Nell ran ahead of her caretaker her arms spread wide and hands tipped upward as she made a soft engine noises in the back of her throat. Her rainbow patterned converse sneakers hit the ground with certainty that only a bright cheerful toddler could have, trusting that the ground is below her feet and free of obstacles to go in her way, but the only thing that sometimes betrayed her was her own two feet because she would stumble forward a few inches, pause to catch her bearings and then start running again. Not much seemed to slow her down, even her wings fluttered behind her as if to propel her forward ever faster.
Onruis watched in a manner that could only be described as bemusement. He hadn't wanted another child and hadn't planned to have one but much like with Metis he was stuck with her. Though if he pushed the issue he could give her back but, apparently, Arianna threatened to disown him if he gave her up. His sister had apparently taken a shine to her newest niece straight away unlike with Metis; it took a while for that bond to form between them mostly because that particular child was somewhat harder to get close to considering her mildly predatory tendencies.
When they had reached the playground Nell halted to a sudden stop and turned on her toe and watched at the oncoming parental figure with her hands on her hips, "Hurry up!" she called after him with a laugh and then turned away again to see if any children were about.
"I'll get there when I get there," Onuris assured with a small smirk and a shake of his head and continued on his easy stroll.

Maggie was having a significantly harder time getting her charge to follow her to the playground. Bharani had sulked at first, and with an amazing amount of stubbornness had dug her heels in when her caretaker had tried to drag her out the front door.
She was now holding on to the bow on the back of Maggie's vest and kicking the dirt as they walked. Bharani was at least happy that the eccentric woman had dressed more low key today (imagine her surprise to appear in a place and suddenly have a ballgown clad woman bearing down on her!). Maggie sported a modest black vest, with a frilly gray shirt underneath and a black matching skirt. The only embarrassing thing, as far as Bharani could see, was the large peach bow that adorned Maggie's neck.
"Oh look!" Maggie exclaimed. "There's other people there too. You can go play with her. She looks like she's your age."
Bharani looked up. "I dun wanna," she said sullenly.

Nell's wings stretched a bit as she looked around herself until her blue eyes caught sight of a mother and her stubborn charge. She was patient enough to wait until Onuris was at her side once more before she bolted off again toward the woman and he girl. Nell came to a stop before them and stared up at the woman with wide hopeful eyes and pointed a pale hand at the small girl, "May I play with her?"
Aside from being rather pale in color and having wings Nell looked like a perfectly normal little girl with a lively freckled face that was keen on finding friends to know and play with, even if these possible friends were less than keen on playing with her at the moment. She rocked back on the heels of her sneakered feet. If the child didn't want to play she supposed that was fine, Nell would just briefly pout and then play by herself.
Ha!
Onuris had watched Nell run off again and soon followed after her at a leisurely stride once again with a small chuckle. When he came to a stop it was within a few feet behind her. He gave the woman a small nod and gazed curiously at the dark skinned girl that she had with her currently.

Maggie stepped to the side so that Bharani was facing the girl, instead of hiding behind her skirt.
The dark skinned girl's pale hair bounced around her face as she started to shake her head.
"Of course you can!" Maggie said, answering the winged-girl.
"H-hey!" Bharani cried. "You can't make my decisions for me!"
"Sure I can," she said, giving the little girl a push. "I just did. Go play, Ani"
The stubborn child crossed her arms in front of her, much like she had when she first appeared, and scowled up at Maggie. "But she looks funny."
Maggie waved her hand, dismissively. "So do you, silly."
The little girl huffed. "Fine. But she better not try to make me dress up in princess dresses, like Berry," she said, finally letting go of Maggie's skirt and walking up to the girl. "Maggie called me Bharani. What did your person call you?"
It was a bit of an odd way of asking her name...
Finally free of the little one, Maggie waved at Onuris. "Hello there!" she said happily. I'm Maggie, and the small sulky one is Bharani. It's very nice to meet you!"

Nell watched the two curiously and blinked at the mini-argument between the two. She looked funny? Nell thought she looked just fine and so did the other girl. She rocked back and forth from heel to toe as she waited for the two to settle on who had the right to give 'permission' as to whether or not Nell could play with the one called 'Ani'. She tilted her head from side to side when the other girl huffed and stated that she better not make her dress in princess dresses Nell gave a small snort, "Don't be silly, I don't have any dresses here and they'd get in the way of playing."
The pale girl tilted her head a bit and then settled on one of her nicknames, one that she was called the most, "Nell! I am Nell. Let's play!" she chimed cheerfully and first pointed at the jungle gym, "there?"
Onuris nodded to Maggie, "Hello," he started and supposed he should introduce himself in kind, "I am Onuris and the colorful one is Nell. The pleased to meet you."

