Uxmal Jungle Vice Captain

Kifu'Ini's small frame blended in quite nicely to the shadows of the undergrowth. Her bright brown eyes nearly glowing in the shadows. Her small paws barely making a sound on the well used path that she was currently traveling.
It was cloudy, a slight rain drizzling down from the angry looking clouds. Flicking her tail back and forth, Kifu continued her trek down the path. The woods on either side of the path were silent. It had been some time since she had heard the sound of a bird or another B'alam.

 Morpheus was treading down that very same path, but in the opposite direction. His paws hit the dirt under him silently was he walked. Soon the two strangers would meet up, weather they wanted it or not.
He stopped in mid step and his head titled up towards the dreary looking sky. His blue eyes scanned the gray clouds in silence as the light drizzle dripped on his fur. "The sky is crying again," He muttered softly breaking the silence that had begun to wrap itself around him.

She paused, her ears flicking as a soft a sound reached them. There was someone or something around the bend up ahead. Kifu traveled around the bend and froze. Standing stock still, she stared up the path. Another B'alam was standing in the middle of the now muddy path. Though Kifu had never seen another one like this b'alam before. He had giant fangs. Having only encountered the occasional normal B'alam, she did not know they could possess giant fangs.
Allowing a small sad smile to cross her face, Kifu'Ini continued onward. Her bright brown eyes shining with curiosity and a hint of envy. Oh how she wished she could have giant fangs. Continuing forward, it was not long before she reached the stretch of path in front of the fanged male. Craning her neck to look up at him, Kifu attempted to smile once more.
"Hullo" Her voice was soft and delicate, almost like a lullaby on the wind.

The adult male seemed distant when the female cub approached him. Morpheus' head still remained tilted towards the gray sky, his eyes trying to search for the main reason the sky was crying. When the cub spoke it brought the adult out of his thoughts.
His head tilted down to where the voice came from. His eyes scanned the little one for a while before he spoke his greeting. "Hello to you as well little one."

Kifu studied the male closely. Her eyes guarded slightly. Maybe he was different then him. Though Kifu wasn't quite ready to find out just yet.
With a twitch of her tail, Kifu settled lightly onto her hunches. Ruffling her useless wings. The opening in her ribcage now in full view. It was an odd wound, it always remained torn open and had yet to heal in the slightest. Much like her heart.

He took not of her wings and wound but didn't speak of them, not wanting to bring up bad memories of the such. He cleared his throat and then spoke. "So what is your name little one. I'm Morpheus." His head bowed towards her mainly in respect, it was an act he did towards everyone he met at first. Many other questions was swirling in his head but he kept them to himself, for now that was.

The smile reached her eyes this time. "I'm Kifu'Ini" Here she paused as if to collect her thoughts. "Where are you from? I've never seen another B'alam quite like you before." She hoped that she didn't sound too rude.
With anotehr flick of her tail, she wrapped it around herself. Allowing it to remain still for the time being.

"North of here," He replied and then glanced over his shoulder from the way he had come. "From a land which its always cold." He paused a bit and looked back down at her. "I haven't seen one like you before either, just of 'my' kind we came from the frozen land together. Still once we reached this place I wandered off from them." He dropped his head down closer to her, mainly to whisper in her ear. "In truth I don't really think I am like most of my kind."

"why would you leave your home?" She was overly curious. Her eyes lit from within with that same curiosity n which coursed through her veins. Taking her gaze off for him for a moment, Kifu'Ini peered about. Taking in the warmth of the jungle with her gaze. "Arn't you hot?" Concern laced her voice, her gaze drifting back to Morpheus.

The adult gave a small shrug, in truth he didn't know why they had come from the frozen land. All he knew it was their pack leader had decided on it. Maybe it was to find new lands and explore them, or just to meet new creatures. "I haven't a clue why we left," He replied honestly.
He thought for a while on her second question before he replied his answer. "Yes, but I assume my body will get use to the heat in due time," He paused for a bit more and tilted his head up towards the sky once more. With out looking back down at her his mind drifting a bit he asked. "What are you doing out here all by yourself?" The main questions that where on his mind pertained to her wounds, as well as where her parents were but he bit his tongue on them...well for now. Soon enough his curiousity might pose those questions further and bring them fourth.

Kifu nodded as Morpheus explained the best that he could. At his question, Kifu peered out into the jungle for a moment, to collect her thoughts. "I'm exploring" Her eyes remained on the jungle around them.
The rain had begun to cease as they spoke, leaving the air and plants smelling new. Taking a deep breath, Kifu smiled. She always did love the scent after the rain, it was as if the rain had washed away all the earths problems.

The rain as well as the smell it left always seemed to leave the adult in awe. Back in the frozen land all it did was snow. All these different weather changes were new to him, yet a bit of excitement boiled through his blood because of it. He had always been fond of seeing and experiencing new things. "Want to explore together?" He proposed his question to the cub.
