we have a race thread so how about a discipline thead?
which one are you gonna focus one? your main job if you will
for me im more interested in pugilist and magicwise whatever magic job specialises in white magic i think its enchanter but i cant be sure

Well since I like being a Tank, I'll go with the Gladiator. I'll mainly focus on the War based jobs.
But apparently the way the game works is by mixing and matching armor and weapons to have access to different skill sets, so maybe you can have a Gladiator with a few offensive spells.

if u wanna be tank id recomend some white magic sorta like a paladin since white magic generates more hate ... well we dont know how itll turn out tho

The illusionist and enchanter aren't confirmed jobs, errr... disciplines. it's gonna be all about your weapon of choice rather than a specific job. my fiance hopes to see some katana's as he really loved ninja on ffxi. I like really like great swords. I also really love rdm and my fiance loves blm, so he's gonna be a Thaumatage as well. I'm waiting to see what new magic jobs will be introduced before I decide what magic job I'll be playing.

i think i'll most likely make a healer or lancer. I like to sit back and heal/buff people.

http://www.eorzeapedia.com/2010/03/11/detailed-class-info-from-famitsu-and-4gamer/ theirs new info of disciplines now. hopefully we get an official site update on new jobs some time soon but translated articals are good to.
Tho dosent really change the fact i want to make a lancer and a healer characters and maybe an archer.

I wish they had simple names. xd
But anyway, I like important roles. Healer,tank or puller. Mainly cause I always want party invites(I have a certain time span for gaming) and because those jobs keep you pretty busy. DD's are fun but in a heavy grind fest.. you start to get tired of watching your character swing. No offense to any DD's. (Because everything is repetitive after awhile, I just prefer to keep busy so I don't fall asleep in repetition ;P )
I hope they have some sort of bard! scream

Well the thing is, there is no more standing in place. The link is somewhere in the threads.
But battles are going to be more dynamic, with players moving and readjusting locations to get an edge in battle.
Gone are the ideas of camping and bringing enemies through pulling, now as a group you literally hunt your enemies.

I just look at the pictures half the time on the articles cause I naively thought this game would still be similiar to FF11. Now I will go read those. Maybe get some ideas on a future job. xd

At the moment I'm leaning towards lancer. I tanked in FFXI and I don't wanna go through that again, I'd rather deal damage this time.

I will most probably be a healer. I do like to dd but after playing an mmo for a couple years, and healing almost everything, I just don't trust other healers will do their job right >.<
