It was warm out, like Ista always was, the sky was strangely blue for midafternoon. W'in found himself wondering where the day's inevitable thunderstorm was. He was sitting outside on a rock in the open Weyrbowl, and inevitably the sky was going to turn black and unleash rain on him. ...At least he could force Toronth to take a break, he supposed...but he was almost liking the fact that it hadn't started thundering yet.

W'inmine, you think too much. Just enjoy. Toronth was stretched out on a slightly rock nearby, taking a short break from the drilling he had just put W'in through. With his wings spread to catch as much sun as possible and his eyes half-closed, W'in couldn't help but smile and think the stocky blue looked an awful lot like a feline pelt, all sprawled everywhere. Toronth, catching the thoughts, lifted his head and slid his eyelids back to fix his rider with a baleful stare. Unamusing, W'in, he remarked.

"Oh, Toronth. Grow a sense of humour. If you can't take it, you're not allowed to dish it. And by the way, you and Redhath hiding my clothes trunk in the dead of night isn't funny to anyone."

I disagree, W'inmine. Redhath, Redhath's and I all found it terribly amusing.

"Shut up, Toronth." W'in made a face at the dragon and stretched out, staring at the sky and savouring the good mood his dragon had put on and wondering what to do with this sudden surplus of sunshine. "...We should do something," he remarked after a minute's silence. "Something cool. I'm not sure what, but there must be something we can do."

Shirking your chores would be bad form, W'inmine...

"So I'll get back in time to get them done quickly. We have a few candlemarks' dead space. Let's do something. Go on an adventure!" He sat up, looked at Toronth, and grinned. "Come on, Tor. Don't be a boring old wherry. Let's do something."

Toronth lolled his head to one side, rolling his eyes with the air of a long-suffering compatriot, and painstakingly furled his wings. You'd better not be thinking of something unbecoming, Mine. We have things we ought to be doing.
