"Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony."
Mahatma Gandhi (1869 - 194 cool
It had been so long since she'd had an idle day not worrying about what would become of Amiel that Yysida almost didn't know what to do with herself.
Though she certainly wasn't around him at all times, as she needed solitude just as much as the next, she always had an ear turned toward him in case she needed to appear at random. It was both a blessing and a curse, having to ability to manipulate sound - and discern sound from great distances if she chose - but she supposed that was true of any ability gifted to a Constellation. With great power came great responsibility, or something like that. An Earthen had spoken that once, maybe, and she'd liked it.
She exercised her powers responsibly, she thought. She aided where it was needed, and to date, had only attacked one other Constellation - several times, but still, it had been warranted. Now, though, he was seeking help, and she had to stay away.
That was understandable. It was even a bit of a relief.
It was remarkably freeing to be away from Amiel, to not even listen for the vibrations of his temper in the earth. She felt almost like she had before him, when she had been a simple temple maiden, companion to a Goddess, enjoying a life of peace and caring. Even when she had first ascended to Constellation, her life had been untainted.
"Ah... those days seem so far away." Smiling a little, she leaned forward, eyes opening slightly to survey the flowers before her. Blood red, tall and proud, like Amiel.
They were the only flowers that bloomed for her, after she'd cursed him.
Smile falling, replaced with something sad, she murmured, "A curse... never just affects one person, does it?"
Stroking a hand down the petal, she began to sing softly, eyes drifting closed once more. It was a slow song, a sad song.
Her song.
