Anyone played inFamous? I've just played some of the demo and I think it's great but what's the full game like?

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I mean, everyone goes on about how awesome the gameplay is, and while that may be so, I'm wondering about the storyline. I know you could choose a light or dark path, but what's the narrative itself like? Without spoilers, of course. What's the voice acting like? Cinematics? Etc.

From what I've gathered off the website and the free comic book download the story is that Cole (the main character) is a normal guy who delivers packages on his bicycle for a job and he is given an electrical biochemical bomb to deliver but he doesn't know this. A guy called John (dunno if he works for the government or something) tries to stop him from delivering it but fails and the bomb explodes. The people living in Empire city become crazed and start killing each other and stealing and some become Reapers due to the chemicals in the bomb. Cole is blamed for it and labelled a terrorist but the explosion has given him super powers and the ability to control electricity. the government quarentine the city and don't let anyone in or out and don't care about the people living there. Cole has to try and stop what's happening and clear his name with the cops by either becoming a hero or survive and take everything for himself by becoming a villain.
john is still alive and cole has to look for him which is how the game begins I think...I don't much more cause the rest is told in game.

the story reminds me a little of Resident Evil and a little of that movie Crank.

I loved the game. I played through the story on Medium and Hard going through both storylines.

The stories are phenomenal, in my own opinion.

The voice acting is mediocre. The learning curve is generally steady. On hard, the learning curve has an occasional mountain in the way. It is easy enough to get the Platinum Trophy. Much more so than any other game that I know as of yet. I haven't gotten it, because after beating it twice, I just didn't want to go on and get the rest, but that was my choice. I'm not too influenced by the trophies.

Yeah, trophies are something I couldn't care less about. Frankly, I prefer it when games DON'T have trophies, just so that people can actually enjoy the game, and not play the whole thing like a robot for achievment's sake.
But that's just me. I still think you should be able to disable the trophies on your PS3 though. I consider it a waste of time. People are all proud with how many trophies they have. I'd be proud if my profile showed, "Refuses to earn trophies."

But that's going off topic. Hmm... Voice acting is mediocre, you say... I'll have to check on the actors, I guess.

cool. I think the choosing good or evil gives you oppertunity to play it through at least twice. I may buy it. voice acting isn't that important to me...gameplay is what matters.

Well, since Alpha Protocol got delayed until what seems like Summer of 2010... As much as that sucks, it gives me room for another game on this year's wishlist. So after I get all my essentials, I might pick up inFamous if I have a chance.
