A'danmine, Sigranth announced at the moment all four claws hit the earth, I want a bath, and a nap.
Now? A'dan inquired mildly, amused. The bronze had had three swims since this morning, and been oiled long before practice. With the strenuous exercise of practice and holding up the holes in formation, however, the beautiful bronze's hide was indeed looking a bit dulled.
Yes, mine. Now, asserted Sigranth, tipping up his head with a rumble. Will you come with me?
Sighing deeply, the lanky rider sat back in his gear, loosening his gloved fingers around the straps. In the island sunshine, A'dan found himself feeling a bit overheated. Sure, and a bath would be nice... as would a nap. But, he sighed, he still had things to do yet this afternoon. I do not think so, A'dan asserted. But you should let me remove your gear, first. I do not want it ruined in the sea...
Sigranth gave a low, almost grumbly sound as A'dan slid down his shoulder, though the blond rider was chuckling.

Hovering long enough for the rest of the wing to land and, in some cases rather quickly, disperse, Ruinnth finally touched down with an audible sigh of relief. Shedding her heavy rider's jacket before even thinking of dismounting, Lyveana patted the sinuous green neck beneath her sympathetically before swinging down.
That was well flown, even with the empty spots. The greenrider commented, bending around Ruinnth's forearm to unfasten the fighting straps. Please tell everyone I said so, and then you, dearheart, can rest on your laurels for the day. She added, giving the green a good scratch along a proffered eyeridge as Rui complied by sending out the message, and curved her head around to wordlessly request some attention.
I will swim first. What will you do?
"Likely finish that new pair of fighting straps, this set has seen better days." Lyv replied aloud, pulling the rest of the rigging from around Rui's neck once she was done scratching. Beneath her hand, Ruinnth snorted at that, before warbling a greeting to Sigranth, who was nearby. Out of the corner of her eye, Lyveana saw A'dan sliding down Sigranth's shoulder, chuckling about something, which only served to remind Lyv that she really ought to find something none work-related to do. Just once...
Yesss, that is a good idea. The green prompted. You can work on leather whenever, but you can only enjoy the sun while it is shining.

The skilled, practiced hands made short work of the straps when A'dan set his mind to it, though with an impatient, shifting bronze rumbling softly above him, it was a bit more difficult than usual. Hold still, Sigranth, chided the rider with a sheepish sound. I can hardly get these knots untied with you wriggling about like an overgrown fish.
Of course, A'danmine. The dragon's voice was surprisingly less imperious than usual. It was not as if he did not look quite pleasant enough in the hot light, and he shifted once more to show himself off to his best advantage. Ruinnth says that Hers thinks we've done well today. Complacently, the great bronze lowered his head as A'dan retrieved the gear from it with a grunt at the weight.
That's good to hear. We've been working rather hard, haven't we? Once A'dan had pulled off his gloves, he began to work a gently rubbing hand along an itchy spot on the brindled bronze hide, smoothing along to the tip of a headknob. Go on and relax, Sigranth. I'll come and oil you in awhile.
Pleased, the bronze's eyes whirled with luminous blues and greens, and he contentedly thrummed a return greeting to Ruinnth. Very well, mine, came the agreement. You should relax as well.
I will, responded A'dan, tucking his gloves into his pocket and smiling as he patted the great bronze snout with gentle affection as Sigranth whuffled, stirring his curls with the breeze. Enjoy your break.
At the agreement, the large bronze began to lift himself up again into the air with flaps of his colossal wings, and to head toward the shore, winking between.
"I'm glad you're pleased with our work, Wingleader," called A'dan mildly to his wingleader, offering a smile as he shouldered the heavy braided straps. "It's been a bit rough these days, with the holes in the wings, but I think we're adjusting nicely."
