Intro

It has been ten years since the reunification of the Wereterras. Ten years since the son of the original unifier returned to the land of his birth and followed in his fathers footsteps. However those ten years have not been easy for the Lycon known as Wullf Maximas, but there has been some good. He found his past and his brother, and feel in love with an elf. Soon after political powers sought to destroy the unified lands of the Wereterras and nearly succeeded. All that is in the past though for now a new danger lurks just over the ocean's crest. Storm clouds brew foul deeds and have begun to stretch closer to the land Wullf calls home. The threat that comes will be not something just one man, or race can face alone. The lands ruled under the High City must unit and put their past differences behind them or all shall be lost.

A messenger has come to the High City barring a letter that speaks of war. The messenger looks like a common elf with his lean but muscular frame and his pointed ears, but his skin is what strikes all those who see him as odd. The color is that of a man who has stayed out at sea to long, a almost leathery brown but soften a bit. However his skin is not tough but as soft as any elf's should be, and his hair is raven black, braided, and put up in an elaborate manner. His cloths appear to be of simple material of earth colors and draped around him elegantly. He wears rings, necklaces, and even earrings of bright gold and colored gem stones, an uncommon trait for an elf. The messenger came under a white flag and thus cannot be harmed or miss treated but the letter he bares has made that a hard request to follow. The High King and the Council of Races has called forth men and woman of all races to be gathered in the High City so he may read the letter and let everyone know what is to come.

Important Information

Areas of Interest:

High City - Largest and grandest city in Sarigal located in the center of Sarigal. Home to the king of the humans and to the council of races.

Jade Leaf City - the largest elf city found within the Emerald Forest. The representatives for the elves at the council of races are chosen here.

Forge Keep - largest dwarf city in Sarigal located within the Dragon's Maw mountain range. The representatives for the dwarves at the council of races are chosen here.

Wereterras - the organized area under the control of the Weres now considered a governing state body, located on the eastern coast of Sarigal. The representatives for the Weres at the council of races are chosen here.

People of Interest:

Wullf Maximas - Rightful successor to the leadership of the unified Were nations. However he has declined the position and decided to have the nations run under a council represented by two members of each Were tribe. For the rest of his story see my Character profile.

Lena Maximas - Wife of Wullf Maximas and daughter to the King of the High Elves who inhabit the Emerald Forest. She is a powerful sorceress who can manipulate the elements and cast them out to help her when she needs them. Lena is as beautiful as elves come with her slender but shapely figure and soft round face. Her hair is long and an unusual red color for a high elf. Her sapphire colored eyes seem a cooling contracts to her fiery red hair and hint at a woman who will care for you with all her heart, but wrong her and be ready to face her fire.

Silvur Maximas - Brother to Wullf Maximas Silvur looks nothing like his brother except for the silver color each have on their body. However were Wullf's is from his fur Silvur's comes from his scales. Silvur looks like a silver dragon that walks on two legs and is only about nine feet tall. He normally wears basic pants ripped at the knee and backside to allow for his tail. A leather belt crosses his right shoulder to left hip and holds his large sword crafted from the remains of a great red dragon, one of the few dragon blades within the world of Sarigal.

Kit Maximas - Son of Wullf and Lena Maximas, Kit has retained more of his mother's blood line than his fathers. However his ears tend to turn up more than an elf's and his facial and body hair is thicker even for a ten year old boy. His since of smell and other animal like instincts are heightened and his skin is generally thicker than any other humanoid race.

