Li Wei: He'd found it! Heve's vision had been right! It had taken weeks for the little godling to locate the place that the mute seer had drawn out for him. Trial and error left him wandering from one land to the next. Most had already been occupied- one in particular seemed...sad and deserted. The land was blessed by massive waterfalls, lush green as far as the eye could see, and prey beasts grazing themselves fat, and not another lion to be seen. She'd be so proud of him! Hopefully, he wasn't too late in his return. 'Heve had pressed that a danger was looming over the pride- nameless and formless in her nightmare, but devistating all the same.
God or not, the trip was tiring. Young still, he had taken time to rest several times on his trip. Once under a large tree, another atop a rock, and this time- beside a small watering hole. The only creatures to be seen were a pair of giraffes, so he didn't bother with cloaking himself in a mortal skin. Instead, Li joined the mortal preybeasts who seemed strangely accepting of his presence.
Panting, the godlet padded to the pool and slowly stepped over the water. The edge was always muddy. A few clouds swirled around his feet as he drifted just an inch above the water's level, dipped his head, and began lapping at the water.
Jelani: Unknown by the small god, the watering hole had been an ideal resting place for yet another individual. A large lion bearing thick, calloused scars over his entire left flank trudged heavily through the thick, golden grass. His dusty pelt was cloaked perfectly among his surroundings, right down to his dusty blonde mane. He was large, dwarfed only by the firekin that dominated the deserts just south of there. His body had grown hard with muscle and torment, his movements calculated and precise. A dark nose tested the air. Water...
Jelani's large, heavy paws pushed through the grass slowly. Unnoticed, even by the god. He'd not lived as long as he had by being a clumsy hunter. His eyes slowly scanned the area in front of him. Watering holes often boardered pride lands- at the very least, other preditors often scraped for their turn at the water side. A pair of giraffes had their backs to him, their front legs stretched to either side of them with their heads bowed. It would be a nice meal...but even powerful lions weren't fool enough to try to bring a giraffe down on their own. The smaller one could be the offspring of the larger one - or a mate. It wouldn't be much of a fair fight.
Jelani slowly trudged along the grassline, eyeing the two large prey beasts as he stepped to take his place along the oppisate bank. It was then he spotted what could only be...one of them. A divine. Young by the looks of it- and small. His eyes narrowed as he tipped his head. It hadn't seen him. It too seemed occupied with the pool.
Heftige Gottheit des Mutes: Heftige Gottheit des Mutes had continued his wondering of the lands below haven in search of ones worth of his courage. So far there had been none who he found worthy. Not one soul so far had found his favor.
Mut sat himself high at the top of the waterfall, a place he could watch the watering whole. He had a feeling one worthy would appear at that spot. And his intuition was always correct.
He watched the god of peace? No, that was not him. The weak god whom had died countless times, who cannot stand the smell or sight of blood. Mut looked to the other lion in the grass. It was not him either. This one was without much fear, but his mind was far to twisted. He did not have true courage with him…
So Mut stood there with a grimacing look as he waited for another to show up. If not he would have to intervene himself… and hopefully not be to late this time.
Jelani: Jelani lowered himself to the ground and flattened his ears. His first god hunt... finally he would taste the blood of the immortals. With luck. Anything could trigger an escape. He knew little of the actual nature of gods. One would assume they were fast- and alert. If the giraffes stirred, if he was too eager with his charge, if he -breathed- too loud, it would be over too soon, and he'd remain empty-jawed.
He took one slow step forward, then another. Inch by painful inch, he moved closer towards the watering hole. He stood in water, so he'd have to break as his paws met the mud, leap... he could make it in a long jump. The large male flexed his claws in anticipation. His first god to slay... in agest to come, his name would be remembered and feared...
Heftige Gottheit des Mutes: "Hm... " Mut got to his paws in sync with Jelani's pouncing stance. His wings extended and prepared for a dive. Still he remained up on the waterfall certain the one he was looking for would show up soon. His courage held him in place as he waited, yet was ready.
Squall: The brown and White mane moved though the tall grass, as a black coated lion moved quietly, though the spiny long shoots of grass. He looked like a black cloud striding though a sky of tan.
A watering hole, any Lion around could smell the sweetness of the liquid. It was peace to a dry tongue and mercy to a sticky throat. Though finding the water....what a pain.....
And even more annoying if someone else was there.
As the winds shifted, so did the smells in the air. The prideful lion halted. Just want he didn't want....there where others. He almost thought about turning around and going the other way, just to avoid the conversation....
