I'm guessing it wouldn't be too hard to make...

I was going to suggest using zip ties as an alternative, and when I searched it, I happened to come upon instructions for making boning out of plastic containers. Try looking here: http://making-your-own-style.fabsugar.com/643906

Otherwise, plastic zip ties are pretty sturdy, and already about the right shape. You could try those for boning.

I've done it before when I didn't know a whole lot about corsets.

Here's what I discovered:

Ice cream pails can be cut up and stacked for semi-decent boning. I tried margarine lids, they tend to be sturdier. Use some good scissors it you're going to try this. If you don't tip them with something, they will push through the fabric and seams. It can get painful no matter how much one rounds them. If you're going from scratch, then glue could work, or puncture holes and sew material on the ends for protection.

As for grommets, they aren't always needed. Early corset craftsmen used sturdier material or they would reinforce the holes with stitches. I've found that if the holes are placed between bones that the bones will take most of the stress. It'll help the material from ripping or becoming malformed.

Anyway, that's just from personal experience. I hope it helps.
