Ok I play flute but I always envy those who can play piano. I have an electric Piano that I can get back into my room probably but I don't have any beginner books. Can you recommend a beginner book so I can attempt to self teach myself how to play. I won't be quitting flute, just playing piano at home for fun.

The Mikrokosmos books are good, by Bartok. There's six books ranging from beginner to advanced. The first book is definitely doable with no prior experience (just as long as you know the notes on the staff and such).

i didn't use a book, i just taught myself how to play and read online how to read bass cleft (i'm a flutist, guitar player, sax player, tenor singer, pianist so yeah, don't read bass cleft that often XD) anywho, i just recognized the notes so i began to play and that's pretty much how i taught myself. plus i have 4 older brothers, a dad, and a mom that plays piano so they helped me as well. of course, my dad can play anything he picks up too smile

I learned with the Bastien piano basics series, then moved on to the Alfred books a little later.

In school, we're using... I think it's called Alfred's Adult Piano Course or something. It's good for people that don't have any background at all in music, so for me, and probably you, it's a little.. slow.
I've also used Essential Elements for learning the clarinet, saxophone, and flute, and I recommend checking them out. They're a little less "Here's quarter note. It gets one beat. In 4/4, they are counted one-one-one-one, or one-two-three-four... This is a..." and more like "This is a quarter note. It gets one beat." As in, it doesn't go as far into actually learning about reading music and etc as Alfred's does.
Hope this helps.

I am learning to play the keyboard now. I actually dont like begginer books though, I just try and go straight for it. So far Ive got Welcome to the Black Parade and Cancer by My chemical Romance down, and Im going for Northern Downpour, That Green Gentelman, and Folkin Around by Panic! At The Disco.