Twillight - Twillight was the first major villain Wullf encountered and encountered often. On his journey to discover who he was Wullf ran into several minions under Twillight's orders. Twillight is a half breed Lycon like Wullf but his other half is far less glamorous then a silver dragon. Twillight's father was a demon which explains the man's blood red eyes and general craftiness in his planning. The half demon Lycon was attempting to create the perfect warrior race through combining bloodlines from various races throughout Sarigal. Using dark spiritual and darker arcane magic Twillight attempted to use Lena as a vessel to create his final perfect warrior. However Wullf stopped him and destroyed the half demon's retched blade in the process, but Wullf showed mercy on him and allowed him to live. From his defeat at Wullf's hands Twillight traveled to the farthest reaches of Sarigal to escape his shame but in the process may have found a small piece of humanity within himself. It seems his Lycon side just needed to be beaten out of him, or so Twillight concluded. Through several difficult and daunting tasks Twillight managed to obtain the Shadow Sword, the blade forged from the remains of a shadow dragon. With the blade Twillight vowed to become a new kind of champion, a champion of the darkness. Whenever light becomes too strong and begins to tip towards the side of evil and corruptness he would step in to balance out the scale. Twillight has found some measure of respect for the Lycon who defeated him and sent him down his path, and wishes to one day challenge Wullf again to a grand battle.

Kai Yotias - A man who once was a high official in the High City. He use to advise the High king in matters pertaining to the council of races. The council consisted of two representatives from the elf and dwarf communities, the King to the humans and Kai. This council helped determine trade routes and kept the ties between the three races in good standings. However When the Weres approached the council to be allowed representation Kai found the idea revolting. The thought of allowing beasts into the council chambers showed Kai's true nature and he began to secretly corrupt the Wereterras from the inside. He targeted Wullf first and foremost seeking to discredit the Weres hero the one who reunited them. However Kai found Wullf less than willing to be agitated or provoked but found his brother Silvur not so. Silvur ended up biting Kai which unknown to any at the time carried the same power that all Were bites have. Kai eventually turned into a Werewolf but took on the sandy blonde color of his original hair to his fur, something not common among bittens. Kai then began to use his ability to turn into the thing he hated as a means to show how vile Weres could really be. Kai, under his Lycon guise, formed other bitten Weres and rallied them to begin terrorizing the country side and showing off their true nature. This act caused the Weres to call on Wullf to represent them in the High City to explain this act. Wullf explained that the bittens did not act in accordance with the laws and regulations the Wereterras had put into place, and sited the idea of brigand humans along roadsides as a n example of people that do not represent the good in a race. Through more debating and manipulation from Kai the council denied the Weres representation until Kai was provoked into changing in the end of the proceedings. A small battle erupted sending that sent Kai fleeing in exile. After the actions of Kai the council decided to allow the Wereterras representation.

Rules of the RP:

The rules laid out by Robayn will be followed in this RP as well. Failure to comply with these rules will result in a warning of first and an attempt to fix the problem if it can be. A second offense will result in a mod being brought in and from then it is up to them what to do. Blatant disregard for the rules will result in the calling of a Gaia mod. I don't believe it will ever come to this in this guild but always nice to state everything upfront.

All who wish to participate in this RP will need to create a RP profile in the profile section first and foremost. Once done I will PM you with the go ahead to start or issues I may have with your profile. Thank you to all for partaking in this RP and above all have fun, happy hunting.

Chapter 1
And so it Begins...

War. There are those that would say that it serves no purpose, that nothing good ever comes of war, and for the most part I would agree with them. War in and of its nature is fierce and highly destructive. However I have found over the years that there is something positive that can come of the act, unity. In all the major conflicts I have been in all of them required people of different walks of life to join together in order to prevail. War, being a conflict on a much grander scale, is no different in its need for unity on and off the battlefield. Yes, it is true that hardship and sadness often come with war and I have never seen or been in a battle that did not have those two traits. In the wake of war though the bonds formed by those in the heat of combat can carry over and help form new bridges of brotherhood and wellbeing. Nothing in life that is worth anything is easy to gain. I can attest to that on many levels, as can many of my friends and family. Can we simple say that war is just the hardship that must be faced in order to form bonds that hold stronger than any forging process, mystical or mechanical, can create? I would hope not. If we had to face the horrors of war every time we wished to form a strong friendship then we would be at war forever, or are we ever not at war? These are the question that come to me on those quiet nights when I stare up to the moon and its twinkling brothers. When I find time to enjoy the peace and quiet with my wife and son I push these thoughts out of my head, for the answer seems plain. In times of trouble though it seems as if war never ends and never changes.