"That's not what Berry thinks," Bharani muttered in response to Nell's comment about dresses. She watched Nell suspiciously. Nell SEEMED to be a girl...but the only girls she knew so far were giggly and liked to play dress up. Why wasn't this one like them? Ani didn't trust it, not at all.
The dark girl nodded her head. "I bet I can hang upside down longer than you!" she said, climbing onto the jungle gym, to the monkey bars, and hooked her legs under one bar and dropped upside down, holding on with her knees and ankles.
"Onuris," Maggie repeated, hoping that she would remember it in the future. "Nell looks very lively," she observed, wondering if Onuris was much of a talker. She hoped so, otherwise, this was going to be a very awkward day. "Is she much of a handful? Ani keeps trying to climb the bookcase in our house."

"Berry is silly," Nell announced as she was put under scrutiny of the other girl. She rocked back on her heels as she waited for the other girl to agree to her location only to be challenged and suddenly stare after the girl as she began climbing the bars a head of her. Nell placed her hands on her hips and watched a moment and then started to climb after her with a small grin, "No way!" Nell called after the other girl climbing rather carefully to a spot near Bharani before she also dropped upside down and hung there by her knees and ankles, her hair came falling down like a curtain. Nell stretched her wings and crossed her arms over her chest looking satisfied with her progress so far.
"Have you done this before?" She looked over at the other girl with wide curious eyes. Nell had done this for the first time ever and thus far she felt she was doing quite well just mimicking the leg hold the other girl performed.
Onuris nodded a bit, "She is pretty lively," he chuckled a bit; he didn't seem adverse to conversation with this woman. He crossed his arms over his chest, "Nell can be a bit of a firecracker some days," he admitted with a small laugh, "keeps us all on our toes at home, but Nell hasn't tried to climb anything yet..."

"Yup, all the time!" she exclaimed. "Well...I mean," she glanced over at Maggie, to see if the woman could hear her. "I did it a couple times at home, and I was using the table and a chair, but it's the same, right?" Ani looked over her shoulder and saw the girls hair dangling down and reached up a hand to poke at her own fluffy hair. She shook her head, trying to get hers to imitate Nell's. No luck.
She started to swing back and forth a little. She hadn't normally don't it for this long, and was starting to get a little dizzy. Hopefully the other girl was too, it'd be embarrassing to drop now!
Maggie laughed. "She looks like a fun girl." She reached up and started to twirl a strand of her red hair, a habit she had developed when she was trying to think. "Is it just you and Nell at your home?" she asked.

Nell seemed pretty impressed as she listened to Bharani admit to doing this stunt pretty much all the time. Her lips formed a soft 'o' shape as she listened and nodded enthusiastically. It was the same! It totally was the same! It was the same enough for the pale girl anyways. She crossed her arms over her chest and began to swing herself back and forth cautiously at first and then with more vigor and bravery. She was starting to feel dizzy she gazed over at her co-conspirator of the afternoon and seemed thoughtful, "Wanna play a game?" Neither of them would have to admit to defeat and they'd get to do something exciting. WOO!
Onuris laughed a bit and nodded, "Yeah she's pretty exciting alright," the crimson haired man said easily and shook his head at her question. "No, my sister and my older daughter live with us," he said scratching at his chin with a small chuckle, "How about you? How full is your household?" It seemed an innocent enough question.

A game would be good. It would probably help Ani's head, which was spinning most fantastically now. "Sure!" she exclaimed. "What sort of game?" Did it involve doing something while they continued to hang upside down, she wondered, or were they going to move to another part of the playground...Bharani grew suddenly suspicious again. Berry's other favorite game was 'house', and the golden-haired girl didn't much care for that one either. But this 'Nell' girl had said Berry was silly (which Ani agreed with!), and she was here hanging upside down with her, so Ani decided to give her the trust her for now.
"Oh, there's a few others at home," Maggie replied, now trying to disentangle her finger from her already curly hair. "Two very little ones, Berry and Zuki," she paused. "And I mean little in size," she added, laughing. They're only about this big." She held her thumb and pointer finger up, showing just a few inches. "And we have a Teenager who's...different." That was an understatement. The girl seemed to be crossed with a chicken and a lizard. "But sulky seems to translate to any species of teen, and she makes sure to let us know that she's quite miserable all the time," Maggie smiled, to show that she was only teasing about her adoptive daughter. "
There were, of course, other friends and relatives running in and out an any point in time, along with customers to Maggie's shop, which was attached to the house.
"What are your sister and other daughter like?" the woman asked. "It sounds like a pretty quite household."

Nell felt an buzzing sensation from the inside of her head and giggled a bit she decided to let 'Ani have this round and eventually she pulled herself to an upright position, her face was deeply flushed from the blood that rushed to her face. She glanced down at Bharani with a large grin, "I 'unno! Thought maybe we'd find some mud to play in or somethin'. I like to play in the mud! It feels squishy," Nell laughed happily as she waited for her playmate to pull herself up and give her two cents.
"That sounds like a fine mix," Onuris chuckled as he kept an eye on the girls. Nell was well meaning but sometimes she started some mischief that was above her head and messy. He tilted his head side to side, "My oldest daughter is quiet and keeps to herself for the most part but she's not unfriendly most of the time unless you squish a spider, she's very protective of spiders. My sister is very polite and lady like and doesn't take any nonsense off of others," The red haired man smiled lightly.