But the water was so sweet and tempted his stay. A quiet sigh left the maw of the Lion and and started forward a little more, letting his eyes fall on the one he thought he might have smelt. It was only a youngling.
He would wait then. Though he did nothing to hid his dark coat among the sea of grass. Though he felt there was something more...
Heftige Gottheit des Mutes: "....." Mut's face became expressionless for a moment as the black lion came into the scene. That was him. The grimacing look returned as he relaxed to watch the events unfold. The lion didn’t react as a regular lion would to seeing a god floating on the water. Yes, this one was definitely him…
Jelani: Unfortunately for Jelani, his concentration had been dominated by his hunt. The other god and the darker male nearby went completely unnoticed. Another few inches, he held his breath, his maw slowly falling open. One of the giraffes jerked, disturbing the other. Too soon! Jelani tore forward, claws tearing at the soft ground in his wake. Another lion might have roared in, announcing his entrance, but he couldn't spare the luxury. Such approaches were for the fearful game of the field. The godling lifted his head and snapped his attention over his back. Too late.
Jelani had launched himself forward, his powerful legs acting like a springboard. As the god's body tensed for escape, a pair of powerful jaws found the flesh of his back, locking around a few pounds of flesh. The two plunged into the shallow water, a mess of limbs, claws, and water.
Squall: Squall's head jerked up as the second Lion ripped on the scene and in a flash attacked the young god. What?! His eyes azure eyes rose a little in alarm, and surprise. How didn't he not see the other?
His chest rose with a taken breath, to Interfere or not....He didn't know what was happening. Though the cub looked innocent beyond a doubt. Why was it even alone?
The dark male's eyes narrow vary slightly, the youngling didn't even have a chance to live and to even know how to fight for himself. It wasn't a fair fight....
Heftige Gottheit des Mutes: In a flash Mut leapt from his perch on the cloud and teleported behind the black lion. “Are you just going to sit there and let Peace die?” Mut spoke without emotion.
Li Wei: It had happened so fast... he'd never been attacked before! He could feel the fangs digging deep into the flesh in his back, having broken through the still soft saddle of scales that lined his back. Water engulfed him, swirling furiously as he was dragged back and forth through it. The fangs ripped deeper into his flesh. A cry was cloaked behind what seemed like walls of water. Slowly, the water seemed to pull away from him. His paws and hooves dangled, dripping, over the surface as he was carried by his unknown assaliant.
Blood...his own blood trailed in streams down his body through the water and the mud as he was carried. He felt as if someone had reached in and twisted his stomach in five directions. His mind slowly began to fog over as his body drifted further and further from his control. Blood... he could smell it, feel it.
Jelani: It tasted sweet, unnaturally so. He'd tasted the flesh of young hares, young deer, even other lions- but nothing spiked his taste buds like this! The lion bore his teeth down harder, threw his head upwards and tossed the cub to the ground. Before it could lift its head, a heavy paw slammed down, pinning its limp body to the mud. "What is it? Can't fight back? Pathetic... I had hoped that a divine would have more of a bite... any bite. Even a nibble." He leaned in close and ran his tonge along the weeping wounds in the cub's back, "Perhaps I should devour you while you draw breath. How does mortality feel?"

Squall: Needless to say, Squall was startled by the divine lion. He had never came across such a Lion. It must have been a god. his eyes turned unemotionally over to the god.
Peace? Squall's azure moved back to the youngling and the monster of a lion. So that was peace....not even fully grown.
Squall with out a word, let his claws flex in the ground. well 'a chance to strike first' was always nice, and if he was going to do it. Better decide..NOW!
The dark body shot forward for the bigger lion. Squalls mane lowered as his head angled, for a full on crushing blow to knock the other from the youngling. First goal to get the demon from the other if he even wished to survive such a fight...he planed to...
He knew he was going to regret this....It wasn't his business was it?
Heftige Gottheit des Mutes: Mut vanished again, this time positioning himself on another cloud.
A perfect place to watch and move if needed.
Jelani: The collision would be like meeting with a boulder. Jelani's teeth closed around his tongue from the impact, replacing the sweet blood he'd been enjoying with a splash of his own. His body jarred, but it wasn't enough to lift him from his prey. It was, however, enough to catch his attention.
His eyes narrowed as he slowly turned to the darker male. His tongue ran over his blood-stained maw slowly, as if the intrusion was more or less a mild annoyance. "I do hope you are a bumbling idiot ready to apologize and be on your way... as you can see- I'm busy."
Squall: Hitting the Lion, the felt as if he was unmoved. Squall flinched to the jar of the hit, but didn't dare show the headache he just gave himself with a failed shove. He didn't even shake it off, though it felt like he just slammed into a unmoved rock.
