya looked up when Sparky tripped over her. She shook her head slightly and yawned. She looked around to see who else was around. There was a brown and red risen hyeetah and a blue and white risen. The only other one she saw looked toxic and she shuddered, she didn't like risens because they thought they were so much better then everyone else and toxics were just weird. With a small sigh she padded over to see what the toxic and the risen were talking about.

Joch contemplated this idea Naito had. The two legged beasts had extreme powers and weapons. What if they were gods? What had the race of Hyeetahs done to deserve to be caught and tortured? Joch adjusted uncomfortably. He didn't like being wrong. Nor would he like other people thinking he could be wrong, at least not till proven otherwise. "They can't be. I'm sure they are beasts." Joch notice the other risen reapproach them rather frantically. He wasn't sure whether they should leave. He was now curious about the monsters, or gods. Whatever they may be. "I guess we should. You guys go. I have to find my friend." Joch said, referring to Sparky.

Sparky stuck her nose down the rabbit hole. Her teeth just inches from the body. She wasn't about to give up on this one. Though, surely if she would look around she would be able to find more. Sparky didn't exactly think like that though. She wasn't the brightest bolt in the storm.

His head was grumbling at him, telling him to get high hell outta there and go take a nap. But his gut was telling him what he hated most - stay together. He always followed his gut. It had saved multiple times before. When in doubt, trust your gut. Except right now he was hating his gut with all his being. However, Naito did hate hypocrits, so unfortunately it looked like he was going to have to suck it up and deal with it. "We need to stay together." He just couldn't believe that the words were coming from his mouth. He had really just said that? "Those creatures outnumber us. Even if they aren't gods, they're still dangerous." He growled. "A pack against a pack are better odds than a pack against a loner." Was it possible to rip out his gut and still live? Naito hoped so. He was oh so close to trying it. "We'll collect that little knat and any other stragglers, then we find somewhere safe to hide out for a while." A soft breeze blew an acrid smell in his nose. The thunder-sticks. He snorted and pawed the ground, claws raking through the dirt. The scent burned his nose, made his eyes water. They weren't too far away. He could even pick up the sound of their strange calls. "Miss birdy over there is right. We need to hurry."

After she had told them that they had to leave they started to argue. She urged them to hurry up so they could get ahead of the poachers and hopefully get away. Then the toxic hyeetah said that we needed to stay together. She was impressed, she didn't know that a toxic hyeetah could even say that. When they decided they should go she flew up into the air intending to follow them while also keeping a lookout for the poachers...