This war that rages across Sarigal, across the land that I have called home for all my life, seems to be testing everything I have come to understand. All the things I thought were constants have been proven to be just as ever changing as the winds. Time seems to allow change to occur with far greater patients then I admit to having. Those I thought as enemies I now see as allies against an enemy that attacks us on all fronts. Times when I would have felt sorry for a creature having to face my long time nemesis Twillight, I now laugh at knowing he will make short work of them. Those laughs catch me off guard and once again I come to question I may never find answers to, and perhaps I shouldn't seek. These foreign invaders have come with weapons we have never seen before and faces we have never even imagined. I have seen Weres of all shapes and sizes fighting for the enemy, elves with skin I would think to see upon a sailors face, and dwarves wearing the oddest of clothing all fighting together. As much as I despise them for their action against my home, I do have to commend them for their unity. For without it they would not have gotten as far as they have nor would they have even been able to start this war. It seems war bring unity to both allies and enemies alike. If only war could unite enemies into allies.

High City

The High City, it had been sometime since Wullf had been to the city. City was an understatement for the size of the place but it suited the day to day inhabitants just fine. Last time Wullf graced the High City was back when the council decided to allow the Weres a seat on the Council of Races. The whole ordeal had caused quite a stir in the upper human community, since humans were the majority race in Sarigal they tended to have the loudest voice. The elves and dwarves actually had supported the idea, almost from the start, with Wullf's involvement with each race over the years.

Wullf gave a small chuckle thinking about the past so, but that was neither here nor there at the moment so he decided to keep his mind seated firmly in the now. However his small chuckle did not escape the man traveling beside him. The same individual who had traveled with Wullf on nearly every one of his adventures, the red elf Tiki. The elf was not ordinary by any stretch, even by red elven standards. He was whimsical and comical, and often had a problem with being clumsy at times. However he could hold his own in a fight with his bone trident and always had Wullf's back.

"What's so funny up there in that fur ball you call a head?"

"Fur ball? I'll remember that next time you want to come over for dinner. I know how much you enjoy Lena's cooking."

"Oh now that is just not fair. I bet Lena would still invite me, maybe we just won't invite you. What were you laughing at though?"

"Just thinking about the last time I was here. It always seems to be for some big decision or important matter that brings me here. I have never simply enjoyed this city. I should bring Lena and Kit with me next time so we may truly enjoy it."

"Well they are here are they not? That pendent Lena gave you lets them see what we see. I'm sure they are enjoying the sights as well."

"Still, it is not the same. Plus they can only see and hear what goes on, they cannot communicate back to us, so they are at the mercy of our goal. I'm sure Lena and Kit could find far better things to do while we go listen to some foreigner read of a scroll."

"Where is this foreigner from anyways? I hear he is like no elf anyone has ever seen."

"I have heard similar stories my friend. They claim he comes from far across the ocean on the other side of Sar...hmm...I guess calling everything Sarigal does not fit much anymore. I'm sure wherever this elf is from they call it something different. We have not even met the man and already things are drastically changing. I can only imagine what awaits us at the palace."

*************

Wullf and Tiki continued there conversation all the way up to the palace gate. Meanwhile Wullf's elven wife Lena, and their son Kit, watched on through the pendent Wullf now wore around his neck. The images and sounds viewed through the water in the pendent traveled magically to a water basin in the house Wullf and his family called home. There Kit was excited to see the city for the first time, and was still curious as to why he had not been allowed to go.

"Why did father not let us go with him? Why did Tiki get to go and not us?"

"Your father wanted to make sure everything was safe before we arrive. He said if all was well we could join them after the foreign elf makes his announcement. Tiki went because he has gone with your father on just about every adventure. I think they fill a inclination for the road and the adventures we once shared."

"I wish to have adventures just like you and father one day. I hope we get to go to the High City, I would so love to see it for real."

*************

Wullf and Tiki stood outside the palace, as did several other members of high courts, royal lines, and important areas. Wullf was there to represent the WereTerras, the representatives from the Emerald Forest were there for the elves, the dwarves from Forge Keep stood stroking their beards in thought, a few druids had graced the city but finding them would have been a challenge in and of itself, and several human delegates and representatives dotted the courtyard just below the palace. The terrace, where the King had made several proclamations and rulings over the year, would be the place to watch. There the foreign elf dignitary would show himself and read of his message. Now all that was required was time and patients to last the time.

