 ....A new beginning may be within reach....
Sunlight glitter through the trees boarding the HQ, gladly warming all that it touched, including the young teal Kitsu. She had been there for some time, engulfed in a rather large patch of wild forest flowers. Their soft fragrance kissing her, lulling her into a peaceful meditative state. A portrait that was hardly of her character, yet she didn't seem to care.
She had fought far too much to not enjoy a couple odd yet beautiful moments with nature, and the best part about it; safety. She felt safe in this strange new land she had wandered into. It was hard for her to believe that she even felt this way here, especially with it being an unexplored territory. Shaking the thought from her head, dust flew about her in the process. What she wouldn't give for a bath.
Lifting her body from the bed of flowers Natalis shook herself again, small petals flying in every direction as they slipped off her thick, silken fur, along with the dust collected from several days.
"I best be finding my dirty self a stream..."

Pale pink eyes squinted at the sunlight reflecting off the water's surface like so many shards of glass for several moments before Iris finally, finally admitted to herself, "I'm lonely..." None of her friends had been around for ages, and lounging amongst the familiar faces at home had not ebbed the desire for companionship of some sort. Not really.
She sat up and peered around, but as of that particular moment no one was to be seen beneath the surrounding trees. With a resigned sort of sigh she stood then, peering back toward the water with a squint. If nothing else, the weather was nice and warm today. Perhaps she could at least keep herself entertained with a dip in the stream for a while.

....or maybe it is just a dream....
She had recalled there being a stream very close to the area where she had been laying, flowers growing around either side causing it to smell very beautiful. Maybe she could use some of those flowers to make her fur smell nice as well? She pondered for a moment, thinking it over before nodding. She would go to the stream where the wildflowers grew. She deserved a break after all.
Taking off in the direction of the stream, Natalis smiled. Maybe this would become her new home. A place to settle down, if only for a short while. It had been tiring running from one end of the globe to the other. What was worse, she never even had a friend because of it, nor a lover for that matter. Frowning at that sad fact a sigh seeped from her lips. Damn it...
Slowing her pace as she neared the water, she stared. It was a lot more beautiful that what she had first imagined, and the smell was absolutely wonderful. Any guard she might have had up was now completely gone as she moved closer to the stream, its cool refreshing scent luring her to it. Was this a dream, or could she have found paradise?
"Beautiful.."

Iris submerged herself in the stream, walking along the bottom and peering at the underwater things about her for a some moments before the need for air forced her to surface. She did not gasp for air once her head emerged, but merely opened her mouth and took a deep breath, forepaws propping her up upon a rock in the streambed. She just stood there, then, letting the water drip from her form as it willed, not bothering to shake off since she intended to go under again. At some point.
A softly spoken word caught her attention and her ears pricked up and forward, head swiveling for a moment as pale eyes peered through damp bangs to try and find the source. It took some moments longer than she had originally thought it would, for the one who spoke it blended rather well with the greenery around her.
"You're rather lovely yourself, darling." Iris drawled it in a bemused fashion, knowing the comment hadn't been at all directed at her. "The scenery suits you." She smiled one of her friendliest smiles and canted her head to the side a bit. "It's funny, there was no sign of another soul around before I decided to duck under the water, and now here you are. Fate seems to like playing little tricks on me like that."