Catching himself from toppling over, his gaze rose to the beast and calm composure. He let out a fighting roar in his face for a answer, and raised his large paw; spreading his claws wide with the motion to drop it down upon his opponent.
Yeah he wasn't going to back down now.
And, now he knew he was going to regret this.
Jelani: Jelani's head was thrown to one side as the blow landed. Hard. Blood trailed down the side of his face as he slowly turned back to face the male, his golden eyes flaring to life. Calmly, he brought his tongue out to lick at the side of his face. "Oh dear... I suppose you're not a bumbling fool. Just a fool with a deathwish."
He sighed, looked up towards the sky, then raised onto his hind legs and threw his back paw upwards for the other male's jaw, a blow that if met would feel like a hammer blow.
Squall: Squall expecting some kind of strike in return, didn't hesitate to hop back as the other male looked up to the sky. Even that subtle movement, alarmed him into defending for a attack, in a leap back.
His body lowered a little to the ground, reading himself. Hie gaze looked to the rose other. He was a giant. Though Squall didn't look so small himself, his fur was finely on end and flared up. His teeth barred and his gum line raised to reveal more white and thirst for injury
Jelani: Jelani fell to all fours with a heavy thud. The damp ground sank around his paws, sending small sprays of mud up around them. He glanced shortly to his prize. While very much alive, the godlet only laid there, soaked in a growing puddle of his own blood. He looked shocked, perhaps even ill. Pathetic...
Turning back to his aggressor, he took a slow step forward, his eyes blazing. His own maw pulled back into a very wide, very hungry grin. His teeth had been yellowed and stained by the blood he'd recently drawn, some still trailed down from the corners of his maw as he approached. "You're a bold one... but a stupid one. How can you dare challange me if the gods themselves flee?"
Squall: Squall didn't let his gaze move from the other male, he wouldn't dare let his gaze drift. His eyes where sharp and concentrated tightly on older lion. Inhaling a breath, he let his teeth relax as his opponent stepped closer.
He didn't move away from him....He took the pause as the lion started to rant, he did like to talk it seemed. How annoying, he was most likely going to to be talked to death.
well the time was spent, calculating moves and watching his enemy's movements.

Jelani: "Very well... you've chosen your own death!" Jelani roared as he lunged forward, his hungry maw parting for Squall's head. He'd crush the fool! bladegunsniper (12:10:34 AM): Mut got to his feet as he readied to teleport again. This one had already proved himself... no more need to watch.
Squall: -Just....shut up.- Squall mentally commanded after Jelani's roar. His back paw slid back, he had to time the dodge just right to make a counter strike. The male's dark back lowered a little reading a hop to the side and away, but not to far so he couldn't quickly strike back.
This was it. As Jelani came close, squall pulled his shoulders back and his hind legs and paws pushed off from the ground; to send himself to the side of the attacking lion as the other would land.
Jelani: Jelani pressed the attack, even as his opponent pulled away, attempting to dodge his attack. It wasn't enough to completely catch Squall's head in his jaws- but his lower fang cut sharply accross the darker's lion's face. Blood sprayed out , coating one side of Jelani's lower maw.
He fell to the side, catching himself on his paws just a yard from Squall. His tail snapped to one side as he cackled, a deep, mocking sound from the pit of his throat. The lion turned slowly, licking the blood from his chops. "You're light on your toes..."
Heftige Gottheit des Mutes: “FEIGLING! FLIEHEN!” Mut roared as he appeared between Squall and Jelani. Even the ground seemed to tremble at the god’s booming voice. His thick, polished, sword like teeth flashed as his as polished claws dug into the ground. His head was lowered, but was still well above the Jelani’s face.
Jelani: "Who dares interfere with my game!?" Jelani roared as he whipped about, his ears falling back against his thick mane, posture tensing once more. What could only be a god stood between himself and the intruder. A very large, very angry looking god.
Prey... his body tensed as he weighed his odds. So this was how large a typical god stood... perhaps if it had been himself and the god... perhaps. He glanced shortly back towards the darker male. Two one one... it was no longer a fight in his favor.
Snorting, he narrowed his eyes, turned and trudged off. He'd find them again... he'd tasted the blood of the gods. Surely it accounted for something. "Soon...." he growled.
Squall: Squall flinched fully as he felt a deep sting shot across his head. Blood teared over the bridge of his nose and blinded him slightly. He was caught off a little bit of his footing, and his head dropped a little to the surprise pain.
His jaw tightened, and his claws dug in the ground. He readied to lurched out and pay the demon back.