In an area far too modern and sparse for her liking, Rayn Atore stood in what shadows she could find busying herself with attention to her current animal companion. He had joined her as she traveled through the nearest wood, accompanying a small group of men from a not-too local township as they sought out the recent news concerning the kingdom, and she had gladly accepted his company. A Bear, smaller than those she had seen in the Druid's forest but much larger than those she expected from the woods closer to the Capital. Those woods were heavily hunted and held no game for a beast with a hunger that matched his size. The fur about his neck was matted with the blood of the goblin-kind, a small ambush that was meant to take them by surprise the previous night, and she busied herself now by cleaning it out accordingly. The blood was called "cursed" by many, and for good reason as it carried the same filth that the goblin-kind lived in on a day to day basis, and she had no desire for her companion to suffer it on his fine, earth colored coat.

As well as the shadows that overhung the station she had chosen her cloak aided in concealing her from any prying eyes. The Bear would draw attention of course but, as was expected, that attention did not linger. Between the presence of the forest creature, and the unfriendly glares Rayn offered to any who looked too long, the two were at peace as much as possible in the urban setting.

They had been there since day break, easier for her friend to travel through the market when it was not yet open, and they had been waiting ever since. Neither of them were antsy, nor bored, both creatures of the forest they were both well experienced in maintaining their patience.

It was still early in the day, not even high sun yet but Wullf had wanted to get to the city early. Even with constant protest from his ruby skinned friend, which still continued every so often. Wullf wanted to be early so he could take in the atmosphere and also enjoy the city a bit. He never seemed to come to the grand city in peaceful times, so this was indeed a treat for the Lycon. The messenger from the far away land was not to speak until after high sun, so that gave both Wullf and Tiki ample time to wonder the grounds.

The vendors and merchants took up every space they could, and could be seen, and often heard from far off. The smells of fresh breads, pies both sweet and savory, ales, and cooked meats carried over the place like an aromatic ceiling. Wullf's canine nose was working overtime to just take in everything and his pointed ears twitched on average as they picked up new sounds. The smaller red elf's ears were also twitching, although not as much as the werewolf's', but his eyes were what darted back and forth wildly. Tiki had also not been in the city at normal times and was like a child in a bakery, but to the red elf it was the sights of so many beautiful woman that he enjoyed.

"Don't get any ideas my friend. The last thing we need is another bath house incident, especially here of all places," Wullf said as he caught Tiki's darting eyes.

"Hey now, like I said a thousand times. I was just checking the craftsmanship of the pillar, and obviously it was not that great considering it fell over. Not my fault it fill into the women's bath house."

"I'm sure it wasn't," Wullf said with obvious sarcasm but still a chuckle in his words, "It is nice to see Weres in the city as well. I have seen a few dotting the crowds and have picked up on more than a few scents."

"The treaty has done well for all it seems. I hate it when you right you know that?"

"Lena tells me the same thing. Except I'm rarely right around her," Wullf laughed until he remembered the pendent he had on carried sound as well," hehe, sorry hun, no offense right?" The large werewolf looked quite amusing waving defensively at a pendent on his chest and calling it hun, Tiki could barley help himself.

"The great Wullf felled by a little elf maiden, who would have guessed."

"Very funny, she's tougher than she looks, and don't forget beautiful as well."

"Oh now you're just trying to cover your tail, you poor whipped puppy," only Tiki could have gotten away with such a line, anyone else calling Wullf a whipped puppy would only see fangs not laughs.

About that time the duo passed by what looked like a woman brushing out the fur of a midsized bear. They were in the shadows as best possible and the woman seemed more akin to the woods, given her attire and the long bow on her back. The woman gave passersby a look that spoke many promises of pain if they tarried to long. However Wullf was only intrigued more by the woman and her friend which was evident as he altered his stride to meet the woman. Tiki on the other hand was now focused on a merchant stand of pies with a lovely blonde girl working it, with her mother who was giving the red elf the eye.

