What is Reikai?
Reikai, or spiritual effect, is a form of reiryoku (spiritual energy) manifestation, somewhat similar to reiatsu (spiritual pressure). It's considered a high-level technique that only well-trained and highly accomplished shinigami can achieve.
Similar to reiatsu, reikai uses particles of reiryoku; but while reiatsu equals reiryoku dispersed in air, reikai equals condensed spiritual energy concentrated in a mostly spherically shaped area. Reikai could also be simplified as a full release of reiryoku in comparison to reiatsu.

Reikai manifestation
The area of condensed reiyroku is normally spherically shaped, but can take other forms as well; its looks (shape, consistency and colour) depend on the person's reiryoku. Inside it - again depending on the type of the caster's reiryoku - the temperature can change slightly (without that being the reiryoku's effect), and a scent specific to the reiryoku can be smelled. The size of the area varies from one to twenty or even thirty metres in radius. Size is, however, limited by the power of the effect - the more aggressive the effect is, the smaller the size of the area.

Reikai as spiritual effectIn a similar way that reiatsu release results in various effects on others (of lower spiritual energy level) that sense it Bleach wiki 1st Division Captain Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryusai used his spiritual pressure in the form of a stare to paralyze Nanao Ise. Yachiru Kusajishi, the Lieutenant of the 11th Division can emit her spiritual pressure into the form of an angry pink cat. The most powerful Shinigami such as Ichigo Kurosaki, Kenpachi Zaraki, Sosuke Aizen, Commander-General Yamamoto, Toshiro Hitsugaya, Byakuya Kuchiki, Rukia Kuchiki, Renji Abarai and others have vast amounts of Spiritual Energy, which they can emit in the form of Spiritual Pressure with devastating effects. The reikai impacts everyone in the defined area (except the possessor of the energy, of course) in a way unique to the person's reiryoku. For example, it can cause extreme cold or heat; make everyone half slower (that is considered a time-manipulation); incinerate everything flammable ... Your imagination is the limit. Of course, on the type of the effect, the size of the area depends, and the time to be able to maintain it as well. For example, one with the effect of extreme cold might spread his reikai 20 metres in radius and sustain it, let's say, for 7 posts; while someone with an effect of time-manipulation (again, depending on the exact action of the effect) would be restricted to much more narrower area and less posts; not to mention the all-incinerating effect which would probably be considered a one-poster.

Other important infoThe reikai technique is an invention of the Academy, and as such taught only here, and only to staff members and capable students (we'll come to that eventually). It's a very demanding technique, so it will require a two-page PRP with the teacher to achieve it, and an additional page for each rank. See the post on ranks below. Now, to avoid the current RP from stagnating on account of reikai lessons, you are allowed multi-location for the purpose of this training solely. Thus, your character can do his/her tasks and duties in the main RP, and train in the reikai subforum as well. When you achieve a rank of the technique, you character in the current RP will be able to use it 12 real-time hours from the moment you have officially learned it. Once you achieve reikai, you will have to update your profile correspondingly. Use the following code and paste it under your "Abilities" section.

Note that your reikai must be approved before achieving it. Post it in the reikai approval thread, and it will be checked. This is necessary to avoid abuse of this potentially extremely powerful technique.

How can you learn it?To achieve the technique of Reikai, you must accomplish a two-page PRP with a reikai master. For each additional rank, another page is required. When finished, you can be a master of reikai, and can also teach others. The curriculum for the Reikai is the following:
1st page: meditation and concentration; feeling and exploring the reiryoku current, exploring and perfectly controlling the process of reiatsu release.
2nd page: merging; combining the energy sphere of condensed reiryoku and the process of reiatsu release into one, thus dispersing the condensed energy in a spherical form around yourself.
FINAL POST ON 2ND PAGE: achieving the reikai.
3rd page: training to reach the reikai's full effect.
4th page: training to reach the reikai's full reach.
5th page: training to reach the reikai's full duration.
The only PRP that differs from this scheme is the inventing PRP, and for an obvious reason.

RanksThe ranks of mastering reikai, and what they include. NOVICE: the technique of reikai achieved, but not accomplished.
When performing, the probability to success is only 50%, the effect is weaker, area size half the maximum, and duration only 1-2 posts, depending on the max duration.
INTERMEDIATE: achieved full effect of the reikai.
When performing, the probability to success is 70%, the effect reaches its full power; however, the area size is still half the maximum, and duration only 1-2 posts.
EXPERT: achieved full effect and reach.
When performing, the probability to success is 90%, the effect reaches its full power and the area size reaches it’s maximum; however, the duration is still only 1-2 posts.
MASTER: mastered the reikai technique.
A master of the technique will succeed in performing the reikai technique without fail; its effect will reach full power, area size and duration match the maximum.

Questions and answers
What happens if two reikai techniques of different persons clash?
Likewise as both reiryoku and reiatsu, they do not merge or overlap; they shape themselves tightly against each other, creating an area of high pressure on the clashing point/area. However, as with both reiryoku and reiatsu, the one with the higher mastery level of reikai will prevail. If both have the same level of reikai achieved, the one with a more aggressive energy might prevail; but as a more aggressive technique means shorter duration, the other will prevail as soon as the more aggressive effect ends.
