Good evening everyone. I am Autobot, aka RashomonCHB on DA and everywhere else I roam. I am joining the guild to keep me busy with something to draw in between my regular art projects. I love to draw, but I tend to either get busy with work, backlogged on my dvds or games and then I go into a dry spell where I don't know what I want to put to paper. Having little projects like gift art helps keep my engine running in the meantime. So if you want to check out my art it is on my DA account.

My style goes all over the place. I am not a manga style artist, but I do go animated at times where some of the influence sneaks in. I love drawing faces in paticular. Mostly the challenge of taking someone's likeness and trying to distill it down into something that can still be immediately recognized by the average viewer. Outside of just drawing a likeness what I draw is every bit as eclectic as my personality. Weird, horror, fan arts...whatever floats my boat at the time.
I will accept requests, but for the moment I will keep them limited to two at a time. This is mostly due to family life and work getting in the way (and Monday is new episodes of House. That always comes first.) Nothing too elaborate unless I get hit with some crazed idea. Just maybe some character requests or avatar pics for the time being and I will take it from there.
If anyone wants any other info then ask away.

Which avatar did you want done since I have seen two since I last replied? The shogun looking one or that last one which gives me a Hunter S Thompson vibe?

Stopping for tonight so I can look at this sketch again tomorrow after work. See if I want to continue it or what. I am still working out details like what I want to do with the left arm, if I want the mask to conform more to the face, ect... It has been a long time since I was on Gaia so I haven't kept up on the costume parts. Especially since they have become increasingly complex in how they now overlap. If I could see the individual parts it might help some. I know right now that the monks hat would never fit on the head with those horns. The horns would have to jut out impossibly far to clear that brim. But this is the sketch for now. It is no where near my finalizing it.

Is that a wheel in the boot? I will bounce between the sketch I am working on and yours then during the course of weekend. I don't know how far I will get to finishing it, but I should have some form of rough played with and posted.

Sorry for not replying sooner... and then randomly changing my avatars. Kinda thought you'd like this one better, anyway. Lol.
If the Horn-to-Brim thing is bothering you, I can just remove the horns (I probably should because there's too much black towards the head, and I try to color-coordinate my avatars) and just leave the monk-like hat... or even take away the monk's hat entirely. This is up to you since I like to have avatar art match the avatar it's based off of, lol.

The horns aren't bad, it is just the costume pieces are meant to work with pretty much ever other costume piece so there are somethings that don't really work well if they are translated to a different style. I tried looking at your costume pieces individually to get a better idea with what I was working with, but you have it disabled. I am feeling like I will do another draft of the sketch in the end. I think this sketch is just helping me to feel around how I want to draw the avatar. I didn't mind the other costume either. I kind of like the trex skull idea. I was just wondering what was on the back of the head since I couldn't make it out too well.

I re-enabled the viewing of my avatar's equipped items if you want to take a peak what what items I'm currently using. Sketch away, I'll GLADLY accept anything you do seeing how this avatar, I've noticed, is probably more difficult than most users' avatars out there. Lol.
The back/side of the head was some sort of cybernetic, robotic half-skull that wrapped around the back to the other side of the head, from eye to eye, but that's how I was perceiving it, anyway.
I'll post a larger picture of the other costume if you'd rather do that one. I could also post a larger one of my current costume if you want.

Some of the parts are overlapping pieces that look so similar in style that I was translating it as one thing. Damn, I remember when the costume parts were just begining to have a second look.

That's, uh, actually my doing. I meant for some of the items I have on to look like they're only one piece/item of the avatar. I have a fair amount of time on my hands out of my college crap, so I tend to just go and make random avatars either via Tektek or with whatever's laying around in my inventory. I hope this doesn't make you wanna stop drawing my avatar. sweatdrop

I was thinking you had a mix of Chinese and Japanese armor parts. I never realized you used a simple mask together with something else. I was thinking it was a form of samurai decorative armor.