As Wullf came closer he picked up the bears scent and the scent of goblin blood as well. He smelled it on the woman as well and had a filling the stuff coming off the bears fur was the same black sticky blood. With a grin on his muzzle Wullf came within easy ear shot of the woman and allowed room for the bear to smell him before he approached closer.

"Darn goblin blood always gives me a fight as well. It's almost like it hates fur or something."

Rayn sensed the approach of another coming in her direction and chose to ignore it, tired already of the busy market place and the throngs of people surrounding her, and focused her inner eye on the forest she'd be returning too soon enough. When the being spoke however she looked up, perfectly unencouraging scowl upon her face, and displayed little surprised when the being turned out to be a Were. She knew of Weres from stories, or reports, and hadn't ever spoken to one first hand before. However she wasn't a silly mage or scholar who sought thrill and excitement from new experiences and she treated him the same as she did any of the other passer-bys when they dallied too long near her and her companion. Well, almost the same.

"Never knew a Were with a sense of hygiene."

The words were meant to bite and, sensing the animosity from it's Ranger, the bear accompanied the words with a low rumble of his own. It wasn't a lie, exactly, since she'd never known a Were at all she could get away perfectly with the scathing comment. With all luck it would buy her some peace. She hadn't been keen on the idea of coming to the Capital at all, let alone waiting to see what the fuss was about, but her instincts bid her to stay and find out and so she stayed. Rayn had learned a long time ago that any animal that didn't follow its instincts ended up dead, or worse.

With the woman snide remark and the bears low growl Wullf could not help but give a low chuckle. It was apparent the woman was more accustomed to a life out in the woods with others like her furred friend. Wullf could not fault her for that, for he too preferred the company of wood and rural life rather than city. Maybe not as much as this woman but enough to respect her and her ways.

"The ones I know tend to be on the cleaner side, but I've known my share of dirty ones," Wullf gave another sniff of the air to try and help trace the woman's origin further. Many times the dirt, mud, and foliage from a certain area carried with it a particular scent that told of the climate and wild life around it. The scent Wullf picked up brought a smile to his face for he knew that forest well, "You hail from the Druid's Forest yes? I have an old friend there, a druid named Ronyo, have you ever run into him?"

Wullf glanced over to see Tiki leaned against the bakery counter talking with the girl. She laughed at one point and the Lycon could not help but roll his eyes. He was most likely telling her of one of their adventures and replacing Wullf with Tiki in the telling. With a grin he gave the red elf maybe ten more minutes before the maiden slapped him or the mother smacked him with some bakery utensil.

Finished with cleaning the blood off her companion's fur and brushing it out to a respectible fine, thick coat and she cast another unimpressed look in the Were's direction. She seemed to ignore his question as she sighed, straightened out to loosen her back from the time spent bent over the Bear, and then set to loosening the straps and fastenings that kept her once fine gloves in place.

They were leather, tough and flexible, and fingerless atop what looked like strips of cloth that acted as a further barrier between her skin and the gloves. She stripped them, one by one, and then removed the blackened cloth as well, and the skin underneath was a striking pale peach contrast to the dark, near black finger tips that had escaped the protection of the gloves for however long it had taken for the appendages to accumulate the ash, soil, and whatever else, that stained them now.

Rayn did not even glance at the mess that would have driven a typical woman insane at the sight of and instead wrapped the gloves up and put them aside into a small pouch to be cleaned later. Finally, after seeing that the lycon was still there and waiting for her reply, she spoke.

"Druid's Forest isn't the kind of place you "happen upon" people and, when you do, you don't tend to live long enough to share introductions."

"Haha fair enough I suppose, although Ronyo was never one to act so hasty. He usually tried to asset a situation before he took on a task. Probably how he put down that vampire he faced," Wullf laughed a bit until he realized the woman was not sharing his mirth, with a sigh he at least decided to be polite now that she was done with her bear friend, "The names Wullf by the way, Wullf Maximas, nice to meet you, and your friend as well," Wullf gave a respectful nod to the bear and held a hand out to shake the woman's.