Squall halted, but remained ready. His calculating prideful gaze remained harped on Jelani. This wasn't over.
The darker lion was slightly annoyed by the interference. One strike deserved another; and the crazed Lion deserved his! His chest raised and lowered with taken and released breaths.
Li Wei: Li watched, immobilized, from the ground where he lay. His eyes wide in shock while his body trembled, desperate to respond in some way. The world seemed to spin and warp around him. The fight had come in painful blurs. He slowly stretched a paw forward. The amount of effort it took to make such a simple action left him gasping for air.
Heftige Gottheit des Mutes: Mut huffed as the crazed lion slinked away. When he turned to Squall his head was held high. His grimacing look again returned. It was his default expression…
“….” He looked over the scar and the lion behind it. All his attention was on this brave one. “You will have your chance…” His paused. “…At another time.”
Squall: Squall's eyes and head turned watching Jelani leave, they relaxed back to there normal uninterested state. The dark Lion's chest rose and fell as the other left. It was only then Squall looked over to the god, and the a glance to the godlet.
"...." Squall looked back at the other. His head stung, and he his gaze was slightly blurred.
"....Whatever." He dully answered, and turned his head to look over to the reason he had came. Water.
Li Wei: "Wh...wh...", Li pawed at the ground in a weak attempt to attract attention. "I... I need to go...back... something..." He drew in a slow, sharp breath, "Something....is going to h....happen to...my....family."
'Heve was waiting for his return! She had insisted strongly that something was hanging over the pride- and she had no way to tell them. Even their old scribe hadn't quite been able to teach her how to write. Help or no help, dangit. He was going back. Unfortunately, the paw twitch was the most he could manage. It was an improvement though. He'd move his other paw. Later.
Heftige Gottheit des Mutes: Mut paid Squall no mind as he returned to the water. Instead he walked over to the little god and glared at him as he weakly spoke.
Once he was quiet again Mut begun to address Li’s wounds. Cleaning the little one. The taste meant nothing to him… He had to crouch down low, but never once did he lay down.
“……“ After a few laps he looked back to Squall. As he looked he stood to his full height once again. “You... you are to watch and protect peace from now on….” Mut commanded boldly.
Squall: "It's not my business..." Squall answered, just before turning away. He took steady steps over to the water soiled water. Most of the debris had settled back on the ground
He lowered his head and steady lapped the water. His blue eyes closed to the sensation of the water calming his dry throat. Looking after a cub, god or not was not on his list to 'dos'. Why did he need to? He had no connection with the lion, peace or not-he only protected himself.
Li Wei: Li blinked slugishly and slowly rolled his head to one side. He'd never seen another god before. He was only recently coming to the realinization that he was one himself. And for the longest time...he'd been a fish unique! But...he looked different. He had wings. Sort of.
"...are you a fish unique too?"
Heftige Gottheit des Mutes: "... so you say." Mut stood over Li protectively. "Unless I make it your busyness..." The whole time his tone did not betray any emotions. His head remained held high as he looked down upon the mortal lion. Li’s question went unanswered for the moment. Though, the god could only help but wonder what the hell he meant by that.
Squall: As Squall was don't drinking his fill, he lowered his head more to the water. His paw scooped up some of the liquid and he splashed it upon his nose and eyes. Repeating the process till his sight was clear.
"...."
He didn't answer the god lion. He didn't have a response to the words and frankly didn't see how he would make it his business. The Squall was a proud loner.
Squall rose his head shaking out his mane. Crimson had managed to collect on his once pure white lower coat, but he didn't seem to care.

Heftige Gottheit des Mutes: Mut grinned. The quiet lion had already found favor with this god. He didn't need to say much, the way it should be. "You already took on this task when you attacked the other lion..." The grin vanished and was replaced by that default look. "...He is now your responsibility, your task, your pride. Failing to do so will only reflect poorly on your own image...."
Squall: Squall took in a breath letting his eyes close as he heard this gods words. His head relaxed from the air. He knew this was going to be bothersome....
He turned his head and look in his eyes. Those blue eyes where still ablaze from the fight-brighter and intense, though calmed over with a still solace. That azure look raised to courage, he had to pull that move didn't he....
A breath left his maw.
"....Fine." He turned his head, moving a few steps in a slight circle he laid. Away from the larger god and godlet. Staying as the bold one insisted...ordered.
Heftige Gottheit des Mutes: Mut took a step over Li as he walked toward Squall. He paused in movement once he was infront of the black lion. "...You will be rewarded for your work." And with that said Mut vanished once again. No doubt he would keep watch over this one... He had a good sense and a good mind about him. For a mortal.
