New World is an RP under construction. I'll overview what I have so far.

A link to a very incomplete wiki: New World Wiki

Many things are not finished and a lot of things I need to write down haven't been written down. I'll get to it, I promise.

New World

New World is a working title for an RP I'm developing. Set in the distant future, it focuses around a group of outcasts, either insane enough to leave their occupations and go on a treasure hunt or desperate enough to have nowhere else to go.

New World is set in a future that is both optomistic and filled with plenty of grimdark. There are a few primary governments on which the known universe is founded, and two of these three are at war. The United Native (the empire founded by Earth) and the Olympian Alliance (another group once under the young UN) are putting everything they have into this conflict, trying to end the stalemate and end the war that neither will resolve. On the side, the Fou'dn Federation, an unusual entity, watches with disgust as war carries on.

As far as society goes, things are not inconceivably different, but there has been a huge upset from life today. Due to the discovery of a brilliant scientist, there is no shortage for anything that can be grown. Food, animals, plant life - anything can be grown to a point where the growth is indistinguishable from an unlimited supply. As a friend of my put it, "You don't work to put food on the table, you work to have a table to put food on."

In this era, metal is a somewhat more precious material, and spacecraft, while common, are not cheap. Always costing at least as much as an aircraft would today, spaceships are something of a commodity, and the services of those willing to carry goods or people from one location to another are somewhat expensive. Anyone with a ship is capable of amassing a decent amount of wealth for themselves - at least enough to live comfortably.

And in the midst of this, a somewhat disreputable man calls out for people to join him on what amounts to a treasure hunt, sailing into unknown, unpopulated territory in hopes of discovering some untold wealth. This man claims to have found records from a period of history thought dead, records that lead him to something that will make him and anyone else along for the ride unbelievably wealthy. No one who signs on realizes what far-reaching impact their actions will have.

This RP is a horrible idea and is doomed to failure.

That is awful! why do you say that... it is very specific, and there is alot going on... but it doesn't mean it is a horrible Idea!

It is more important that you develop the backstory and history before the current universe. Even if you're not going to develop the "free period" and other periods before the space age, you need to develop the space age significantly. This will not only make it easier to develop the universe but it will also set up possible campaigns.

Indeed - allow me to edit in my concept, however.