A loud smack could be heard a few moments later however. Wullf did not pay any attention to what he knew was happening with his red skinned friend. He could hear the shouts of horrified tones from a small voice he assumed was the maidens. Tiki most likely pulled one of his not-so-smooth lines about finding a quiet place. A thud came next as something metal hit the elf a top the head and a angry looking female cook stood wielding the weapon. Tiki rubbed his head and then proceeded to dash off away from everyone with the cook following close behind with the metal pot still in hand.

Rayn's look of disapproval carried from Wulf's introduction towards the sounds of a distrubance not far away at all and, after spotting the red elf that seemed to be the caused of it and she shook her head at the display. Such antics were the very opposite of how she liked to live her life.

"And that innapropriate creature there is a friend of yours I take it?"

Her situational awareness did not allow her to miss the pair of them walking together and laughing at something or another before the Were had chosen to speak with her. She looked back to the lycon, then to his offered hand, and simply looked at it for a long moment before deciding that little harm could come of exchanging names.

She raised her hand first to the hood about her face and pulled it back, getting a full burst of sunlight against the honey colored eyes and the dark red hair, and then planted her hand in the furred one of his. Part of her took some satisfaction from the fact that she had made no effort to clean her hand off before shaking his - it was his friendly gesture after all.

"Rayn Atore."

"A firm handshake, I like that, "Wullf smiled as he shook the woman's hand and made no attempt to wipe his hand after the greeting. He turned his head to see Tiki running away from a yelling cook and he sighed, "Unfortunately yes he is a friend of mine. He may not be much in a social gathering but he has always had my back when it came down to combat. He doesn't look it but the little elf has some fight in him, just no common sense is all," Looking back at Rayn he could see her distaste for city events and could not help but wonder why she had come here, "I see your not one for the city good ranger, are you simply here for the foreigners words?"

Tiki was doing all he could to avoid the rampaging bull of a woman that now chased him about the market area. He ducked through stalls, and jumped over tables to try and gain distance on the woman. For every table he jumped though someone moved out of the woman's way to avoid being trampled. If it not for the red elf's nimble feet and agile reflexes he would have most likely been caught by now.

Rayn's demeanor changed slightly at Wullf's reaction to the shake and his lack of insult taken by the exchange of filth from her hands to his mitts. She approved. Her eyes followed the red elf as well as she responded, an expression of distaste to match the tone that colored her words.

"I escorted some men that were too afraid of the wilds to travel alone. I should have gone once we'd reached the gates... I don't know why I didn't."

Words were uncomfortable to her, having been so long since she'd shared so many with the same individual, and she turned her eyes back to the large lycon in skepticism and suspicion to see what made him so different from those many others she'd had no problem brushing off.

"Curiosity I would guess. Such a thing as this has never happened in the history of Sarigal, at least to my knowledge. I'm sure every race, group, sect, and family has someone here representing them. I'm sure even the druids are hiding amongst the rabble to relay whatever message comes about. I admit I'm curious as well, even without the were-council's summons I would have shown up."

A small red head popped close by Wullf and Rayn looking about for any danger. He looked to Wullf who spotted his friend just then and the red elf went to stand right next to his large friend.

"Have you seen that woman? I think she wishes to do me serious harm. All I did was..."

"I don't think I need to know. You know hiding next to the large Lycon is more likely to get you seen right?"

"Yes but maybe she won't come near me while I'm next to you."

"I doubt that, anyways before you go being completely rude this is Rayn Atore, she's from the Druid's Forest."

"Druid's Forest? Does she know Ronyo?" Tiki looked to Wullf who only raised an eyebrow and looked to Rayn, "oh right sorry, well meet Mrs. Atore, the names Tiki. You may have been right my friend, I'm going to find a better place to hide, see you once the speech starts," With that Tiki bolted again towards a local tavern to hide amongst the crowd within.

"Sorry about him, he gets...odd around women for some reason. Anyways who is your friend," Wullf indicated towards the now clean bear, "I don't see many bears around here."
